Hello People,
I am using Samsung galaxy si9003. I am trying to connect it to my LED TV via USB through 'USB Mass storage' option. it gets connected i.e. i am to see the contents in the memory card on my tv screen, but after 4 to 5 seconds it gets disconnected. i think there is some problem in the phone which is preventing the connection for a extended time period.
Could someone help please?
it seems to me that the function is not available for our i9003
only the i9000
enjoy google bro

No dude, this ideally should be a functionality of any phone with memory card (mass storage) provision.
1. i tried connecting my old nokia phone (express music) to my TV's USB port, by selecting the mass storage connection in the phone setting and it works. same way my friend's HTC phone also works with my TV.
2. when you select the USB mass storage, the phone memory card is treated just like any other pen drive storage.
3. even my i9003 gets connected in this way, but it get disconnected immediately after the connection is established.
there is some process in the phone that terminates the connection with the TV, dont know what it is....

Well.... Odd enough. When you say the phone turn into storage device, why I never experienced this problem on computer? Probably because lack of the USB Driver.

well the connection gets disconnected soon enough beccause of the conflict created between the internal and external storage of your device.. this is something you should know.... As LoLa said this is not possible for I9003 but still if you wanna try your luck then I suggest you to remove your SD card and then connect to TV and see what happens

I used to have an application that I could turn on, and when connect to wi-fi it would act as if I had it connected via USB, eg I could access f: removable disk to put/remove files on/off my sd card without having to fumble around with plugging my usb cable in, cause only the back ports work and it's such a pain having to go in and out of my desk and such. I used to have it but cannot for the life of me remember the name.
help pls! <3

Hello.
Short story: my phone was a little wet and i have some issues with it, mostly i want to get a mass storage to get working. (cant root)
Basically at first the phone didn't even want to charge, when i connected it to the PC windows was giving me an error that the device cannot be recognized, and couldn't install the drivers. (i had Kies installed)
I dried it completely, now the phone turns on without any problem, when i connect it to the pc the phone is recognizing connection (i hear sound + the button backlights are firing up for a sec)
Homever, windows is not detecting any USB device at all, and in about phone/info it says the phone is connected to the AC instead of USB.
When i connect it with USB there is no dropdown in notification to choose from charging, storage etc.
There is also manual usb storage mounting under settings/communication/usb settings , when i'm trying to mount here it just says to connect the phone with usb cable (not detecting connection, homever the backlight + sound is here after connecting, and it's charging)
I tried connecting it with usb debugging on/off even tried to fiddle with in service menu (*#7284#) but nothing.
And since i cannot get the usb storage working basically i cannot flash anything or root it.
Also the USB cable is not a Samsung but an HTC one, could this be a problem? (people in different thread said those cables are the same so it shouldnt be a problem, same amperage, same stick etc.)
Even tried to install MountUSB Widget from market, but it doesn't work when im trying to start the app it's force closing, when i make widget on desktop and press it the phone just vibrate for 1 sec and nothing happens.
When i connect phone with Kies AIR and it works, i mean it shows the storage information, also recognize the phone model correctly, how much free space i have on internal and on SD card but i cannot click "show in explorer" it's greyed out.
Any experts out there could help me? :crying:
Just a blind guess, try a USB cable which supports your device. If it doesn't help, I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and you will have to consult some hardware expert.
Hi,
Wondering if anyone has problems connecting a smartphone ? When trying to connect to the usb port of the dock on TF700T my Sony Xperia S is not recognized, no message appears that "mass storage device" or "usb device is being prepared".
kind regards,
What Android version is your phone running?
Once my phone was in USB connect mode, I had to go to the transformer settings > storage and then scroll down to the bottom and select the option to mount the mass storage device.

Doesn't work for me, there is no available device to mount, there is no sign it is even connected in usb mode,my phone simply isn't recognized for some reason.
kind regards,

I never saw any pop-ups or notifications in the status bar either. My first thought was that the device didn't know my phone was attached. I had to do some google-fu before I found the suggestion that, even though you don't see any notifications, to look at the storage settings anyway. Very strange that nothing is showing up for you. This might seem odd, but would you happen to have a USB hub you could run through? Try connecting the phone to the hub in storage mode, then connecting the hub to the transformer.
I can confirm that I did not have any notification either. My phone however detect the USB plug and I could activate USB mass storage on its side.
Then i needed to manually mount the external storage in settings. This done, I have access to the external SD card of the phone but not to the internal one.

Besides the fact i can't seem to connect it, that would be a problem also, because with the Sony Xperia S there is no SD card slot available for external memory, only 32GB of internal memory.
kind regards,
Not quite satisfied by my first test, I have made it again. With the two cards in the phone I can only access the external one. So I retreave the external card out of the phone and renew the test. this time, I can access the internal card.
So it seems that i can only see one card at a time, even if I need to mount it manually.
In any case if you have only one card, you should be able to access it.
Hi there. I've bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195 few days ago and I want to be able to transfer files through my Samsung Micro USB cable. In order to do this, I need to install Kies and Samsung Drivers, which I did. I've connected my S4 Mini to the computer via the Micro USB cable. All I can see is the word "Connecting." I can only see my phone's name. I've waited several minutes but still no result.
I've researched online on how to fix this. Some say to install drivers so I've re-installed drivers, still no result. Others say to install the older version so I did. Still, I get this 'Connecting', message. Some people told me to turn off USB Debugging so I did but this made the phone undetectable. So I've turned it back on again. I've even downloaded some USB Mass Storage 3rd Party apps but it still doesn't work. When I plug in the micro usb cable to the computer via the phone, I can feel the phone vibrate but no detection. I've tried multiple computers but still it doesn't work. I've even rooted and downloaded 3rd Party mass storage apps (which requires root) but still it doesn't work. I have a Mirco SD Card. Could you please give me a solution? Thanks.
P.S. I don't want to transfer files over the WiFi as my router WiFi keeps on disconnecting loads of time. This is annoying and sooo slow especially when I'm trying to transfer large files. Please guys gimme a solution. I don't wanna return this phone as it's a much better upgrade from the iPhone 4S. Thanks.

i got this solution for you first plug you usb cable direct into motherboard port and then goto settings on phone tap more under data usage select tethering/hotspot and turn on usb tethering and therye you go computer should id now
solution found!!
forget about all kinds of "specialists", forget about those who are trying to sell you useless program to detect and fix usb port!. I had the same problem - my PC , my netbook didn't recognize my Galaxy s4 mini, I think after firmware update. Just remove the battery from your phone ,install it back and everything works!

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to enable usb mass storage device mode on the S8+. I want to connect it to my car via usb but it doesn't let me. I have read that I need to connect it as a mass storage device however all the apps that say they can do this say that they can't find my 'lun' file. I can connect it via aux but then I can't control the music with the pause buttons etc. Bluetooth isn't an option as my car doesn't have it.
up for this
MTP all the way
Maybe the issue is not with your S8, but with your car's USB. Try both these steps to isolate the issue:
1. Connect your S8 to a laptop to check if you can enable mass storage.
2. Connect another phone to your car's USB to see if it allows and recognized the mass storage setting.
3. Try to connect your S8 to another car and see if the mass storage can be used.

That is not a issue with the car USB... That kind of radio only support universal mass storage devices, the old andorid devices, android 5 and below, could be mounted as a UMS device, so the radio would be able to play it's audio files. Now android devices can only be mounted as MTP, so it doesnt works. One thing that you can do is root your phone and use some UMS enabler app.
Guys, can I access my storage from recovery mode?
I cant unlock my phone and need to get data from storage.
Is there a mass storage option, like old times?
Thx
