Smoothest sense rom - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi all.
I love sense. I also love my phone running smooth.
I have recently flashed viper and it is fantastic from pretty much every aspect except I get lags ask the time. Drives me nuts.
I was wondering what your experiences are with alternatives.
I know everyone will say ditch sense, hell I am close having just come from 4.2.2 but I keep going back to sense but eventually flashing away due to the lagging.
Any insight would be fantastic

I am running 3.2.6 with elemental 5.4 on default settings. With my normal usage I can get 2 days out of battery with no lags at all. Check the apps that you are using and give it a couple of days to settle in. I like the Avatar Rom wich also gets good battery life but it is still W.I.P.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

I've never had any luck with Elemental or Bulletproof Kernels on my device. Always laggy starting up from sleep.
I tried everything - increased voltage, min CPU, minfree settings etc. and still laggy.
Must be my device as many people have great results - just not me (and a few others I've seen post).
For some reason stock outperforms custom kernels on my device everytime.
I'm running HatkaXL at the moment with stock kernel and it runs great.

Same here. I've tried every configuration I can with both those kernels and I get worse battery life and lagginess than I do using viper stock kernel
Sent from my VENOMized HoxL

Lag even with minfree set to stock in venom tweaks? As soon as I did that all of my lag went away. Been perfectly smooth ever since.

I must say I never played with min free.
I was running elemental (current) with its default settings.
I have always had issues with viper, guessing my device just doesn't agree with it. Shane because I love the Rom and the amount of work that has been put into it is crazy

Best No Sense/Senseless Rom

Hi everyone,
As the title suggest, which Rom would you recommend.
I don't want CM7 or AOSP as i want everything to work!
I want something stable for daily use
Thank you
Hypernosense beta0.6. Try it to believe!
If it's not CM7 or AOSP then the ROM that you want doesn't exist.

hyperNONsense used it for awhile loved it
Do sense less roms still have to have the screen unlocked before you can answer a call?
Sent from my Sensation using XDA App
afaik i can answer a call without unlocking on both hypersensation and hypernonsense...
ontopic - i suggest you to try out hypersensation,at the beggining i was skeptic too but everything is extremely smooth(kristofpetho took it to a whole new level ),only thing i dont like is camera but its not that bad...if you dont like cm7 then try out hypernonsense(beats, amazecam and other things)...
If you don't want sense, why buy a HTC phone???

I'm using HyperSensation downclocked at 800 and is running super smooth like if i didn't underclock.

I have the same question. I will be getting my sensation tomorrow(hopefully) and would like to know ROM is the best for battery life, UI and looks.
i have looked at some ROM's and i like this one MIUI.us HTC Sensation 1.11.25 but im not sure how good is the battery and if there are better ones out there.
Thanks
I've been meaning to try hypernosense. That rom looks great and I'm just plain tired of Rosie launcher.
But if you're not into the CM-based variants, you can always grab the fastest, most stable Sense rom and run lukogriffioen's no sense script over it. I like this script because it removes more stuff than the ones we have in the Sensation forum and you get to keep the Sense lockscreen if you want. Only thing I don't like about this script is that it installs Launcher Pro and Go SMS, but whatever I took them both out and put an English translated 360 Launcher and stock SMS app in their places.
Just throwing out another alternative if you don't like any of the current no sense roms. Just make your own.
i couldnt find anything on hypernosense on the internet.
I googled it and nothing came up. Am i missing something?

I know this is not what you said you wanted but I highly suggest MIUI buy miui.us. It is real nice and stable, absolutely wonderful on battery life on the Bricked kernel OC'd at 1.5GHz.
I don't have a screenie so you'll just have to take my word for it but with the stock battery, everything syncing, wifi and 3g, 40% brightness and like I said OC'd to 1.53 I get FAR better battery life than I did on ARHD DC'd to 1Ghz. Same thing for the stock rom at 800mhz, SENSEaY at 1Ghz and even InsertCoin at 1Ghz.
You will however have to either push or move a new camera apk to the system because the stock one fcs when you try to take a picture. That has been my only issue so far and its a pretty simple fix.
You can also install the stock GB launcher from the market if you don't like the stock one.
I like hypernonsense... it combines the best aspects of CM7 and Sense, and its simple and clean, quick and snappy.

Everyone's processor will be able to handle different overclock settings. Some will run at 2.0 all day every day with no problem, some will reboot every 5 minutes at 1.2. Find what's best for you and go with it.
Everyone is running the ROM that they found worked best for them. This is a development forum and the developers have all put hundreds/thousands of hours into their ROMs and all shine in their own light. What works best for you may not work best for others, and being that it's a development forum, there will always be bugs/quirks to be worked out. That said, I recommend flashing every single ROM on this forum, testing them out for a few days, and finding what's best for you.

The redemption rom is pretty good on battery but since the I4G has a small battery to begin with I would suggest using a vanilla rom/aokp and turning off mobile data, wifi, etc when it's not needed

I feel sorry for you guys. I don't know how you people use smartphones and can't figure out how to max your battery life. Turn off data, wifi, bluetooth, and gps when you are not actively using them. Always on mobile data is a killer. Disable all push notifications. And the biggest one is set custom automatic brightness adjustment. I set mine manually most of the time because stock, particularly with sense, is way too high. Even in a pitch black room it won't dial the back light down to minimum.

From my experience, you could try the Virtuous rom with sense 3.5, it has pretty good battery life.
I've had my Inspire for a year and two months aprox., still with the stock battery. On GB the best battery life I had was on Virtuous Affinity 2.05, MIUI 2.4.20, and CM7.2 with LC's kernel. Also, IceColdSandwich 8.6.1 has given me a pretty good battery life. Yesterday I flashed JellyTime R12 and can't talk too much about this one. Always remember the basics, turn off stuff you are not using. And remember, every phone is different so the best way to know is to flash yourself and test for a few days.

I recently switched to Sabsa Prime 6.0 from ARHD 6.3.2 and battery life has a noticible improvement, as well as performance. Plus it's working ICS.
I don't know if it's my usage or what..None of the ROM gave me battery life of more than a day.Right now due to lot of chatting,i hardly get a day backup.
Used Existz's AOSPX,IceColdSandwich and now finally on Sabsa Prime v6.0
----------------
Device:Inspire 4G
ROM:Sabsa Prime v6.0
Kernel:virtuous_infinity-v1.35.0
I am a moderate to heavy user and I work in a poor coverage area. All roms I have used, FroYo, GB, ICS, AOSP or Sense, get me to lunch. I plug in while on my break and that will get me home. I never go anywhere without car and wall chargers. Use it how you want. With the size of the battery and the size of the display, you won't get a lot of use between charging.
Not just a pretty Pickle.

Looks like your CPU is underclocked or set to a power-saving governor. Check the Performance tab under settings.
Honestly, it's not worth worrying about, unless you really care about benchmarks. Are you noticing any actual performance issues in day-to-day use?
Arbitrary numbers mean nothing.
As long as your phone handles the task, who cares?

Quadrant scores are always a bit lower on AOSP builds. Doesn't mean squat for real world performance.

nice one
The only Android phone I've had where Quadrant scores are really high compared to stock with Cyanogenmod was an Atrix. It jumped from around 2500 to 5500.That's 3000 over stock. It didn't show too much of a difference though like it sounds. Every other phone I've stayed nearly the same or a little less.

Ehm. The "what works best on your phone" thing might apply to overclocking, but it certainly doesn't apply to general settings of a kernel. It's all a matter of preference.

Just curious, why are people overclocking to 1.7? Seems like everything is smooth as butter at 1.5 and it gives you a fair bit more battery when you clock lower, which is pretty important on a phone without a removable battery. Just curious
