Currency Converter added with new search experience

Hey man. Your app looks real interesting and I'm definitely going to check it out.
But I wanted to offer my help, in case you need a translation in German If you do, just send me a tweet, pm or an email - I'll be glad to help
CyanogenModded Very China-like, from my Samsung Galaxy S III
LG Familyguy59/Beatsleigher

Great app.!!! Thanks.
I would like to see if you could add a converter from cubic feet to cubic meters.
.... and just to make it complicated a conversion from cfm (cubic feet per minute) to cmm (cubic meter per minute).
Also in the pressure conversion if possible could you add IWC (inches of water column) please?
TIA
:good:

just installing now, sounds useful - will let you know

Works nicely. Would love if it was Holo themed though (My OCD)

I really like this app especially the ease of use.
Something i recomend adding is shoe sizes(male to female, us to uk, etc).

Fuel Consumption.
Is fuel consumption count correctly?
I tried 89 MPG (UK) = 0.3150 Liters/100km which can't be true.
Correct should be 3.28 Liters/100km
Or am I doing something something wrong?

We just figure out that there is a bug in Liters/100km calculation, we will fix it in the next update.

[App] Liquid Physics Live Wallpaper

I made a quick port of Grant Kot's liquid simulator java applet and turned it into a live wallpaper.
It uses a ton of cpu so it will probably drain the battery pretty fast but it's fun to play with.
http://grantkot.com/MPM/Liquid.html
zip file contains the eclipse project with all the source code if anyone wants to do something with it
edit: - ignore the apk in this post and download quinbd's version a few posts down, it's much better
It runs slower than my pc; its not fullscreen.

Thanks! I like your version better. I wish there was more particles but my phone just isn't fast enough.
Well, I hate Java and I love C/C++, so I might end up porting this to use JNI. This would probably be one of those areas where using C++ for particle movement could really make a big difference. Thank you.
Very cool.
I noticed you said it's "as fast as I could get it", but you're using postDelayed with 50ms intervals, which limits the refresh rate to 20Hz.
I changed that to 17ms, and added a simple fps display to test - it seems to max out around 30fps on my phone.

Yeah I found 20hz seemed to be the best compromise between animation speed and not using so much cpu time that the phone slows down to a crawl. Different phones might be able to run it faster though.

Sound Box
It reacts on a shaking and makes your phone act as a bell, drum, rattle, wind chimes and other such a stuff. It's a toy for fun. Some users noted that children also love it.
So shake your phone, have fun!
The goal
Actually the initial idea came from my friend. She said: it would be cool if you'll shake your phone and it will sound like a junk in a metal box or like a broken device. Totally broken. Later me and my friends came up with an invention to add a bell, maracas and more. When I started, the main goal was to make an app that authentically behave like a rattle, a bell, etc. I tried to get a realistic reaction to the phone shaking. Among other things, different sounds for different strength of shaking - just like real things. Hope I've succeeded.
Variations
There are two versions: lite and full. Lite version contains limited set of sound themes. For now there are small bell, darbuka and "digital" sound (simple sine harmonics). Full one is a set of about 20 sound themes. There are, in addition to lite ones, metal and bamboo wind chimes, maracas, rattlesnake, jingle bells, tin can with junk (yeah that junk from the initial idea) and much more. For now full version is paid.
Requirements
- Android 1.5+.
- No additional permissions required.
Notes
The application locks most of the buttons by default. You could switch it off: see Menu -> Settings for details!

Yeah, why not. Actually there was an idea to make it possible for users to create sound themes by themself and share it with anyone. Right now I finishing my first game. After it possibly I'll made it.
Anyway I'll try to record some nice guitar sound and add it to the existing set.
C'mon guys, just tell what you think! Is it good? Is it bad? Is it boring? Just anything... How do you think, what would be great to add/change here?
Well, ok...
nice app!
the sound theme list is too short in the free app though..
I would suggest you to put a full version and let ppl try it out

Yeah, may be, I'm not sure (that somebody will shake the phone so far as to damage it). Anyways, it's not necessary to shake it too hard. There is a setting of the sensitivity in the application. But maybe you're right. Maybe I'll add a warning to the application's description. Just in case.
Sorry mate with respect have to give this the thumbs down, i was expecting at leaast 10/15 different sounds not just 3,my young son might like it if there were some cartoon noises but only 3 uninstalled..sorry.

How about a Text to Speech file reader? It's build into most of the current roms using google's pico tts so really all you have to do is read the text file etc and push it through the api.
Once you have that in place you can start integrating tts to some of your existing apps. Read the wikipedia entry to you...etc.

I built this app, by myself, from scratch, in my own free time. Yes, it's an HTML5 app. I lack the time and skill to properly do a native one.
I do not want to deprive any students(or whoever lol) who cannot buy this app of this wonderful app! You may also freely distribute(i.e. pirate) this app. However, be aware that any pirated version of this app lacks this feature: that warm fuzzy feeling that you get from purchasing this app, allowing me to buy another cup of Milo
It would mean a lot to me that if you like this app, and can afford it, please do me a favour and purchase it, or spread it around by word of mouth and get people to buy it. Take it as a donation to me. If you own a nice Android phone, surely $0.99 isn't a lot to ask for?
I am also considering an free ad-supported version of this app, but I haven't decided on anything yet, partially since I'm running into problems with Admob.
YOU MAY REQUEST ADDITIONAL CONTENT!
Contact me at [email protected], or reply in this thread(I might not see it though)
Naturally, I appreciate feedback on how I can make the app better, and from the developers on this forum, any advice. DO report any errors(content, bugs, language) you may have found! While I have looked through the content, I may have accidentally missed out something, and typos do occur.

OK, for some reason it won't accept a cutter diameter. When I type in .5 it just blanks out the field when I move on to another field or click 'calculate'.
Looks nice. Eager to see where this goes.

Now that's really strange, it works perfectly fine for me. When I type .5 and select another field, 0.5 remains there.
EDIT: oh I pinned down the issue. Anyway, a quick workaround is to type simply type 0.5. It would seem that it is an issue relating to how android handles a numerical input :/ I'm not sure how to word around that for now.

Unfortunately, I'm not adding in the feed and speed calculator yet as it isn't performing up to expectations.

[APP][4.0+] HoloConvert: The New Unit Converter

This is my new Unit Conversion app released today, HoloConvert. I felt that all of the current Android unit conversion apps are ugly and many aren't powerful enough, so I decided to make one of my own with a Holo interface in mind. I recieved great support on XDA for my last app Scientific 7 Minute Workout so I wanted to see if I could get some feedback for my newest app.

What makes this unit conversion app different?
Like I said before, I feel the user interface of an app is one of the most major components of an app. Even if an app works well, you shouldn't have to sacrifice on the looks or ease-of-use of an app. I made this app to target that, while implementing many features such as:
Saving your favorite conversion units
Adding new custom units
Tip Calculator
Multiple themes
Choice in decimal precision
Built-in calculator
I just released the app, so please let me know what you think and of any suggestions!
Wow this looks great!
Just downloaded and it's a great app! :good:
Just one suggestion can you give swap icon (similar like in google translate) so if we need to change from m to cm or vice versa from cm to m, we only need one tap
Definitely will buy it! Looking forward for next update
Beautiful work dev, keep up:good:
Thanks a lot guys! And how could I have forgotten a swap icon, added to my to-do list! I am very actively updating the app at this time (I've technically pushed out 3 updates so far) so keep the suggestions coming
Thanks for the update, I noticed a slight bug with currencies but it was already fixed!

Yep, there was a small issue with them at first but I fixed it pretty quick! Let me know if you find anything else!
Just saw on xda portal am going to try this.
Buying Pro was a no-brainer.
Now I'd only like to get an option to get the favorites on opening the app. This way I have to click two times for them, whilst the goal of favorites would be to have a shortcut!

That would be great. Also, some more currencies would be great, if you have the time (I kind of miss SEK).
Great app though! and at 0.79€, very affordable!
Scrolling through the units is extremely laggy on my phone, other buttons work with instant feedback. Somehow the list is really heavy to render.
I prefer asking google now for unit conversion but this is very nice app
Nice and handy app. One little bug, I cannot input negative numbers on the From input. E.g., when converting from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Just downloaded.
Looks very nice but I have two remarks.
On my SGS2 4.3" display, text is HUGE.
It would be nice to be able to select between few text sizes.
Nothing fancy, simple "Small, Medium, Large" selection.
You desperately need to implement reverse conversion.
If I choose meter as first unit and insert number "1", it works for Angstrom but cannot cope with AU.
You could implement simple swipe left or right to replace currently selected units
Also, question "Are you sure you wish to exit?" is unnecessary in my opinion.
Best wishes in new year!
This ain't right...

That looks like Fahrenheit to Kelvin conversion. Code bugs it seems like.

Well I purchased it.
Will keep it but two issues so far.
The icon is ugly (will be nice to have something graphical)
The first conversion I tried was not accurate. There are exactly 12 inches to a foot so I selected convert feet to inches, selected 3 feet and it did not convert to exactly 36 inches.
Nice
Some current, resistance, voltage, ect. units, would be great. Nice job I can help with translation to polish.
great!
 it's cool
Very nice app. I just have not been able to enter a negative number for conversion.
For instance, if I attempt to enter -40 for a F to C for temp conversion, the "-" symbol does not appear to register as having been selected for input, despite the fact that the keyboard shows it available and I have entered it.
