[Q] - General Questions and Answers

TF300t on 4.2.1. Added unlocked ok, Flashed TWRP via Fastboot ok, flashed Baked Blackbean 8. Stuck on ASUS boot screen with unlocked msg. Took two nandroid backups prior to flashing rom. TWRP said rom flashed ok. Tried to reboot but does not progress past boot screen. Can enter RCK Android Wipe screen with power & volume buttons. When I restore backups it never completes. Reflashing rom seems to complete ok but will not reboot. How do I get the system to accept the sdcard backups or roms? Saw msgs about extracting firmware blobs but wasn't sure how to do that or which one. Any help is appreciated.

[Q] Help please-stuck at Samsung Logo

Hi everyone,
I was using Omega Rom v2.1 without trouble, then I decided to try Humberos Rom. After flasing it using TWRP it got stuck at the Cyanogen logo for 35 minutes without booting.
Because it didn't work and I did a backup, I decided to restore it and not use Humberos Rom. i went back to TWRP and everything is empty, I can't see nothing, I can't restore it or boot it.
I decided to flash a stock Rom as my only option using Odin. I tried Stock pre-rooted EUALAH2 from Entropy512. Odin flashed it but I'm stuck at the Samsung logo, no boot at all.
I need help because I can't live without my note 10.1!!!!!
Please move this post as necessary because I'm not sure I posted it in the right place.

WARNING: THIS METHOD WILL DELETE YOUR DATA:
First flash Darkman's unofficial ClockworkMod via Odin. (instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102677) Next, boot into recovery with power and vol-up, and tap wipe data/factory reset. After that finishes, tap mounts and storage, and then format system. When that finishes, hold down power and vol-down until the custom OS/ download mode screen comes up. From here, you can reflash the stock ROM you had via Odin. Everything should work properly, but as I said, your data will be wiped.

[Q] Only fastboot accessible to flash / restore my TF700

Hello,
My TF700 was on a CleanRom (2.3 i think), for a while, i decided to update.
- I installed the latest CWM (via fastboot) and flashed a Cyanogen 10.2 "stable", but my tablet freezed very quickly after successful boot, i tried some reboots and get same problem.
- I tried to install a stock ODEX root ROM, the tablet freezed at asus logo
- I flashed TWRP instead of CWM, it doesn't helped
- I tried wipe data and cache with TWRP, then my data was not accessible anymore and TWRP was unable to re-create it
- I searched on forums and found on this one that flash a boot.blob file can solve the problem
- It doesn't and now CWM and TWRP refuse to work ....
So i post here before getting my tablet completely brick.
At this point, i get access to fastboot / abd, CWM load but don't work (reboot when trying to do something), TWRP don't load.
Any suggestion to get back to a Stock ODEX rooted rom ?
Excuse my english ...

Sounds like you are on an old bootloader. Flash the stock rom from asus by unzipping the zip you download from their website and placing in the root folder of your micro sd and then go into rck from the bootloader menu (power + volume down whilst booting)
Or you could just flash it from recovery....
lj50036 helped me to flash a new bootloader, recovery, rom and nvflash to make it unbrickable
Not just helped he spent many times to explain me how it works and what he did.
He is very nice and this was a pleasure to talk with him, i'm happy that there's still person like that on this planet
see you !

I buy a tf700 with cm 11 a few days ago i am really interessted on how this steps works. I really want to make it unbrickeable, But i dont really understand how it works. I can not enter in fastboot. at least i got cwm interface when rebooting with adb into recovery.
Can u explain how you did it?
It invovles flashing a modified bootloader and the flatline recovery and then using Wheelie to generate your nvflash blobs.
Step-by-step instructions (which you need to follow to the letter) are here:

Stuck in boot loop, fastboot and recovery accessible
Hello,
I'm having a similar issue and I need help! Initially my tablet was rooted with Cromi-X 5.4. Then I decided to try Crombi-KK.
Here is what happened:
- Updated TWRP recovery
- Did a full wipe as recommended
- Flashing got stuck at the Crombi-KK loading sign
- Tried to reflash but TWRP wasn't detecting data partition anymore
- Instead installed the other recommended recovery CWMR.
- Flashed Crombi-KK, it worked. Played around with it for a few days, it was wonderful, fast and responsive.
- Battery died out and when I turned it back on I got a UIDs system inconsistent error.
- I found online many recommendations to reflash so I tried to do that
- Since then I'm stuck in a boot loop. I see the initial "bios" Asus logo then it restarts over and over.
- I am able to access bootloader and recovery
I've tried reflashing the asus stock blob. I've tried wiping the data through CWMR but it starts working and then it restarts. I don't know what to do anymore, so if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks
Which recovery and bootloader version do you have now?
A (for KK) outdated bootloader seems the most likely culprit.
You can try save the recovery log when you flash or grab a logcat of the bootloop, but probably it'll only tell you that the recovery cannot mount /data.
Determine that you are on the correct bootloader, if not update it. If you're lucky the tablet will start right up. If it doesn't, formatting /data is the only way I know to get it back. Not just wiping - formatting it. You will loose everything on internal SD, so I hope you have a nandroid you can restore from later.
If you use TWRP 2.7+ be aware that formatting can take more than an hour. Let it finish!
For good measure, download CROMBi-KK again, check the md5 and then flash that file.
I'm on 10.6.1.14.10 bootloader which I think is the latest one
I have 6.0.4.7 CWMR
I'm trying to format data completely but when i do it in CWMR it starts and then the tablet reboots on it's own after a couple of minutes.
How can I retrieve the logs, I never had to do it before.
Thanks for your help
Mhh, getting a little more complicated.
Your BL is ok...
What do you see in CWM when you go into Mounts and Storage? What is mounted?
The recovery logs are under Advanced > show logs.
I'm at work now but from what I remember the only thing mounted was the cache. I'll double check tonight. Do you think there's any hope or I have a brand new paper weight?

Can you fastboot flash twrp?
It's much much better than CWM, has its own terminal and will be easier to offer the correct format command.

So I flashed TWRP and when I go in mount/storage everything is selected except for system. Should I do a format data from the wipe menu before flashing crombi-kk again?

To be in the safe side, yes, that is what I would do. TWTRP 2.7.+ takes a long time to format and it may seem the process got stuck. Give it at least 90 minutes to finish.
Then reflash CROMBi
I'm back up and running !!!
This time installing TWRP, everything was mounted (maybe my previous flash before CWMR wasn't good), did a format data, waited until it was done, flashed latest Crombi-KK and going through setup now. Hopefully won't have the same UID issue on next shutdown. I didn't enable fsync or journaling so hopefully it won't happen again.
Thanks both of you for your help!
Good deal! Happy for you!

Stuck on Asus boot screen after custom rom flash

I've flash a couple of custom roms onto my TF300T in the past, recently i tried Omni 4.4.2 but now the pad won't boot past the Asus splash screen. The screen dims / brightens / goes black periodically but never gets past this screen.
I can get back into TWRP 2.7.0.1, I attempt to restore a backup of a previously working state, I've tried to flash different roms, I always factory reset / wipe Dalvik Cache & Cache under advanced.
I can connect with adb too so I'm hopeful there's something that can be done.
I keep reading I need bootloader 4.2, this is what I currently have:
Android cardhU-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "WW_epad-10.4.2.9-20120809" A03
But where do you get updated bootloaders? I can't find them anywhere.
Dude, latest version is 10.6.1.27.5! So I guess you have to flash the latest ASUS ROM first and start all over again...
--> http://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax
-search for "TF300T"
-select your model
-select Android as OS
-choose your ROM version (WW or US, depending on where you are living)
Thanks, with fastboot I flash the 4.2 WW Asus rom / blob. Then fastboot flashed recovery of the correct TWRP for 4.2 bootloader. Now I'm off to flash a kitkat rom

this is my 1st post. Same problem. Here is my situation.
tf300t unlocked and rooted( it was) I suspect I have lost root.
I was running CM nightlies about 2 times a month. It was very stable. then out of no where it started a boot loop. It would boot untill the profile page would be visible for 6-7 seconds and then reboot.
1st thing I did was install an earlier update but nothing changed.
2nd I wiped delvik, system and cache.
3rd fastbooted US_epad-user-10.6.1.27.1.zip (just the blob) stuck at Boot loop
that removed recovery, so I fastbooted twrp 2.5.0.0
then did a install of the above zip file. that too removed recovery. and stuck at boot loop. (asus)
I have tried so many thing my head is spinning.
please Help

Help, MMB29Q update wipes TWRP

Hi all,
Recently I updated my Nexus 5 from Lollipop to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (MMB29Q) - latest build.
everything stock works fine but, once I flash a customer recovery, in my case TWRP it stops working...I get either a startup loop or TWRP gets erased by stock recovery.
I tried various steps ...
flashed TWRP 2.8.7.1 - rebooted to boot loader was able to get into TWRP but, once I reboot system, everything works but TWRP is gone/erased and replaced by stock recovery?
Flash TWRP 2.8.7.1, then flash latest TWRP 3.0, reboot to boot loader and can get into TWRP but once i reboot into system, I am stuck on the initial boot loop.
I have to start from scratch of flashing system and boot etc to get past the loop and it still replaces TWRP with stock recovery.
I can always get into Fastboot but when I go to recovery it seems its being replaced by stock recovery.
anyone experiencing this issue? thanks for your help.
I guess I am doing something stupid but, not sure what...and thanks for your help
If you give more detail on the steps you are taking it will be easier for someone to help. Also, have you tried doing a factory reset when it bootloops?
thanks for the response..here are the details..
I had Lollipop with TWRP 2.8.7.1
yesterday, I downloaded latest build from android site...extracted all files....booted into bootloader and flashed all files..
rebooted - Marshmallow works perfectly...offcourse it not rooted yet or its locedback due to this flash
Scenario:1
So downloaded TWRP 2.8.7.1 and flashed it as recovery, no errors nothing...i rebooted to bootloader and went to recovery to confirm TWRP is there
I rebooted the system - TWRP gives option to root which I said yes so its rooted. I reboot system, this goes into bootloop - I wait for say 5-10 min in this loop mode and I see that adb can recognize the device but nothing else....its stuck in loop
when I force shut down by holding power button for few sec - and go back bootloader/recovery - TWRP is still there
***note*** I did factory wipe in TWRP but that did not fix above condition.
Scenario2:
exact same steps but after I flashed twrp2.8.7.1, I rebooted bootloader and flashed twrp 3.0 as well confirmed twrp 3.0 is flashed and rebooted system - phone start normally no issues - when I restart to bootloader - no TWRP exists, its replaced by stock recovery
Scenario 2, I tried couple of other ways and still the same thing happens - twrp 3.0 get erased.
not sure what I am doing wrong but TWRP doesn't stick
since this is my active device - i flash system.img and boot.img to get the phone to working condition
thanks for your help

T-Mobile Pixi 7 (9006w) - softbricked after OTA attempt-Resolved

Well, I put the tablet back to stock and then ran through the OTA. The update never completed and softbricked it, will only boot into recovery. I have cleared cache/data/userdata/system/boot/recovery and reinstalled stock ones (fastboot flash .IMG files) and still boots to recovery. Stock recovery says "installing software update" and then "Error!" with the red triangle, TWRP and CWM work fine, but it will never load to Android. It is like the Bootloader is stuck in update mode and won't boot to android until it completes. I have tried to restore a Nandroid (TWRP) and it still just boots back to recovery. I have no luck with anything, though the fastboot flash process completes without issue.
Thanks to @aclegg2011 & @YarsRevenge78 for the files and instructions/information. :good:
Any Ideas?
Anybody?? I need to get this thing working again.
I do have another one to pull stock images from.... anybody?
Apparently, all I had to do was just let it sit at the "Error!" screen until it ran through the installation and came back to the stock recovery screen. I then wiped data and cache then it rebooted fine, minus my data. Thanks anyways.
