Hey everyone, I hate to be the noob but I recently backed up using titanium backup, flash a rom, didn't like it, flashed back and went to restore using titanium backup and everything went fine apart from the fact that recent messages are missing and they are very important to me, can anyone help me recover them? Thanks in advance.

TB pro? Or free version?
When u open TB does it show that there us a backup for messages on the date u backed it up?
Also if u are gonna be a flasher, may I suggest using Google voice so that no matter what u have a backup to a backup
Good luck

Oh wait, phone / messaging storage is only at the 15 th, why? I backed up on the 30th? Is there any way to get my messages back? They are very important to me.

Probably not unless u had them backup'd within a ROM backup.

For future reference...always make a nandroid backup in recovery before wiping and flashing a new ROM. That way if you don't like the new ROM you just restore the nandroid. That's the only 100% way to not lose anything.

I have a Skyrocket now but have a new one coming. Its a long convoluted story so I won't bore you with it. My question is since I have everything backed up on Titanium backup when I get new phone already rooted is there any way to migrate using Titanium to the new phone? Thanks I'm still pretty new to this.

Okay the only thing you can restore are missing apps and their data. You cannot restore system data between different phones.
I found this app while cruising the forums. sounds cool you can browse your nandroid backup for apps that you forgot to backup without having to restore your backup!

That's sick downloading now

That, kids, is OTH.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement.
I dunno if anyone knows or not but Titanium Backup Pro let's you go into a clockwork nand and restore apps as well......
*EDIT*
But I downloaded the app anyways and that's a great find, very UI friendly lol for someone like me and it got the job done! I guess I now have 2 ways to save myself after realizing I forgot to backup just an app

same problem^^^
Hi guys. I am new to rooting, and finally took the plunge and rooted my LG Thrill. the main reason I rooted was to get hotspot access as well as freeze bloatware. I doubt I will ever use a custom rom.
With that said, after rooting with Megatron, I used Titanium backup to backup apps and to freeze a few.
My question is this: I have a short list at the bottom of my apps (8) that are striked out. The list is below.
1) What are these?
2) Can I remove them under REMOVE ORPHAN DATA without any ill effects?
3) Are these parts of frozen apps?
I haven't been able to find much info on these.

com.lge.charging_test
com.lge.external_memory_test

I truly appreciate all the help I have received from this forum...although I haven't posted much, I have read quite a bit and all of your posts have helped me immensely.
Thanks again!
The ones with the lines through them are just apps that have been backed up but are not on your phone anymore or are frozen

That's where u am confused. these were immediately there. Right after root, I installed Titanium Backup and those showed up strikes. I didn't make changes that I know of.
Prior phone?

Not sure what you mean? This is the only phone I have rooted and used Titanium with.
I would like to use the function to "Remove Orphan Data", but don't want to mess anything up.
It shows them as No backup yet...but doesn't seem to be a way to back them up...probably because it thinks these were old apps.
Can suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!

I don't see how they could be things that are not on the phone anymore as I did the backup, then froze a couple of apps and haven't removed anything.
You mention that these could be from frozen apps too...so if there was something that couldn't get backed up, then I froze it, these could be from those frozen programs?
So in practice, if I were to unfreeze my apps, I should see those strikes removed????
Yes

I used to use Orange Backup to make daily nandroid backups but once KitKat came out, it was no longer supported. Are there any alternatives now?
What's the problem using recovery exactly?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
it requires supervised time. with orange backup you can schedule it to run at a certain time every day. i set it up when i'm asleep.
In which case i'd recommend looking at "tasker" and this thread:

from what i just read about the orange backup app, it doesnt preform a nandroid backup, it just backups files that you choose.
Only a nandroid can backup your complete rom and restore it. As far as I know. ;l

That's the same alternative I moved to when OBackup development stopped. I support PhilipTD's recommendation. To compliment that backup solution I added FolderSync to automate coping the Nandroid backups to another device or a cloud service. To round out the device backup solution I also use Titanium Backup and FolderSync.

How long does Online Nandroid Backup take to do a regular noncompressed backup? Mine was on for over an hour so I stopped it. My nandroids in recovery usually only take about 5 min.
Greetings!
I have my unlocked, rooted Nexus 5 that's on 4.4.3. I had to flash the original stock on since the OTA failed and then flash the factory 4.4.3 build. That's all fine!
I backed up a few days prior to this. Now I was dummy and didn't export a file out of this fuel log app. Two years worth of data in it.
I used WugFresh's Nexus Root Tool Kit and the Nandroid back included with it.
If I could recover just that app and hopefully the data that comes with it that'd be awesome! I just don't know how to go after just one app! YouTube has been rather useless cause everybody show you how to totally backup and/or restore!
Hey, if it can't be done I'm not going to cry over it.
Hope you can help! Thanks much in advance!
