P A C ALL IN 1
DESCRIPTION
The struggle to find the rom you need is over. Some people like CyanogenMod 10, Some prefer AOKP, Some like the advantages of Paranoid Android
To cure your rom hunt we have come up with the P A C man Rom.
PACman is a unique rom.
We have picked the best features from CM10, Aokp and PA and combined them in a single rom so you get the experience you deserve
To enjoy the features of every available project without the hassle of flashing regularly.
The Rom is rock stable for an average user but keep in mind the Rom is in WIP stage so expect some minor hickups but we are trying our best to resolve these issues

NOTES
- Gapps
Google let the source code available, but the google apps (google play, gmail, etc) must not be included in the rom. In order to really use your device, you must add them by flashing them.
Three possibility :
1) Multipack v3, allows to add 4.1 apps, but also to specify your gps region, change the launcher, the font etc.. flash it in the recovery, and use the touch menu from AROMA
2) 4.1.2 gapps : the complete and official gapps (85 Mo)
3) Minimal 4.1.2 gapps : the minimal version (11Mo)
4) use h1n1's gapps for CM10
- Paranoid add-on :
It adds the paranoid settings, with the possibility to specify plenty of settings per app, like the type of display (tablet/phone) the dpi etc.. It is really a great addition.
It is not included by default in the rom as molesarecoming and D4rKn3sSyS, the PA devs have asked not to implement their work in other ROM.
I would have continue to develop only PA if it was still maintained, but the Paranoid team split, with a new branch created AOSPA, which is not available and only developed on nexus. The old branch with CM stuff is not updated.
If the zip does not add, you can unzip it, take the apk and put it in /system/app, and chmod it 644.
That's why i took the decision to put the add-on, in order to benefit from these functions. But the members that deserves your gratitude are molesarecoming and D4rKn3sSyS.
- Backup and restore in recovery :
To make a working backup, please select the tar format in the backup menu of CWM 6.x.x. recovery. This one works well.

Really nice work. :good:

strange, Razielwolfy told me that it was not working ..

this rom is very great but it seem to be lagging in front of CM10
with the same app installed i have 59 mb free ram with PAC and i have around of 100mb free with cm10

i've added some tweaks by hand on the last build, and they might not be so great, in addiiton of V6-supercharger
otherwise, just go back to the previous build, with the mods

Do remember that the free amount of ram you still have has nothing to do with how fast your phone is this is a common mistake people make!
The apps that stay in your RAM are staying there until you need RAM for another app and your device will automatically clear some idle apps to make space for the other app..
Then what is so great about this?
Well if you launch a app again which was still in the RAM memory it starts a lot faster. So basicly its pretty health for a device to be completely out of RAM :highfive:
For people who are interested in more read this article
http://www.rt-embedded.com/blog/archives/linux-memory-consumption/
(note that Android is based on linux for those who didn't know)

i know that but in the reality this rom is less reactive!
i have tried the previous version and it was the same problem

less reactive than what ? previous version with or without mods.. be constructive please

it is less reactuve than cm10 but it is the same as the previous build
i am sad because i prefer the look of pac like in menu or web browser
i can notice also strange scrolling in all JB roms

Hmmm.... I'm about to flash the latest PAC build, but I'm using the first one now. I have to say that it's very smooth and fast and responsive on my phone. Matter of fact that's one thing that been a fact since the very first rom build Ben put out. Since just about all that have tried this rom don't have the same experience as you, maybe something happening during the flashing process or maybe even something running in the background is causing your glitches. Just a thought.

i t s not the first time i flashed rom but i noticed on pac rom the running process parameter takes 40mb of ram

Weird I had the opposite feeling with those roms.
CM10 felt very sluggish for me and looked like it had trouble running on my phone
PAC rom however runs smooth like a ICS rom would run its the best and fastest JB rom I have seen till now (although I haven't tried MIUI yet)

here s antutu score
and ı cant make setting ui to 200 dpi m changed it to phone ui but ı cant set dpi bigger i want 200 dpi on pa setting its possible but on pac ıt s not possible :/
look here

Well all I can say is I'm using the Jan 8th release now. Smooth as glass. Extremely responsive. No lag,no stutter, no nothing to hinder navigating the rom. I have missed a few pages, so I'll ask if anyone else is reporting this issue.
Sent from my OT-995 using xda premium

i use the first release of pac rom for ot995, so far no problems. i do experience some lag, but it might be of apps installed (like viber, facebook and other apps that stay active even if screen is locked). i downloaded the today release, and i'm about to try it (saw v6 supercharge in changelog )

ı ll take paranoid prefences apk and take system now m changing setting dpi hehe

Aside from spamming, you don't understand that Lolation ports ROMs and doesn't work with kernels. He uses Dhiru's kernel for everything. All the bugs are in the kernel. Hence, Lolation is having fun porting beautiful ROMs for you to choose from.

Maybe he meant that the advantage is fixing current ROMs issues not porting new ROMs with same issues ! Flashing new ROM with same issues is time wasting .... Maybe this is his point of view

difficult to follow an OTA when all resources exchange EVERY update
I see all the questions on the topics ota
I received PMs for me I have proposed hosting the event must be reliable beings now because I removed all rom
It is true that given the number of downloads that shook a good idea

I guess every one know PACman, it's CM+AOKP+PA. So same bugs, same features. I didn't added, removed, or modified, anything - just put the p720 device tree into the source (synced against latest repos) and built it. So all credits goes to the awesome CyanogenMod Team, and of course the folks from ParanoidAndroid and PACman.
And many thanks to the whole community, without XDA and the awesome tutorials this wouldn't be possible.
How to flash: Same like CM10. If I need to tell you this, you better don't flash
Not working: 3D Features of course
No Gapps included! Flash the usual jellybean pack, like found here –> Goo.im
Remark: Don't be to harsh, this is my first rom
Source: In case anyone want it, all "my" sources are on Github.
Kernel: https://github.com/mcdope/lge-kernel-omap4/tree/3.0-workingmerge#readme (Make sure you use the "3.0-workingmerge" branch, master compiles fine but wouldn't boot)
android_vendor_pac: https://github.com/mcdope/android_vendor_pac
r2 - First update!
Added (or better said removed from packaging removal) ParanoidPreferences
Added ParanoidWallpapers
Added LG ICS Bootanimation (sourced from androidbootanimation.com)
Newest jellybean sources from all upstream repos
Download Update #1 / r2 -> [obsolete]
r3 - Second update!
Removed Superuser + SuperSU, added koush's variant instead
Updated kernel from 3.0.21 to 3.0.39! Performance, and hopefully battery, improvements
Antutu Score: ~450 points increase
Quadrant Score: ~300 points increase
Note: benchmarks got done @ 1200 Mhz and performance scheduler, but kernel defaults to 1000Mhz and interactive! You can adjust this in the usual places...
Again synced with latest upstream sources, but no real changes there...
Download Update #2 / r3 -> p720_PAC_JB_4.1.2-v19.3.0_r3-final.zip - 140.54 MB
NOTE: I've stopped all work on this ROM, since I got annoyed from not getting CM10.1 to boot and the loosy battery performance of the 3D Max. So my 3D Max went to the pocket of my wife and I switched to a more developer friendly device - Xperia Z. I'll still answer questions here (no PMs please - esp. if you disabled recieving them ), but no updates anymore for sure. There wouldn't be real changes anyway...
ANOTHER NOTE, THREE YEARS LATER: This ROM is still dead - nothing changed from the infos in this thread. There is NO need to ask me questions about it by PM. Which, on another note, sucks anyway - questions belong in the thread! Even if I wanted to answer them, I couldn't - see, it's ridiculous there is even a need to tell so, I haven't used it for 3 years now... Also I recommend to stay away from this device as far as you can - it just sucks.
Thanks for the rom. Gotta love the PAC. Which CM10 built did you use?

Its compiled from latest jellybean branch, so its CM10.
There is currently no CM10.1 device tree for our p720, but i will try to get a working 10.1 compile, but that wont be as easy as this so dont expect much. Like written, im totally new to Android builds xD

I don't know why to be honest. But as far as i know (which isn't very far in this case ) Android (or the kernel) reserves some for himself which is subtracted from the shown RAM

If you're asking if 3D is working, see OP - or the post right in front of yours . About kernel: it's based on the CM10 omap4-common kernel, but patched. For details about the changes see my Github log. What do you mean with out date?
Thanks for your ROM, I was thinking about cutomizing it.

IF no, any clues or tips ?

Even if I had problems with it, the cool thing about GPL code is that it wouldn't matter But no, i've got no problem with it - go ahead and pimp the hell out of it.
But be careful if you use "my" kernel, and/or device tree. The github for both has a bunch of commits that never went into this rom. This is because of many tries to get CM10.1 based code booting (getting it to compile was easy, but hangs on bootscreen forever - i gave up on it). If you wanna fiddle with it, and get problems, i'll try to help you. But i don't have the Max anymore for testing...
I've got annoyed from not getting CM10.1 to work and the absolutly crappy battery life. So i would be perfectly fine if you "overtake" it. (Got myself a yuga / Xperia Z and dumped the LG to my wife - thanks to a tax payback )

Thanks for your fast answer man!
Just one tip I promise that I don´t bother you anymore.
By now I was messing with copying files from one rom to another, some configurations, but I couldn´t understand for example why some apps don´t run in JellyBean ? Like the 3D ones and a non-3D like Polaris Office and Radio FM, its because of the framework or the lib ? or both ?
call echo problem ?
Hi
after years...
I've searched the whole internet for a mirror of this rom but no luck
anyone can upload it for me?

Frequent Q&A
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb and make sure the SElinus is permissive. This is CM common issue atm. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal doesn't work well on this phone so I removed it as it is usable but laggy.
Q: Trebuchet launcher randomly crashes. WHY?
A: Who knows? Install another launcher then since this is existed on galaxy s also - i9000.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: I got Bluetoothshare FC at the setup and every times I turned the Bluetooth on. What was going on?
A: It is one of Slim issue atm. Until Slim team make it to their first stable build, there will be various random bugs here and there so just live with it if u can .
More that has been answered here.

My advice: Don't port it or u will have Slim devs piss u off lol, build it instead .
Okay Mr. Dao ^_^ but since I'm new to the whole building could you point me in the right direction?....since I want to build a stable JB ROM for our device that has inline headphones controls working

@Young_Azul Your signature is incorrect The i9000 works fine with Rom Manager as does the Vibrant. In fact, it even comes as bloat on some of their ROMs

Great work! But unfortunately I'm having trouble downloading this from Goo. It just hangs at 99% finished and eventually stops downloading. I tried downloading from my laptop and my phone, both do the same thing, so i assume this is a problem with Goo. Can anyone else download it?

I grabbed it a few hours ago using my PC without any problems. Goo can be temperamental.

Man i love Slim every time a new slim rom comes out it becomes my daily driver for at least 2 weeks which is insanely long for my flashoholic self Keep up all the great roms . Its fast clean and thats my favorite
I just came over here from the Sidekick 4G forums (we are waiting for Gingerbread and *with a prayer* maybe some more devs will pick up the device so we can have ICS..)
Anyway, I have been sifting through the many awesome ROMS for this device and I have to say, this is the best ROM I have flashed yet! I flip back and forth through many but I think I found a winner

its 4.2.2 ..
@shivam- its exactly that i wanted. SIMPLY GREAT. first boot up free ram is more than 220 MB!!!
few things though
1- incoming call volume is lower than stock ROM. i can change through engineering mod but can u please check the reason?
2- Nemus is taking around 30 mb ram, i think that stock jb launcher will use lower RAM.
3- what are the fonts that you used? they are good.
ROM is very stable. no issue with themes or anything so far. :fingers-crossed:Kudos ..

Nemus is more better than stock , as i have seen stock takes sometimes more than 42 Mb when using time to time its size increases, when you restart you will see loss in its size as i have tested many launchers i found this the lightest with all type of feature which stock doesnt have rest is on you all as its your ROM customise the way u like and fonts are taken from 4.3 JB and realy looking awsome with this ROM. Well it takes lots of headache in making it stable and less in size many times i got bootloop i have to fix lots of misbehavior's due to lack of drivers etc. Buddy its really not so ease to make a ROM it takes lots of time and patience. But when I get motivated by people like you it boost me more to give you all best I can do.

well you and sachin both are correct about font name even I didnt used 4.3 till now but from where i got it ,it has prescribed it as JB 4.3 Fonts so even am not much clear about fonts but what we have to do with this, its looking cool although so enjoy the ROM and its sleekness smoothness and liteness.

Possibility of Ubuntu Touch
Hi guys!
was browsing though forums and found the following link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182442
These many devices have Recieved Ubuntu touch port... i am just curious what are the possibilities of having it on our device.
I know we need Kernel sources specifically for our device ... but hey we said that about Jellybean too when we were on ICS.
But due too awesome work of devs from all over the globe we could get JB 4.1 (by Blu's update) and now we are running 4.2.2...
If we collaborate with other devs we might get some help or insight in this matter.
I just know that Ubuntu ports are based on Cyanogenmods and we dont have one...but other devices too using MTK have got possibility of ubuntu ports (such as Canvas HD...it is in the list)... i am no expert.
However i just wanted to understand the degree of difficulty in achieving this though discussion.

Buddy without kernel sources its impossible for us to build anything as am strucked on my kernel work due to lack of RIL and display drivers(got the driver but still not working) and also touch drivers , although if Canvas HD got Ubuntu Touch ported for it I(we) need to work a lot to make it stable for our devices.
However I will look into this if got any success I will let you all know. :good::victory:

Main Features
1. Fast, stable and intended for gamers
2. Built from CM11 source with O3 optimizations, heavily debloated , no 3rd party apps are installed.
3. Modified CM Kernel included (for now, since CyanCore is not yet ready)
4. Additional tweaks ( vary from version to version )
5. For those people who love ROMs with lots of themes , customizations , apps etc , please leave now , you will be disappointed , this ROM is not for you.
I understand that my ROM will sound simple and backward to many, but it is a stable and fast base for gaming, probably the fastest without OC, and with OC, it flies.......
Due to the cleanness of this ROM, it will provide exceptional battery backup too.
So do you users want a clean gaming oriented ROM or do you want your gaming to be riddled with problems and lags forever?
Feature Requests accepted, but only stuff which enhances the speed and stability, or betters gaming speed without lessening stability will be added.
Known Bugs
-None (few random reboots)
Install Procedure for best performance

So after a few days on v1
Battery drains fast, but not faster tha with other 4+ ROMS, but i thought that might resolved, guess not. Also I still experience major battery drains (~30%) after reboots, but that also did happen with other 4+ ROMs.
I am experiencig various random app FCs, mantano reader, whats app, and other apps, and also whith the dialer when i place a call, but if you dont dismiss the message you can in fact make the call.
Oh and the music player never worked :S
might have time to flash v2 today, hope these problems are solved! also im still looking for google now voice commands and cards...
I like your ROM, its a nice idea. But if this is a gaming rom then OC is a must. If you overclock it its gonna be a beast and one of the best out there, so please consider that.
