Is it possible to mod vold.fstab and link2sd together? Its irritating that I cant get to ext3 on external with original vold.fstab. Or should I do vold.fstab after partitioning the external? Its for my friends ace plus.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Current problem:
Cant get past installing flash drivers in xp.
Vold.fstab + link2sd?
I kinda messed up the vold.fstab. Anyone successfully done this?

Hi
my phone is sony ericsson live with walkman (wt19i), bootloader unlocked, rooted and CWM recovery installed.
In order to install cyanogenmod, I flash my boot.img(kernel) with flashtool(fastboot.exe).
New kernel is a custom kernel from xda-developers. Flashing process is totally ok. But, When i enter CWM recovery, my sd-card is unmounted and i try to mount my sd-card butit says "fail to mount sd card".
Now, everytime I open my phone it is stopped in Sony Ericsson Logo and I can't even restore my backup as I can't mount my sd card.
How can I solve it.
I flash boot.img as describe in the following link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444866
Can anybody solve it. Plz, help me!
I am having issues mounting my new 32GB sd card I am quite sure thats not the sd card issue, I've tested it with numerous flash test tools, different operating systems, and devices and it seems to work perfectly fine. But if i put the sd in my phone, it starts to lag after I fill it with some data
after flashing boot.img in wt19i it is showing can't mount sdcard in cwm....pls help what to do. i've flashed with fastboot mode. my wt19i is bootloader unlocked and rooted. i've also checked that my sdcard is ok.
i want to know how to install nfs mostwanted in xperia tipo.. it requires atleast 1.85gb free and my tipo has only 489mb free in internal memory but i have 3 gb in ext. memory.. i have heard that directory binder can do that so plzz anyone tell how to do that..
If you already have all mw datafiles, directorybind will work. If you dont have the data yet, use switch external to internal vold.fstab to directly download the files via phone.

is your device rooted?
if yes you can do it easily by swapping the ext card as internal storage

hey bro,i have 8gb ext card ......and i have changed it to internal ...........and installed the game its working fine..........but after that there is no space available to install any other app...showing by system .........but phisically it has more 5.5gb available.......what to do..........system showing 7.4/total memory used.......screen shots below
Check mine. The ideal way to counter this issue should be: 1. Take the microsd out and format using card reader. 2. Clean the phone using settings privacy reset all. 3. Re-root the phone. 4. Do vold.fstab trick. 5. Download / install games and apps. 96mb on asphalt 5? Just delete some songs or videos. Check your screenshots (pic 2). Its already 7.4gb used.

game is not working using directory bind.. and tell me step by step how to swap internal and ext. storage. Is it safe? and after swapping if i want to change storages as before will it work how to do that.. plzz help me
Just make your vold.fstab look like this. Switch /mnt/sdcard to /mnt/ext_card. You can do it over and over again. Just play it safe by installing root file explorer on phone, not on sd and always backup your vold.fstab just in case. Do this, restart the phone, and check your new internal size.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
when i try to save the file it is not saving...
Do you have root access? You certainly cant edit it in system/etc so copy and edit in sd (whatever location is fine) then copy it back, overwrite, put permission 644.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
yes i have root access and now i have done editing the file but overwriting is getting failed. how to change permissions..
What file explorer you use? I use xplore with superuser + mount writable.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
es file explorer
Es? There should be mount system somewhere inside es menu. I didnt install es yet.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
DONE!!! but a problem occured apps like temple run 2 , fruit ninja are not running they showing app not found..
Of course theres error. Its on ext_card now (the 2gb). Just reinstall.

Hi guys.
I know this can sound a bit funny but that's true. I have done unlocking bootloader and flashing rom on few xperia's x8.
No problem at all.
Here I'm little bit confused as I was reading the unlocking of bootloader process on Sony offical instruction they've said "For Xperia™ devices released 2013 or later (for example Xperia™ Z and Xperia™ ZL), the SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos) when you unlock the boot loader." it is true ? Does it really delete everything on the sd card ? Would the unlocking work if I take of my sd ? Or do they mean internal storage ? Or do they mean both sd and internal ?
Also I'm having a question as our new developer make a rom I would like to flash. Like there wasn't a problem on x8 as it didn't have an internal storage. If I would like to flash the custom rom and wipe user data does it deleted the stuff of internal storage like pictures music and everything ? Or does it only do it for the system partition and the one for the installed apps ?
Thanks for help.

I've unlocked the bootloader and internal storage hasn't been touched. Of course I have to flash FTF as phone get bootloop but still there wasn't any sign of missing my files from internal storage.
I've been trying all the afternoon to do an partition on my 32gb SD card (class 4), but when I try to enable it with Link2SD, the phone stucks on reboot I have done the SD partition with ''MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition''. I'm on latest 15.3.A.1.14
1. FAT32 - PRIMARY - 27gb
2. Ext2 - PRIMARY - 2.5gb (I also try with Ext 2 and Ext 4).
I tried both also with LOGICAL or LOGICAL and PRIMARY and so on, but still don't work. Any solutions?
Sorry for bad english...

CWM is recovery in our case its buildin kernel. So you will need to flash custom kernel(unlocked BL).But im not sure that partitioning from there will help you
Maybe problem is in root or script...

Yeah, I know...but I think I can't installed because BL is locked
In my previous Samsung Galaxy Mini, I partitionate the SD card from there and it work. I think it was on stock kernel, but I'm not sure...
What do you mean by saying thay is a root or script problem?

Maybe Link2SD don't get root permissions right or just the program isn't compatible with our phone...I'm not using this program(and never used it),so can't tell you much

I'll try sending an email to the developer, asking for the problem...
But in fact, short time ago I read that some Xperia's like M, L and SP and so on have that problem. They said that was a 4.1.2 error, but apparently it remains in 4.2.2 and in 4.3
Hi everyone.
I'm a little confused here. The Xperia E3 has 4gb of internal memory. So why can I only get acess to 2gb of it?
I'm trying to install new apps and it says that I don't have enough space, when I have 200mb of available space and the app only needs 35mb...
Please help!!!!

Phone needs memory for its normal works. So if you are low on memory you can move apps to sd, clean cache, uninstall unnecessary apps.
Or if you are rooted then possibly are more.

And if you build from source, you can also bump partition layout from /system to /data and get even more space.

I think it is only about values in BoardConfig.mk
System's got there 1700 MB (Stock ROM with bloatware has about 1200) and /data 1781 MB. A simple change should do the job (I haven't tried it).
