Need a case for Grip - Nexus 4 Accessories

I can't believe there are so few cases for the N4. Anyway...
Looking for something that will give me grip. Serious mega man grip. No slipping.
I've been using Case mate's pop cases since they provide grip. Specifically side grip with a smooth back.
Any idea?

The ballistic case is what you want.
What are your fingers made of? Butter?!?!

I agree, I have the Matte Black version, just the right amount of grip. Only issue I have is the button are not very well defined so they are quite hard to find.

Good case for pockets

Hello there, I have the casemate pop case and the rubber sides really make it hard to pull out of a pocket. Does anyone know or have any cases to recommend that slide easily out of pockets and are thinner? Preferably a case without rubber on it. Maybe the Seidio Surface case? Body glove? Tell me what you think! Thanks in advance!

Personally, I'm thinking about getting this case:
h ttp://www.myincipio.com/Samsung-Infuse-4G-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-Samsung-Infuse-4G-SILICRYLIC-Hard-Shell-Case-with-Silicone-Core.asp
Inner soft shell for impact protection, outer plastic shell isn't pocket sticky.
Hope that helps!
Also the tpu cases are a harder silicone I have it and its awesome. Very flexible but durable.

Case-Mate Barely There. It's perfect for pockets.
Only con is it has a little bit less to offer in the protection department, but it hardly adds any bulk at all to your phone. I have had friends surprised that there was a case on my phone.

Me too love it
infused infuse helping other infused infuses?
out of my TPU case and the platinum I like the tpu case better, though the cheap free one I got with my recent spare battery purchase is just a tad too thick around the charging port and keeps the charger from making contact. easy fix
I really need to find the link for that..spare stock size battery, tpu case, screen protector all for about $12
TPU case all the way!
I like my platinum case. See the thread about removing it before buying though.
Seidio Surface Case. It's not cheap though. 24 bucks @ Amazon, free 2nd day air if you a Prime member.

I got one for my Atrix and loved it so much I got it for my Infuse.
Another vote for the TPU case, it's thin enough to not get in the way, has enough grip to prevent slips, and the material is more durable than you would imagine for a flexible case.

Looking for a quality hard back..

Hey guys, I want to find a hard backing for this phone (because hard plastic feels so much better in the hand than gel case.. right? I haven't actually tried both out but I feel it would) but I want something that won't interfere with the edges of the front of the phone. Does anyone know of any cases like this or can you sell me on a soft backing that would again not interfere with the front experience? Thanks

Most cases have a lip along the sides that affects the curved corner of the phone. Havent seen any that don't actually. That being said, I'd reccomended the Nikon or ringke slim case now that they have fixed the issues with the early batch of cases.

Another vote for the Rinke Rearth SLIM. It's a fine case. It's very thin and makes the phone totally not slippery if you get the matte version. It feels good in your hands and will help protect the buttons from damage too. There isn't a ton of protection from drops as the top and bottom sides are pretty much exposed, but it's more or less what you are looking for short of some sort of thick back protector that sticks on like a screen protector.
Second on the nillkin, tho i would fancy the ringke if i was in the US...

Diztronic Hardshell Case VIDEO+WRITTEN REVIEW

Nexus 4 Diztronic Hardshell Case Review
$9.99- Amazon Link
$9.99- Diztronic Link
Design
5/5
First of all, this case is EXTREMELY thin. It's only 1mm thin, making it 25% thinner than the original TPU case. The back has a non glossy Diztronic logo on it and a slot cut open for the camera and speakers. It is a bit slippery, but won't catch lint on it or attract finger prints. Unlike other shell cases, this one isn't hard to take in and out. However, you definitely want to take it out periodically to make sure debris doesn't get caught in it and scratch the case. The edges of the case just barely go over the screen making a bit of a "lip". The lip is barely there and you may be able to fit a screen protector on it. The buttons are left exposed on the case making pressing the power button and volume rockers very easy.
Protection
4/5
This case does a decent job at protecting the phone while still keeping a thin profile. The top and bottom of the case are left somewhat vulnerable, yet I understand how it would be tough to cover that part while making the case a "hardshell". Keep in mind this case is only 1mm thick, so I'm grading the protection based on the case's target audience.
Final Verdict
4.5/5
This may be the thinnest case to ever hit the market. At $9.95 you get a lot of bang for your buck; this is a high quality case made with premium materials. You can tell Diztronic took the time to make sure they got everything right. This case is so thin you won't even notice it while still giving you some protection.
Great reviews. Thanks for taking the time to post these.

That's a tough question. If protection is more important than go for the TPU. Honestly, they're both great; I just can't decide.
Protection is very important as I tend to screw up sometimes diztronic ones seem to be the best ones available right now. So, what do you suggest? I know the TPU one is pretty awesome too!

Are you gadget guru?
Anyway, thanks for the review and exposure to this case. I never would have known about it. I've been considering the Rearth but everyone has been having issues (misaligned fit, bad delivery condition, leasing marks on the phone, jeez).
I already have the TPU case and the Slimbook from Poetic, but both are so bulky for daily use. So I just ordered this case, for $5! Pretty good price considering that's how much the knockoffs go for on eBay. And I certainly trust Exact-Deal and Poetic after my last purchase.

Yes, I am GGHD and I have to agree with you. I'm surprised there wasn't much buzz on the Palette. Everyone must've thought it was just another slim case, but it's definitely more than that. It has certainly surpassed what I expected getting. I agree with you completely on the Slimbook; I did a review on that too .
BTW, check out the Atmosphere too. It's pretty nice too if you're looking for protection and the slim factor. The only issue with the Palette is that it doesn't offer great protection.
I have been using the Ringke SLIM case for almost a month now and decided to give this one a shot since it was cheap. I got it an hour ago and have to say I prefer it to the Ringke. It feels more grippy and it's much easier to take off.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I didn't even know poetic had a slim case for the nexus 4 until now. I already have a ringke slim but I'm tempted to buy this. Also pretty nice that it somewhat covers the top and bottom!
I had a soft touch plastic back on my last phone and I definitely offer a more rubber-like feel. I also got my slim case today and while it's nice, it definitely isn't grippy. Imagine the HTC One X (not the X+).
However, the case is quite slim. Although, the phone always seems to get substantially bigger no matter how minimal the case is
Also, if anyone was wondering, the sides do not hamper swiping in from the edge. And I agree with GGHD, the case can be very easily removed and applied on a regular and frequent basis.
A lot of positive things about the case ergonomics, but a grippier material would have made it perfect.
I agree with the advice posts. While the Palette is by no means very grippy, it has more grip than the Diztronic Hardshell and according to the other guy, more grip than the Rearth Ringke Sim.

Currently have the Diztronic ultra hard shell and love the hell out of it. However, I love the thiness of this and because of the review saying it's actually THINNER than the Diztronic Ultra hard case, I had to see for myself lol. I bought one on ebay because total cost with shipping was cheaper there than amazon. (No prime)
Do you think the Poetic Atmosphere will provide decent drop protection around waist hight? (as it's plastic, rather than TPU)

It's hard to judge protection and I don't want to say it will protect from a certain height if it may not. I would say that it packs a lot of protection considering how think it is.

I have both and seeing that the Poetic is actually thinner, IMO I'd go with the Diztronic Ultra Hard shell. The Diztronic has a bit better grip IMO. I mean they both can be gripped well and for $5 bux shipped, its a great case, but very VERY minimal. I don't really think the front face has a defined lip. On the corner's it's raised a bit, but not like the diztronic. Diztronic wins on feel and fit but Poetic wins on the price an thinness.

TPU case recommendations?

I already have the diztronic tpu case, and its great except for the matte finish. The phone actually has less grip with the case on.
Are their any tpu cases out there with the same style as the diztronic but with a finish that actually provides some grip with still making the buttons easy to use?
the s-line case I bought ages ago has a nice grip to it but the buttons are a nightmare on that thing.

I highly suggest the tpu cases made by mercury. It has a nice grip to it (unless your hands are moist), with a beautiful finish.
There are cutouts for the buttons which is very easy to access.
I currently own both the diztronic and mercury cases, and I personally prefer the diztronic for its grip and ease of button use, and mercury for there nice range of colors and design.

They do protect pretty well and will protect your screen to because there's a lip on the front. Pics I will upload a little later (sorry! I m out of town).
If you're looking for a good strong protective case then the amzers are good but they don't look all that good though....
Sent from my |\|€×u$ 4
Well I got the A2 from cruzerlite (had one from on my one X) and out of driztronic, s-line and A2 the A2 wins.
The driztronic feels like it would offer more protection if the phone was dropped, but you would probably need that extra protection considering the finish they put on it is so slippery that you will be dropping it all time.
So while the cruzerlite does feel a bit thinner it just feels way better in the hand. The button cutouts are the perfect size making it easy to access, and while the buttons on the driztronic case were covered they did give a nice click when pushed. I just found the buttons were too flush with the case making it hard to feel were to push.
I will probably grab one of the mercury cases next just to compare all three of the "good" tpu cases out there.
As for the s-line, it might depend in who you get it from as the molds might be different from different places, but I got so fed up with the buttons on that case that I cut them out myself. What I found was the button covers on the case don't even line up with the buttons properly.

Boxwave TPU: http://amzn.com/B000GGBDF4
just received it and here's my c&p from my amazon review:
Simple, and great looking case that fully protects your nexus 4. The back is a matte finish, while the sides and front are a gloss material which help with grip. The buttons are covered and molded, which give it a high quality look and they feel good to press. The camera/speaker/charger/headphone cutouts are perfect and there's no branding on the case. This case is much better than the diztronic I have, which has a big ugly logo on the back, hard to press buttons, and hard to grip.
+1 Also forgot to mention the front lip on the boxwave isn't as tall as the diztronic. With the diztronic I had a hard time touching the edges of the screen
