Need more info. Hboot version, s-on s-off. What did you do that got you in a bootloop?

If you are S-on sometimes you need to "Fastboot boot boot.img" I used to have to do it for my vivid, I'd either get bootloops or WiFi broken. I'm not expert or anything but it could be that...

You should really do some reading on this phone. People have bricked them by not reading enough before attempting flashing ROMs. Flashing the wrong rom, become familiar with adb/ fastboot commands, and generally how the phone works and the proper steps to get it accomplished successfully. And after reading if u still aren't 100% then ask before attempting, its easier to find it something won't work right before you flash and then need help to recover the device.

You are boot looping because on hboot 1.14 you can't flash the boot image from recovery. Has to be pushed with fastboot.. So the boot image from your previous ROM is still there, resulting in a boot loop

Haha! I was gonna say something similar to this as hboot 1.14 + s-on + flashing boot.img is posted ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE and if not just from reading a sticky, a search surely would pull this info up... but then i figured, what's the point? OP won't care and people will continue to not read and have issues as a result. Best thing to do is just embrace the noobs with their nooblike behaviour!

+1 best advice so far
OP, do yourself a huge favor and listen to this. I personally don't care how familiar you THINK you are with mobile devices, EVERY device is different. Sit down, relax and read. If you can't get the terms RUU, HBOOT or don't even know if you have the Evita, please read everything possible before you brick your phone. If you do brick, don't come crying here about how to unbrick either.

[TOOL] Boot.IMG OnEcLick Flasher (Windows) update 1/14/13

STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP? PHONE WILL ONLY BOOT TO SPLASH SCREEN THEN NOTHING? I'll bet your one x has the newer 1.14 hboot and you didn't know you had to flash the boot.img of your rom in fastboot! This tool takes care of it for you.
Hello everyone the 2.20 firmware comes with a new hboot (1.14)as we all know. It will no longer allow you to flash the boot.img of your rom in recovery. I created this one click tool to ease that process. This is a simple tool to flash the boot.img of your choice. Currently windows only anyone on MAC feel free to make a port.
1/14/2013 There is now an app out that will do this for us. However new people here are failing to search and read so I have updated the tool to make it more user friendly and almost fullproof if directions are followed to a T.
Disclaimer: You are responsible for the actions you take with your phone. I cannot be held accountable if you mess something up.
To use:
1 Unlocked bootloader
2 Custom Recovery
3 Download boot.imgflasher.zip
4 make sure you have HTC One X Drivers installed
5 make sure HTC sync is not running in the background or system tray on pc
6 Have USB Debugging under developer options turned on
7 Have fastboot under power turned off
8 Extract the downloaded zip to the location of your choice
9 Download the rom you want to flash to your pc.
10 locate the boot.img file of your rom in its zip file
11 Place your boot.img you would like to flash in the folder you extracted above.
***DO NOT PLACE THE BOOT.IMG IN ANY SUBFOLDERS, ETC SIMPLY DROP IT INTO THE FOLDER***
10 Connect phone to the pc
11 Open the folder and click the bootimageflasher.bat file. Follow on screen directions.
12 finished
The way this is set up is to be flashed prior to flashing your custom ROM. Remember that you need to have all necessary items including ROM etc on sdcard before running this script. After you flash the boot.img you can then use recovery to flash your custom ROM of choice.
It will also work if you flash the boot.img after installing the rom. Simply flash the rom of your choice then run this tool before you reboot the phone.
Happy Flashing
Download boot.img one click flasher:

sorry this is a dumb question, i am coming from a galaxy nexus and was given this phone. this only works if you are in 2.20 and already have an unlocked bootloader correct? because mine is brand new and i love it but it would be much better with cm10. so for my case im basically screwed till 2.20 is somehow rooted correct?

Is this set up to strip the signature out of stock boot.img files that are extracted from RUU? If not, you should add a disclaimer as flashing those via DD with the headers in-tact with soft-brick your device.

You can flash a rooted stock rom. There are several in the development forum.
ive been doing more reading as well i see i can install a ruu from rogers as well if im reading correctly
after i get rid of the s/u files and after i lock the bootloader?
is that what you mean by rooted stock roms
thanks elvis
What he means is you don't have to ruu back to stock and relock bootloader. You can just flash a sense ROM. However if you have hboot 1.14 you'll have to flash the boot IMG in adb.

[Q] x920 butterfly with Wifi and Bluetooth Problem

Dear Members, I am using X920e for3 months now and I am so fed up because after unlocking, rooting and installing several custom ROMs (at the moment using NOS M7 with Sense 5), when I start my phone, it never recognizes the SIM card (for that I have to turn Airplane mode On and then OFF). Its Wifi does not work and does not find anything. Even the icon does not come on top bar. Bluetooth has same problem.
Please please pleaseeeeeeee help me find a solution for that.
NOTE: In settings sometimes it does not show Wifi and Bluetooth MAC addresses. After NOS M7 ROM installation (as shown on youtube), MAC addresses are there but same SIM recognition requires Airplane mode on and off after each reboot. Wifi and Bluetooth are not working as usual.
Requesting help.
Thanking you all in anticipation and appreciate your time to reply me.

Dear senior member. I did exactly as you said. Yes I have S-on and I flashed boot image for the kernel in fastboot. Following is the link I got it from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2188640
Still when my phone turns on, it does not detect network, I then turn Airplane mode on and then turn it off. It then detects the network. No Wifi icon comes on even if I turn it on and it never detects any Wifi. In hardware information, it never gives Wifi Mac address and same is with Bluetooth.
I have been using iPhone3Gs all the way to 5 and then I have used S3 and now I moved on to HTC Butterfly x920e and I think its horrible mobile phone. I am so very sad. I cant talk to my family or use this phone for any of the reasons, I bought it for.
I will greatly appreciate if dear forum members could help a desperate and disappointed HTC x920e user.

Sir I am on Custom ROM. Using Virtuous DNA+ 1.0 ROM. Changed yesterday from NOS7 Custom ROM after wiping all data from phone and using all things clean 100%. Still have the same mentioned problems.
S-ON is still showing in hboot 4.1000 but the phone is rooted and has TWR recovery installed.
I tried many many links but they give me stock RUU links instead for my China bought x920e. I tried all RUUs on internet but they give me 155 error "The RUU image is bigger than the one you are trying to flash".
Please advice or give me links if there is any stock ROM for x920e which I may have missed and it may solve my problem.
MILLION THANKS in anticipation.

Good day, I have already tried it. The file 99.6MB size in the very first link on that page is no longer available. The file is listed in the link below:
http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads/P50
But it is not available while all the files on this page are ZIP archives. This particular HTC China link takes me to HTC's index page
Will any other file work? I have already tried HTC Asia files with no luck. Please advise.
EDIT: I found the file on a Chinese server, downloading it. I will inform the situation once DONE.

I did not flash the patch (because there was none with Virtuous DNA+ ROM) but I did flash the boot.img.
In the last tip, I was asked to follow an XDA thread which I did bit still same results.
Kindly advise. I refresh this page every hour to see if I have some reply. Thanking you all already.

Sir I replied your PM.
I bought the phone brand new from Shanghai unveiling ceremony of this phone in China. Sir I read all threads in XDA and followed all instructions, still it's just a DUMB phone with no way to connect to internet.

As a last ditch attempt to save this phone, I am going to relock the boot loader and I have found the RUU for this phone. Please kindly send me the link of instructions (I searched and couldn't find) to relock the boot loader.
1) I will relock boot loader as per instructions. (kindly help me find it)
2) I will flash the RUU.
Is this correct course of action?

[GUIDE][NO NEED HTCDEV UNLOCK]Sick of the wire trick of S-OFF? Here's Rumrunner!!

Disclamer:
I did not develop the Rumrunner s-off, and this is not an official Rumrunner thread.
This thread is here to spread the information to s-off easily.
Note: If HTCDEV UNLOCK is failing because of new motherboards after replacement, the only way to s-off is here . No!!!!
It is said to work EVEN WITH TEMPROOT!!! Go to this thread, temp root your device, and do the following instructions!!
Please test it and report to confirm if it really works, thanks!!
SCARED or TIRED of the wire trick to s-off using Juopunutbear S-OFF??
Don't make yourself so nervous and lose patience!! The Rumrunner s-off is working on the sensation.
Instructions:
Go download the universal HTC device version here. http://rumrunner.us/downloads-2/
Follow the instructions here. http://rumrunner.us/instructions/
Profit!!!
※※ I tried this on ARHD with stock kernel and it's not working, but it's working flawlessly with ViperS 5.1.0. Maybe it is something to do with kernel (I don't really know).
Quick link to ViperS thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531054
Maybe it will work on other roms, try and tell me the results.
Although it was not said in rumrunner website, I recommend to do a full backup and do the procedures after a clean flash to avoid problems.
Feel free to post questions here.:laugh::laugh:
Happy S-OFFing!!! :good::good::good:

Thank You, Thank You for the info so sweet and Thanks Rumrunner for the tools so wonderful
S-OFF = hats-off for this thread and software
Success Images attached
Thanks, I'll try
It works!
Thank you for this awesome tool! i had been looking for about a million years now on how to s-offwithout the pain of wiretrick..coz my hboot is 1.29. and somebody here, a subscriber of the ViperS5.1.0 rom thread gave me this tip..and so i tried and volla! i am now S-OFF..painlessly easy. but i had to watch a rumrunner tut video on YouTube (doing it on an HTC One) coz i was confused why the tool can't detect my phone despite meeting all the fastboot requirements (my copy of @Hassoon2000's sensation 4G all in one kit can detect my phone) and realized that i don't need to be on fastboot mode. so now after sorting out the culprit, i succeeded. and now my device is s-off after a million years! :good:

Same here but I'm thinking it'll install them just in case we don't have them on our device ( superuser and busybox) but for boot.img I'm not so sure.

Check Rumsrunner official website maybe you might find something or better still try it, but be careful to read well into it before giving it a try cos you try at your own risk

Stock 4.0.3 you mean (senny can't have 4.0.4. ). Yep. Tested by one of my members on my htc sensation/xe/4g group..but for ***LOCKED*** devices you need to do temproot.bat first. I and a fellow admin of that group are writing a guide for that..for both locked and unlocked phones.
