About:
This ROM is based on the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP). This was original made out of pure boredom and for personal use. After sharing it with a few people, we decided to take it a step further and turn it into something special while still having fun.
The main goal of this ROM is to have the latest and greatest features all under one ROM. The team and I, do not take any credit for any of the work that's associated with this ROM. With all due respect to those that are originally responsible for the code used in this ROM, we have simply taken something that was good and in our opinion, made it a little better.
AGAIN, please remember that this is NOT only FREE but is meant to be fun! I've chosen to share this with you guys, if you don't like it.....move along! Fanboys, trolls or whatever....find something else to do!

Frequently Asked Questions
Will other languages be included?
Yes, French, German, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, Russian, and a few others i'm forgetting off the top of my head will be added
What recovery should I use?
I recommend TWRP, whichever update works the best on your device is for you to decide
Do I need S-OFF to flash this ROM?
NO, you do NOT need S-OFF to flash this ROM
Why doesn't the "how to flash section" mention flashing boot.img
Most hboots will allow you to simply just flash a kernel.zip after the ROM itself and will boot just fine. (if not, flash boot.img via fastboot)
What kernel should I use?
I always recommend bubba kernel, I include the basic kernel (no OC, OV or anything else) feel free to flash whichever you like
Will there be nightlies?
No, I don't have the system resources for this
Does this ROM have screen tearing like CM and other AOSP roms?
According to reports from users on this ROM and all my others, NO, this ROM does NOT have screen tearing
Will you just up and leave like the other devs around here?
No, if I leave I will give you guys plenty of notice..
How often will this be updated?
Whenever I can get to it.. I have a life and I work a lot, and I'm still barely gettin by, so I'll update the most I can but no garuntees.
Do you accept donations?
YES! All donations are appreciated
How do I donate?
Under my user avatar there is a donate button
What will donations be used for?
To save up for college and/or to save up for a better computer for builds which will result in more development and more updates

np, ya'll are gonna love this... gives ya the best of aokp, cm, and other classics without having the same features in 10 different spots.. so you don't have to worry about features conflicting and such

Question... Why did you specified we should use 4.2.1 GAPPS? Are they more reliable? I've flashed in the past 4.2.2 GAPPS on other ROMS and I got no issues (including inverted ones). Personally I prefer inverted GAPPS so I'll look for such a package but I was wondering why you said about 4.2.1
Thanks for the ROM

GUYS, I think you're going to LOVE this ROM! We got a few things that we wanna add in the upcoming days BUT for right now.....this is the perfect combination in our opinion of mods and speed!
ENJOY!!!

'merica?? Hahahaha

Just flashed it! Thanks a bunch for sharing it looks sweet! Will report my experience in a bit...

Since it has RootBox features and CM I suggest (if I may) to add the following:
- RootBox's "dark" switch
- CM's latest phone apk. That one has option to show "network event notifications" when you have an incoming diverted call for ex.
Sent from nowhere over the air...

Just a quick comment, the fastest smoothest Ville ROM yet!

Ubuntu is fussy.. Still working to get it booting.. BUT when it is, keep in mind, nothing will really work.. it will be FAR from a daily.. it's just a developer preview on canonical's behalf

We got something that's a little different then SlimROM's dark UI switch.....just wait and see
Oh and about the CM phone feature, we will test it out and see how it goes and if it plays well with the ROM then it'll get pushed to the ROM.
Our goal with all due respect to the key players here (CM, AOKP, SlimROMs, Root-Box, etc) is that we want to have the latest and greatest in this ROM but at the same time....we don't want to just cherry pick everything under the sun just to say "hey we got that feature" and then have features conflict with each other and have 2-3 different ways of doing the same thing........you understand?
[EDIT]
Imma go find something to do hahahaha EVOL's got it!! Dude's a one man army!!

HAHAHAHAHAH, BUT Mazda did put this a whole lot better than i did, some of those other ROM's (who's name will not be mentioned) combine all these features from all these different roms and have multiple conflicting features and is basically just a sloppy way of combining the features from all the roms while creating confusion and hassle on the user's end when trying to set up their device the way they'd like it set up.. we're gonna avoid that whole fiasco and give ya'll one of the most complete roms around

Great ROM only thing I am missing is hardware keys control.

BUGS
--Camera is still not working.
--HDMI isn't working like usual
--Wireless tethering isn't an option
--I'm sure you guys will find the rest.
Screenies
Build 39
AOKP Changes
added ability to change host name (settings > dev > device hostname)
added ad-hoc network support
added adb over network
added AOKP stats (you can opt out, Settings > About > AOKP Statistics) www.stats.aokp.co
added bluewall firewall - RC > General UI > Less Notification Sounds
limits the number of notification sounds an app can play per X seconds
so like 1 GTalk ping/30s, but notifications will still be coming in
added "Device options" link in Settings for devices that have an app to tweak device-specific settings
right now I believe only tuna/aries/p1c have these, all credit goes to CM trees where these apps came from
improved weather code, shouldn't bother you everytime it updates weather now
added "copy to clipboard" option in "Share" dialogs throughout ANdroid
added ability to toggle to "new" and "original" music controls on the lockscreen
as always, tons of other device-specific and internal changes, find them all at http://gerrit.sudose...atus:merged,n,z
devices changes
p5: removed OTA assert, shouldn't be any more problems flashing
tuna: fixed vold.fstab file not being added properly, which led to MTP issues, core FCs
tuna: looks like the CM9 kernel was included with this build by mistake (due to the buildbot using inline kernels and some misc testing). It doesn't affect anything, just letting you guys know we know! Enjoy their code
added showcasemtd & mesmerizemtd
ville: YOU MUST WIPE!
misc other device changes -- ask your device maintainer
credit note: we try and preserve all proper authorship on git commits and the like, if you want to know who wrote a feature or where we got it from, check out git or gerrit and just browse through the commits!
Personal Changes
DSPManager still out. I'll try my best to get
Setting up GooManager on Nightlies, and RomKeeper on stables.
Kernel update to latest by mantera
Many other small updates that you can see here
Instructions on updating to newest version via RomKeeper
Go into the app
Look for a new update if there is one
Click on that version
Check out the info
Press menu>fetch
It will download the ROM (Or .delta)
Wait until it says 100%
Press menu>Install
It will boot into recovery and install it for you and reboot into system. Just like that.
For those who are wondering, I will not be updating the AndroidForums thread anymore. This and the one on VMRoms.com are my main threads that will be updated.
So you'll still be updating this ROM?

Sorry, haven't read that thread yet. But awesome, this is my favorite ROM currently. ^_^
I can't wait till you guys get Camera working, then I'm gonna use this on my friend's Triumph as his DD (currently using Cm7 G60 style final ). I use AOKP on my GNex and it's the greatest ROM evar IMHO. A lot of those AOKP guys were from the Fascinate kangbang and pool party roms and they were my favorite prior's
Awesome, glad to see this being continued, really like this rom can't wait till I can use it as a daily rom, running cm7 g60 final.mobster tweaked, also a [email protected] rom thanks for the work y'all do

Right now it's one the list of things to fix but no ETA right now. rivs from AF (Android Forums) has been working on it.
Maybe its just me but do anybody else have to activate their phone after flashing AOKP Bulid 39? I flashed back to CM9 and I'm no need to I just though I'll point it out.

Personally haven't flashed it yet. I'll try reproducing it right now.
I've been messing with the nightlies a lot lately. So a few of them are bad (not everything working). Working on a stable build

There are many great ROMs out there, with the more popular ones being AOSPA (ParanoidAndroid), CM10.1, and AOKP. Being all great ROMs, it is sometimes difficult to choose which one you want to run. Why choose when you can have all three? P.A.C.-Man ROM is combination of all three ROMs, so you don't need to keep switching or deciding between which one to flash. Get all of the features in one ROM! The sources are here.. Enjoy

FAQ
FAQRead ALL of this before posting in this thread! Thanks.
Q: I don't use the on-screen softkeys. How do I remove the navigation bar?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Interface, under Workspace drag the slider for "Navigation Bar Size" to 0%.
Q: How do I disable the dual-pane layout that is preset in some apps (Settings, Gmail, etc.)?
A:Go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and choose the app that you want to change. In the top right hand corner, click "Reset" and it will change the DPI and the layout of that app to the Workspace default that you have set.
Q: Some ROM Control options do not work?
A: ROM Control is still a WIP as of right now. The frameworks part of ROM Control has yet to be merged, so that's why some settings are blank. Please give some time, and it will be fixed in the near future.

No, I don't, as I don't own a One S anymore. I am basically blind developing, but I am pretty sure that this will work fine. If users report any issues, I will fix them immediately.

I tried to install like a normal apk and it didn't work (didn't think it would)
so I moved it to /system/app and it still doesn't do anything.
also... this is kinda me being obsessive/ocd.... but on the boot animation the background for the pacman/ghost is not completely black... you can see the square around the picture, like I said, not a big deal, just me being obsessive.
On the positive side...
rom is QUICK! lightening fast man!
of course, way to early to tell how the battery life will be.
one thing I would really like to see is the CM10 circle battery with percentage, the one that rotates when charging, that is just slick.
I was wondering about the lack of PA settings. Now I know!
Great job on this ROM. It is super fast. And I love the loads of settings!
Klin my master port it to S3 please. All of S3 community is waiting for non-sense ROM.

Hey Klin,
I´m wondering if you are sleeping at some time...?!
How can one single person develop so many different ROMs (And what is even more import so many GREAT WORKING ROMs..:?!?!?!)
You do so much for us, even though you don´t ow the HOS anymore... Your work is so much appreciated!
Thanks again and again and again...
I might copy this Post to my clipboard as I think it wont take long until I post it in some other thread again
Wish you all the best and thanks again! Will give this one a whirl rigth now
Btw, don´t forget to get some sleep... :good:
EDIT: Maybe you could add a little of you unofficial Baked ROM as well... Have not booted this PACman one yet, but your Baked rom has been my most favourite one since you first release

P A C ALL IN 1
DESCRIPTION
The struggle to find the rom you need is over. Some people like CyanogenMod 10, Some prefer AOKP, Some like the advantages of Paranoid Android
To cure your rom hunt we have come up with the P A C man Rom.
PACman is a unique rom.
We have picked the best features from CM10, Aokp and PA and combined them in a single rom so you get the experience you deserve
To enjoy the features of every available project without the hassle of flashing regularly.
The Rom is rock stable for an average user but keep in mind the Rom is in WIP stage so expect some minor hickups but we are trying our best to resolve these issues

NOTES
- Gapps
Google let the source code available, but the google apps (google play, gmail, etc) must not be included in the rom. In order to really use your device, you must add them by flashing them.
Three possibility :
1) Multipack v3, allows to add 4.1 apps, but also to specify your gps region, change the launcher, the font etc.. flash it in the recovery, and use the touch menu from AROMA
2) 4.1.2 gapps : the complete and official gapps (85 Mo)
3) Minimal 4.1.2 gapps : the minimal version (11Mo)
4) use h1n1's gapps for CM10
- Paranoid add-on :
It adds the paranoid settings, with the possibility to specify plenty of settings per app, like the type of display (tablet/phone) the dpi etc.. It is really a great addition.
It is not included by default in the rom as molesarecoming and D4rKn3sSyS, the PA devs have asked not to implement their work in other ROM.
I would have continue to develop only PA if it was still maintained, but the Paranoid team split, with a new branch created AOSPA, which is not available and only developed on nexus. The old branch with CM stuff is not updated.
If the zip does not add, you can unzip it, take the apk and put it in /system/app, and chmod it 644.
That's why i took the decision to put the add-on, in order to benefit from these functions. But the members that deserves your gratitude are molesarecoming and D4rKn3sSyS.
- Backup and restore in recovery :
To make a working backup, please select the tar format in the backup menu of CWM 6.x.x. recovery. This one works well.
Really nice work. :good:

strange, Razielwolfy told me that it was not working ..
this rom is very great but it seem to be lagging in front of CM10
with the same app installed i have 59 mb free ram with PAC and i have around of 100mb free with cm10
i've added some tweaks by hand on the last build, and they might not be so great, in addiiton of V6-supercharger
otherwise, just go back to the previous build, with the mods

Do remember that the free amount of ram you still have has nothing to do with how fast your phone is this is a common mistake people make!
The apps that stay in your RAM are staying there until you need RAM for another app and your device will automatically clear some idle apps to make space for the other app..
Then what is so great about this?
Well if you launch a app again which was still in the RAM memory it starts a lot faster. So basicly its pretty health for a device to be completely out of RAM :highfive:
For people who are interested in more read this article
http://www.rt-embedded.com/blog/archives/linux-memory-consumption/
(note that Android is based on linux for those who didn't know)
i know that but in the reality this rom is less reactive!
i have tried the previous version and it was the same problem
less reactive than what ? previous version with or without mods.. be constructive please
it is less reactuve than cm10 but it is the same as the previous build
i am sad because i prefer the look of pac like in menu or web browser
i can notice also strange scrolling in all JB roms

Hmmm.... I'm about to flash the latest PAC build, but I'm using the first one now. I have to say that it's very smooth and fast and responsive on my phone. Matter of fact that's one thing that been a fact since the very first rom build Ben put out. Since just about all that have tried this rom don't have the same experience as you, maybe something happening during the flashing process or maybe even something running in the background is causing your glitches. Just a thought.

i t s not the first time i flashed rom but i noticed on pac rom the running process parameter takes 40mb of ram
Weird I had the opposite feeling with those roms.
CM10 felt very sluggish for me and looked like it had trouble running on my phone
PAC rom however runs smooth like a ICS rom would run its the best and fastest JB rom I have seen till now (although I haven't tried MIUI yet)
here s antutu score
and ı cant make setting ui to 200 dpi m changed it to phone ui but ı cant set dpi bigger i want 200 dpi on pa setting its possible but on pac ıt s not possible :/

Well all I can say is I'm using the Jan 8th release now. Smooth as glass. Extremely responsive. No lag,no stutter, no nothing to hinder navigating the rom. I have missed a few pages, so I'll ask if anyone else is reporting this issue.
Sent from my OT-995 using xda premium
i use the first release of pac rom for ot995, so far no problems. i do experience some lag, but it might be of apps installed (like viber, facebook and other apps that stay active even if screen is locked). i downloaded the today release, and i'm about to try it (saw v6 supercharge in changelog )
ı ll take paranoid prefences apk and take system now m changing setting dpi hehe

What's Broken:
HALO's "Hide when inactive" function isn't working properly (sends the HALO bubble completely out of sight)
Please report all other bugs experienced here.
How to flash:
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
Flash-freeze the ROM & GApps at the coldest temperature possible! (flash as usual, hehe)

Thank you for reporting this Sam, I never had that issue because earlier builds went by fine. Even updating to the version I shared with you all wasn't a problem, but damn, I'm sorry for the mess.
It's very late where I am, so what I'll do is replace the download link with an older, working build I already have uploaded. You can use it until I can re-upload a property working update for you all, though they suffer from a autobrightnees bug I fixed in this one. -_- Again, sorry everyone.

You're welcome Az and thank you as well. I don't think I'll take on another build project yet since I'm already building this, CM-Remix and Beanstalk, but I know about SOKP.
!~Notice for everyone~!: I'll be uploading the working AICP 4.0 sometime soon but I have some bad news. I had some strange issues that prevented me from accessing my Linux HDD (dual booting Windows 7/Linux Mint). As a result, I had to format the HDD which had all the downloaded rom building sources, now gone.
So I have to reinstall Linux and setup everything all over again, meaning any updates/fixes will be on hold until I've sorted it all out. Thank you for understanding.

~Edit~: Alright everyone, the working v4.0 has been uploaded and added to the OP alongside the older 3.5.

Well I I use Nova launcher as my default so I don't know of any way to get rid of it on the stock launcher. Check in settings>home to see if it has any extra options. If not, then I believe you may have to resort to such methods of removing it.

This rom probably uses Google Now Launcher,
to remove it and replace with another launce, un-pack rom, go to system/apps/ and search for the launcher app and remove...be sure to put a replacement launcher as well...after that you could zip it again and update install...
Or...you could just install another launcher from the play store and choose to hide the Google Search bar :silly:

Hey another thing.. for the life of me i cannot create a system.img or data.img larger than 1000, when i try to make them 2000 it says fat32 cannot parse.. or something like that.. the thing is thatwhenever im re installing all my apps it gets clogged if i only have 1gb of space.. so far i have transfered all the apps it lets me to the sd.. but.. there must be something im doing wrong here..
What is the KERNEL on thsi ROM ?>?
Hey !! ACE...can you tell me what kerenel this ROM uses ?
Altered's kernel or JBX ??

That's a general LP bug, similar with the one when phone was FC when trying to clear call history. And it's not only when importing contacts but also when exporting them.
Several questions tho... Why do you import contacts and you're not satisfied with them syncing from google account?
Have you tried restoring contacts with TB?

I prefer to export my phone contact as vcf instead of syncing with google, maily cause anything you do through google adds them to your address book.. i dont need email contacts saved.. plus i just prefer the hardcopy method and not rely on clouds to assist me.. I never back up any system apps in TB, only market dl apps..
I took your insight on syncing. logged into google deleted all the contacts there, imported my vcf there then synced it to the phone.. now to turn off sync..
Been running this for like 4-5 days now, initially with stock kernel but now with 2nd DEC Icecode using fauxclock for touchboost. Battery life on stock wasn't great and it seems to have improved on icecode. Very stable ROM.

I have to give it to you guys, you guys are awesome! Was on CandyKat 1.6.2, followed all your instructions for this ROM and the install went perfectly! The ROM itself is working flawlessly so far, wifi is good, cell network is good, all my google stuff sync'ed, everything just works like it should along with some custom Candy pieces thrown in. SD Card is working also...Big Props to all you devs who put this together and are keeping the One S alive! Keep up the good work!

This rom does not have superuser implemented - so, no root access, if you don't install it seperately.
Great, can I dirty flash that over CM12 or do I need to do a factory reset ?

Root is implemented but doesn't work...
You need to activate it under settings /developer options

I also must say I like how you listed all the Candy features in the OP along with where to find them in the ROM, very helpful...
