[HELP]send files using OI File Manager - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

Isn't there anyway to send multiple files via BT using this app?
Because when i try doing this, it only allows me to send using Message things.

What file manager are you using? Try ES File explorer from the Market.
P.S. : Are you using a file manager at all?? Or are you looking for the transferred apks in the app drawer? Trust me, i know a dude who was doing exactly that!!!

You're right mate, but there is no reason he shouldn't be able to see apk files transferred to the sd card.
I believe that is a more fundamental thing that should be taken care of, rather than looking for a workaround to install apps. Don't you agree?

See?
I had a hunch you weren't...
It's a very common mistake made by first time smartphone users. So don't worry about it. And BTW, read the post above about allowing non-market apk installs, without which you won't be able to install these apps from sd card.
Happy app-ing!!

apk over bluetooth

In atrix 2 files app you can share almost any file through bluetooth.
Is there a limit on the files?
Is it possible to change it, so you can send any file.
I don't know about the Mototola file manager but I'm sure I've sent apk's over bluetooth before simply by changing the file extension... I think it was OI file manager that I tried it with and I always got errors when the transfer should have started...

[Q] Bluetooth

Hi
When I use Bluetooth to transfer music files and pictures from PC to my nexus5, they go well and everything is fine,, But when I transfer any apk file, it doesn't move to my phone, it says file transfer failed. So I plug via usb and have to do a copy-paste process in order to move the apk.
Is there any option or setting to make this happen?
My previous Galaxy S3 was okay with this apk transfer.
Note: this problem exists when I was stock, so I rooted and installing DroidKang rom, and the same problem happened.
Any suggestions?
hi friends,
my nexus 5 also can't receive APK file, i am using KANGAKAT 3.0.

[Q] How to share apk/iso files over bluetooth

Ok when I want to send a jpg or txt or whatever over bluetooth is easy but when I try to send an apk or iso file the bluetooth option isn't even there. After searching the net the options are change the extension to .txt or something that it allows or use an app.
My question is is there a way like a MOD or a custom ROM like CM to allow the sharing of these files natively like you go to your favorite file manager (I use Astro file manager) select the file and share it.
There's this app.
And there's also an explanation here that explains why we can't send too much big files over BT.
Change the name in a file explorer to .txt and send. Then change back to .apk after

Guys I want to do it without using an app and without changing the extension.
And the file I tried to send was like 4 mb.

:crying: what the hell is wrong with google for not allowing that to happen.
Blame the people who shared mp3s on their phones over Bluetooth like 5 years ago.

can be done
So this can be done. Many Roms modify the bluetooth.apk to allow receiving of any file type. All you need to do is find a modified Bluetooth.apk and then replace the existing one in /system/app and then set the perms to RW r r with owner root root.
Cm11 allows sending and receiving any file type so I tried the Bluetooth.apk from the hammerhead image. Unfortunately cm11 is too different from stock so Bluetooth kept crashing.
The other option is for someone to modify the stock app for us and repost it. The following thread gives an example of what to do. Essentially you have to recompile the bluetooth.apk from source code of the aosp. Before doing this you must modify constants.java in the bluetooth source.
I'm not sure how to do this so any help would be much appreciated.

How to stop file extension renaming

As I transfer files from my computer (Win7) to phone (Z Ultra, Lollipop stock) files with .jpg extension are automatically being renamed as .jpeg. I don't understand why as Android apps seem to struggle with jpeg. I'm using ES Explorer's remote manager to transfer but I don't think that is the issue as I recall similar patter when done with USB cable some weeks ago. Is there a setting or other easy fix?
How do you use ES to transfer? FTP? Also the format .jpg is the same as .jpeg, so i don't see the problem

These require installation on PC which I usually do not have permission to do. It's annoying in any case. These apps also want too much access to personal info like contacts and call logs, and require signing up to accounts.
I need the PC side to be as network location/drive or accessed from browser. No software, accounts, etc.
I tested over USB cable directly and it doesn't change the extension so it is ES Explorer that is doing it.

Download Airdroid from play store.... Then ask me what to do...
Use superbeam
My brother has emailed ES Explorer, hopefully they will fix the issue. ES Explorer is otherwise perfect.
Airdroid- transferred a file over browser interface. Drag & drop not supported (I have latest Firefox), can't select folders (only files), can't upload to SD card (only internal memory).
Superbeam- even worse than Airdroid, need to buy Pro version so I can change the directory!
And I should add Shareit was the worst. It overwrites the hotspot setting and creates an unsecured connection. Not only annoying, very unsafe!
