I posted this in thrill general as well but those threads dont get a lot of action lol. I am curious if anyone knows or has posted a guide on whether or not you can somehow unlock network preferences on AT&T builds. Specifically on V28B you can choose gsm/wcdma (2g/3g) or 3g only or 2g only. V30B however does not have these options...nor did V20P. I think it has something to do with the debranded ability to connect to the Maritime network but I'm clueless really on this one. Im currently running xbsall's VX3D and I love it because its based on V30B and I have my 4g signal (even though there's no such thing as 4g where I am lol). I have a lot of network problems like dropped calls and sms fails in my house where I live so I always use the 2g only option here. Just don't want to get rid of this Rom so I thought Id ask first before flashing back to 28B.

with root explorer or similar app goto system/app mount r/w rename LGSettings3_1.apk to LGSettings3_1.apk.bak then copy the apk attached below and restart might work if it does not remove it and remove .bak also if *#*#4636#*#* works in the dialer on v30b you can do it from there
i had dropped calls with vx3d too when i was using it, thats why i went back to 7.2
theres something wrong with v30b at least in my country.
i was talking with my girlfriend for lets say 40 mins and it dropped the call 6 times although i had good signal.

No luck but it was worth a try could the odex files have anything to do with the apk not working right? I restored my .bak but I couldn't connect to data at all it would just force close, and I couldn't search networks. Almost couldn't get root explorer to open up to switch back lol.

Just re-read my post and I should have clarified that after restoring .bak phone is fine and back to normal. I kinda made it sound like the backup had issues. All problems listed cane from the lgsettings apk from above post just incase anyone else tries this.

Quick questions. 1. Just got my Nexsus S Saturday; coming from iPhone 4, and I have managed to root and installed CM 7 build 150 nightly and want to know. Do I have to do a complete wipe every time a new nightly comes out? Or can I just update? I have done the backup of my ROM the very first time and have actually backed up my ROM twice just be safe.
Other question maybe someone knows is, anyone using the Nexsus S on AT&T? Want to know if adjusting the build.prop files to speed up the download and upload speeds works? Reason is my I phone's download up load are much faster than the Nexsus S. Would like to at least match the speeds to my iPhone. Thanks.

Between nightlys you don't have to wipe. If they are changing the kernel (or you're experience other problems) wiping cache and dalvik cache might be necessary (in case of "other problems" fixing permissions in cwm recovery might also help).

I've used all of the data tweaks, and honestly, it hasn't made it anywhere near iPhone speeds for me. That could just be my area, though.

I just installed the KD1 radio on my Nexus S and now my upload speed is uncapped. not as good as my iPhone 4, but now I am getting 1.9 - 2.8 download and upload .83-.99.
This is without any mod to the build.prop file. Don't if i should try it.
I might have take back my Nexus S back to Best Buy since I am getting the bug where the find button goes crazy without touching it.

What do you get on your iPhone 4?
You can always add the build.prop very easily. Once you change that file and save it a back up is created automatically.

On my iPhone 4 I normally get from 2.0 - 3.0 and sometimes as much as 3.3 download. Upload is always 1.2 and 1.5 unless I'm at home which is around .80.
Which radio are you using? Also what settings you end up using for the build.prop file? Did you just add them at the end if the file and rebooted twice? Will test out once I see what settings you used and radio.
I'm having a really bad issue with the search key going off in its own. Now it does more since i changed over the KD1 radio.

Did that search button go crazy in unrooted form? I posted the build.prop setting for you in the radio thread. I'm using radio kb4.

It did a few times when I had it stock.
OK thanks will check the radio thread must of missed it. I thought you had KB3? Also I went ahead installed the KB3 Radio and wow. Overall getting 2.8 down but the upload is low in the .30. this is of course without adding anything to the build.prop file.

OK all i did was move some files around, I used Childofthehorn's DEODEXED ROM @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130960
I then used the Modem.img @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102895
I extracted the files from the Modem.img, pasted them into the unzipped ROM, rezipped the rom, reflashed and BAM!

some1 told me don't unzip, just use 7zip and drag and drop then close it...wonder if that would make a difference? Well im about 2 find out and ill let u know. Maybe its the modem that was posted thats no good? Do you know what the easiest way for sum1 with the same tablet could do to help? im pretty sure we can find sum1

Flash this bro...its the jamaican version but 100% works with the att version...my lte, wifi and bluetooth r back!!!!!!!
The umama1 and umama2 roms work fine with the i497 . I use the umama1 as it is easier to modofy than the umama2. I used them to figure out the lte/bluetooth/wifi breakage. Once jellybean comes out ill just flash the deodexed one then auto update. Ormaybe a working US rom will apear. Istilldont see how it was broken if the files were not even overwriten.

Okay a while back my friend had his g2x stolen when he got it back it had a miui rom running, but would only make a clicking noise when a call was made. So I put cm7 on it, now he can make a call but can't get texts. So I restored it all the way back to v10f. 2.2.2. Once again Can't make calls. So now we are back to cm7 no text. Any ideas, I was thinking back to v10f then use the LG update tool. Maybe?

Path of last resistance is the LG updater. Maybe the baseband is wrong. Sms should work though. Try and post results.

Sounds like a baseband issue. try flashing the baseband fix. Also maybe its a ril issue. Download getril from app store and make sure your ril matches the rom

I ended dl the stock rom recovery files for 21y. Text myself a few times and everything is working. Now if get real says it's mismatched is that going to make him sound muffled.
It wasn't too hard I just didn't use the best wording for what I was looking for

If ril and bb aren't matching it can cause a host of different problems. Let getril setup your correct bb and ril properly and work from there. If calling sounds word flash the new baseband fix

Okay the ril and basebands match, the text messaging worked but then it quit again. I don't know what to do I've never seen this phone act this way I started on a g2x my girlfriend has my old one. It's been flashed on numerous occasions. Never had these problems

Can anyone confirm getting there at&t skyrocket to make calls threw T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling feature running a stock Hercules Rom on the T-Mobile network of coarse. Tried Jedi mind tricks 4.1.2 and I keep getting "Error: REG09 "Missing 911 Address"

Confirmed it does work took the SIM out if my other T-Mobile phone put it in and vice versa same error in my t989 must be the SIM? Quite odd.
Another question guys anyone know what modems I can try to get the skyrocket to pick up hspa+ it picks up edge and one band of lte in metro areas

Just curious did you flash a stock T989 ROM onto your skyrocket? any issues? did you use odin?
Also LTE should work with any of the skyrocket modems by default as long as the APNs are correct. There are threads and info on this in the skyrocket forums.
Yeah I flashed a few stock roms on it without Odin, using twrp and infamous wipe/superwipe and without infamous. Although when I did it without the infamous zips about 20% of the time on reboot it would hang on start up which was fine I just reboot and it was good to go. Noticed it hasn't done it since I reflashed with infamous though.
Lte did work just no hspa which is all I get in my town. So I put the stock uvmc6 radio in since 4g sits around 2-7mbs over here and that's more than enough. Heard you can get 2g,4g,lte with some blaze radio's but never cared to try. Only glitch I'd can't find a fix on JB for the screen rotation. It's all wacked out.

as far as I know after you flash or odin a t989 ROM you need to flash a skyrocket kernel after. That worked when I flashed t989 Jedi rom. hit thanks if this helped

Ok guys I know there are other threads about howbto get this phone to work on carriers like tmobile and att but I can't seem to get anything to work. I am rooted and fairly certain my bootloader is unlocked because I'm running a custom rom but nothing seems to work the most that I've gotten is under settings it shows my phone number but I can't get calls or signal or anything with any carrier. Is it that my carrier isnt unlocked ? I have mynphone set to global and hage tried gsm and nothing and tried apns and nothingg. The only thing I havent been able to test is the hidden menus trick and that's cuz I cant find a rom that has the options for all the steps plz help guys I really wanna at least make calls.

Ok I figured it out had to flash synergy rom for the hidden menus and then within service node got band selection for gsm and switched to a lot k works like a charm now. Smh can anyone tell me if its safe to flash other roms without the bands changing?
