You can't really ask if one phone is better than another, its a matter of opinion (and what needs you have for the phone.) The two phone you are asking us to compare don't even have the same operating system.

even thats a moot point because for instance the n=nokia n95 and the htc tytn 2 have bluetooth 2.0 meaning they work at the same speed now if you need to know internet speeds i suggest looking up the phones you would like to comapre using gsm arena.com and seeing which has the better conections
so if you look at the HTC G1 specs
and then the Xperia x1 specs youll see they both have HSDPA up to 7.2 mbps
but then this means you have to make note of which of the cariers in you area ca do the fastest speed for instance were i live i can only get a weak o2 2g signal but a HSDPA signal from orange

I have both the xli and a, US VERSION, both in like new condition and I do not know your currency well but you would want the i for 3g speeds, important to many, that one is black and I would sell for $550.00 us dollars. Hey everyone, as some of you might know, i have been trying to get an android phone for quite some time now. After having followed many device, i have been trying to get the Infuse since it was released. A friend of mine will be in NY tomorrow for a couple days and I am trying to have my cousin pick up the phone for me to give to my friend. He said there is an ATT by his work on 34th. I know that's not much info, but by anychance are any of you fmiliar with that location? My brother tried to get it for me in Boston and they kept telling him that they would not sell it to him without a contract. I am trying to avoid that bs this time around... SHould my cousin mention that I live out of the country and see if they are more willing? Anyways, any thoughts and or opinions are greatly appreciated. Hope this works out for me this time around.

Well my day went from great to sh*t in just a few minutes... I get a msg that my cousin is on his way to get me the Infuse at an ATT in NY so that he can give it to my buddy who is coming back to the DR tomorrow. Then i get the msg that they would not sell it to him off-contract... This keeps happening everytime i finally have someone in the US that can get the phone. Losing all hope...
Best Buy. There is a 24 hour one somewhere in the 30's in Manhattan.

I just wish i was the one that could do take care of it and i didn't have to have my friends and family jumping around and being given responses and answers that are mixed.
hmm. either way. it is a att product and you are paying full price for it. why not hit up att 1 800 number thur skype and see what you can get done.
maybe have your cousin wait there while your on the phone and have one of the managers from central call in to the store to authorise the sale.

am after a little help please. i am looking to buy the 64gb version of this phone if i can get an invite. but that is NOT what this thread is about. Im a little confused over the pricing structure and was hoping some folks could explain it to me and maybe say what they did?
Ok so i looked here http://oneplus.net/one and the price shows as $349 which converts to about £215. great that looks like an awesome price for this spec. Im sold and now i want one.
However, this morning whilst doing my usual reading and searching i happened upon this http://oneplus.net/uk/one which shows the price as £269?!?! Ok so now i am confused. there appears no difference between the phones linked and they are both apparently from the same official source. SO why the huge price difference??? Could i not just buy from the first link and save 20% or would they not ship the phone to england if i buy from that page, or worst still would i get hit with huge custom charges? If it just means the shipping takes longer than the price would justify the wait.
Sorry for the questions but im really on the edge about buying this phone and for £215 im sold but at £269 well thats a different sale i need to make to the missus lol.

Its because of tax reasons, haven't you noticed that tech is expensive in the UK?
The US is generally the cheapest place to get tech.

Price in UK is £269. Including VAT. If you buy in USD, I think you'd have to have it delivered to the US. £269 is still a fantastic price though...

My question was why are there two different prices listed for this phone one in gbp and one in dollars. And can i or anyone in the uk purchase the phone and pay in dollars? If its possible would anyone here know if we would have to pay customs duty?

ok guys just in case anyone else comes across this issue i think i know the coup now.
I went online to order the phone via an invite i was kindly given by a member here. It automatically took me to the price in us dollars so i went through the order process and when i tried to pay via paypal. It said i was in the wrong store and it forced me to the uk store and to then pay in gbp. So it did indeed ultimately cost me the extra 20%. I know i could have got it sent to a pal of mine in america but i didn't.
Hope this clarifies the situation for anyone else wondering.

Its pretty clear the oneplus/UK site 269 pretty simple? In us its 349 something like that. There's a difference in price because of different vat etc.

Hi, sry if I posted my question in the wrong area but I just recieved my Samsung Note 9. Been without a phone for 2.5 wks. It was nothing... (ahem... bu****it!!!)
Im an AT&T customer (I dont pay for phone service) so I was hoping if I bought an unlocked phone I might be able to root my device even though Im an AT&T customer. For some reason soon as you say AT&T customer, its like you have some super Covid strain cause nobody will come near you. Lol
Anyways, I would just like to be able to root my device so I can run a few of my fav apps which require root/super user. Im scared to even turn my device on because Im afraid AT&T is gonna patch it soon as I do and I wont be able to root my phone. Can someone please just tell me how best to proceed. Sry, I have not searched the forum yet. Im just in a hurry to get my phone back on so i can feel whole again. Hey sorry for the late response. Im guessing i got the US variant since it was for a Verizon or AT&T customer. Unfortunately, its a refurb and was DOA. So im sending it back today. Which phone would you buy on a $300 budget? The screen was scratched up pretty baf also so im glad it was dead out of the box. Is this something I should expect when buying a refurb. I assumed since i was paying close to market price for a Samsung Note 9 that it would be in better shape with no scratches or very few. This one was scratched up pretty good all the way around the edge of the screen.
I was also considering buying a brand new Samsung A71. Most sites online have the Google Pixel 4a listed as the top phone on a $300 budget. I just feel like Google is intrusive enough as it is already without owning a phone made by them but I hold the XDA community in high regard when it comes to cell phones, specially android variants so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and be a deciding factor in my purchase.
Again i just would like to be able to gain root/super_user permissions so i can run some of my fav apps that require root access. If im able to install some custom roms as well that would be fabulous but not necessarily a requirement. If ive learned anything at XDA its that AT&T customers are usually screwed when it comes to rooting phones, at least in the early stages of recently released cell phones.

I assumed since i was paying close to market price for a Samsung Note 9 that it would be in better shape with no scratches or very few. This one was scratched up pretty good all the way around the edge of the screen.
I was also considering buying a brand new Samsung A71. Most sites online have the Google Pixel 4a listed as the top phone on a $300 budget. I just feel like Google is intrusive enough as it is already without owning a phone made by them but I hold the XDA community in high regard when it comes to cell phones, specially android variants so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and be a deciding factor in my purchase.
Again i just would like to be able to gain root/super_user permissions so i can run some of my fav apps that require root access. If im able to install some custom roms as well that would be fabulous but not necessarily a requirement. If ive learned anything at XDA its that AT&T customers are usually screwed when it comes to rooting phones, at least in the early stages of recently released cell phones.

But anyway, there are a few things I should point out.
-> You should only buy Samsung phones (even budget ones) if you like OneUI. If you want a stock aosp ROM, then stay away from Samsung phones since they get the least amount of attention and get a Xiaomi instead. They're phones that have communities booming and offer good quality for the price
-> If you don't want AOSP and really enjoy OneUI, then avoid getting a Samsung phone that is meant for the U.S. market and get an international variant. All U.S. variant Samsung phones have their bootloader hard locked and you need to buy a token (extra money) to even be able to unlock the bootloader and root it. Keep in mind that SOME international variants have the Exynos chip so just FYI. Though some mid-rangers offer Snapdragon across the board (U.S. or International) but yeah just avoid U.S. variant phones if you want root.
-> Lastly, avoid the Galaxy A71, go for the A52 instead. The A52 is about the same price as the A71 (in some places you'll probably even find the A52 cheaper) and the A52 has higher refresh rate, water resistance, dual speakers, optical image stabilization and an SoC that is on par with the A71.
You can request through AT&T's tech support that they turn off OTAs on their end.

Or use Package Disabler to kill it.
