[Q] sd-ext partition ?

i m using htc explorer and want to install sense 4 rom but don't know how to create sd-ext partition
can anybody plz help me?

Go to recovery and under storage option select partition sdcard or you can use minitool partition wizard if you want to do it through PC

Make sure to make a backup of ure sd card since it will Format the SD card completely..

after trying both from recovery and pc the recovery in my phone dosen't mount se-ext partition so what i gonna do now?

Change the recovery. You must be using CWM. Try TWRP. Works wonderfully.

follow this steps from here:
2. Prepare your SD card, using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition,
a. move all existing data on the SD Card to your PC and delete all files from it. RESIZE your existing FAT32 partition to a size where your unallocated space is at least 1GB but not more than 2GB.
b. Create a new ext4 Primary partition using all the unallocated space.
c. Apply changes
(I've written RESIZE in CAPS because when I tried deleting and creating the FAT32 and ext4, my phone didn't recognize the formatting as valid. So I allowed the phone to reformat the sd card and then did it using resize FAT32 instead)

Hello Sir,
i'm using HTC explorer, i unlocked and rooted my mobile and install Jaggy Rom,
and using mini partition tool and create two partition (4gb) , but ext4 is not supported,so i changed to fat32 format...
reently lot of application stored in sd, but now some application are stored in internal memory, i couldn't find out, what the problem is???
please anyone explain clearly...

Read previous post and make ext2 or 3, or try creating partition from recovery. And no bigger than 2gb

Just create ext2 partition and use Link2sd Latest version ...everything working fine for me..

but jaggy 3.2.1 , whenever i installed link2sd, its force closed , Why??

Jaggyrom already has a a2sd script! Either u have to remove that script first or use link2sd on stock rom!

are u on CMW......then switch to yannou90 recovery or twrp......CMW haserror mounting ext partition :good:

Like custom roms there are many scripts i have tried them with stock rom but they are not working .

After u partition your sd card u can go for link2sd!

Only app2sd scripts work in stock roms.. are you using Sense 4 or GB?

partition your sd card using MiniTool partition manager.

use fat32 while creating partition
and after partitioning reboot your phone
link2sd will ask for mount script
try with fat32 or ext2
ext2 worked for me

I need to help in creating a ext patition and mounting it.
i tried creating it partition using CWM - Advanced-Patition SD as well as using Partition tool.
While try to in CWM recovery - error mounting SD/EXT
I believe am not doing it correctly, please help me with steps.

can link2SD detect external partition that you have created?
if yes have you tried all the scripts?

I have search to get init.d support on stock kernel
I got it (link given below)

[Q] Pico no rom is working

i flashed pico with sense4 build7 but the roms does not works then i try to flash another rom but no rom is working the recovery is working and i am getting this error in recovery E:error in /cache/recovery/log(no space left on device) please help

it does not work i think i burned my nand i read cute price thread but it requires to move some files in root directory and i am not getting in to the phone

Flash twrp recovery and in advance setting you will find file manager
Use it to copy aur move files
Or try using format everything and flashing new rom

Thanks for your reply i already wiped and formated everything but it did not work i need to move a folder to system/xbin and to set permission to 755 to recover burnt nand but how can i set permission in twrp recovery?and how to enable root aceess for both Apps and ADB again thanks for your help

New cm10 for htc explorer EXT4 problems!

Hello all,
someone knows how to get the ext4 script with link2sd with the build6 cm10 room htc explorer?

I am not using link2sd but I can tell you that Ungaze is the best memory increasing script for CM10 ROMs.I have tested it myself and using it currently.Link2sd has given me problems before so I riverted to Ungaze script.

But I think in this build there arent moduels (ex. ext.ko and ext2.ko), so my room can't recognize my ext partition.

You can change your kernel to kernel 2.6 and try.[link in my signature]~should work.
Alternatively what lay said will also work, I think.

Which Ext patition are you using...
I use Ext4 and Ungaze is the only script which worked for me on any beta build of CM10...I am currenctly using beta6...

Mount2SD/s2e/link2SD+kernel 3+ext4=bootstuck /no SD ext errors
Exchange any of the above 3 factors and you're good to go.
Try it.

I think you solved my problem...anyways, I'll try this if I get any problem with Ungaze..
Here's a question : I made a nandroid backup when I was using ext4 partiton...now if I format my card to a Ext3 partition and then try to restore that nadroid to the same card with new ext3 part. ...will that work?? ...Using TWRP 2.3.3.0

Yes as long as that recovery is able to mount /SD ext.
twrp backups are not compatible with cwm

Hello i am using mounts2sd on cm 10.1 why dont u try it has also munted my ext4 partition

No luck yet...changed the partition to ext3...still m2sd not working...reverted back to ungaze...it has its own issues..so need to change the script soon..or would have to go back on cm9
(didn't want to change the kernel)

Try m2sd play version and change partition type to ext3 and try, if you haven't changed to cm9.

Change partition type in settings..
Enable debug in app and see the log..
I know it works.. I'm using it on ext3 created from yannou formatted with latest twrp and kernel 2.6...kernel 3 also worked for me, but just don't wanna burn anybit of ma phone.

[Q] Htc Explorer Rom With Ext hangs On boot screen...?

I just Downloaded a rom wih htc sense 4.0a which had apps in extfolder in its zip file...... but after installing it io am not able to pass the htc quietly brilliant screen.....and not only this rom but roms like bulletsense final and htc sence 5.0 also has same problem...Can any1 Help?
Also I have partiioned my sd card using cwm recovery and other rom line cm10.1 supports and runs well plz help:crying::crying::crying:

Have u partitioned any kind of ext2 or ext3 or other formats?
Does ur rom use any init scripts that link apps to the secondary partition?
