Hi guys im new to this stuff so please bare with me.
I was previously rooted on 4.0.4 and then the new update 4.1 came out so, i odin the official firmware so im now not rooted and on jelly 4.1.
My problem is its seems abit laggy and freezes now and then (maybe the update didnt install properly ?? and it just keeps searching when i go to software update and also my device status now says custom.
Is there away to either re flash it to get rid of the custom and hopefully make it un laggy ? or can i downgrade ? i dont want to be rooted anymore, well i dont think i do for now haha
Any help is greatly appreciated
Well thats what most of us experience with the update but for some reason in few days in goes off
But it did not freeze.
The reason you see that is because the firmware you install did not belong to your region, my suggestion download the rom for your region do a complete wipe and install the rom
Thank you for quick reply.
I downloaded the UK version which is my region.
Shall i do a full factory reset then odin the update again ?
ive just did a full factory reset. i havnt reflashed but my status now say official so fingers crossed all is ok thank you
Install of JB 4.1.1 ROM
You did do multiple wipes of the system and the caches prior to loading the ROM right?
I installed the Stock 4.1.1 JB which was posted a few days ago and it went fine.

Sorry to not being clear....
Looking for some input on clean ROM on the TF300T,
This is my second time trying to install it and both times it was successful, however as soon as the boot image loads up it stays stuck loading... I did download the file again thinking it may have been corrupted.
It has been sitting there loading for 20 minutes now.
I am using cwm the latest version and I did not install a kernel still running stock
Any ideas on what could cause this?

CWM has issues on this unit. Many, many complaints. I use twrp. If you decide to use twrp be sure to choose JB and tf300t version.
Clean ROM is freaking amazing! Seriously just do it I love the mods I can make for it too! Can't wait till I get my volume long press seek mod done! Love this device!

OK. It was just a suggestion since the problem you are experiencing is usually cleared by using twrp.

I'm sorry it is hard to tell since you have chosen an older twrp to install. The current is five versions later and was updated as the kernels were updated to account for changes. The rom you are flashing is based on 10.4.4.25.

Use TWRP 2.4.1.0
You are using a very old version of TWRP that has bugs with AROMA installer. So that is most likely where your issues are.
What ROM are you ccoming from? What boot loader are you on.
Sounds to me like you need to upgrade your boot loader and possibly do a full wipe - make sure you are on latest TWRP first otherwise you could brick if you use an older recovery!

The only ROM i was able to flash that was fully functioning is cm10.1,
i have also flashed PA 2.9 but had some bugs i couldn't stand (screen rotation not working, extended desktop with no pie)
as for boot loader it says 1.00e by "US _Epad-10.4.2.20-20121228" A03
I just updated the TWRP as recommended on the other post (v2.4.1.0)
on every flash i wipe dalvik / Cache / Factory reset.
Before attempting to boot into Clean Rom i also followed the steps on screen saying to wipe cache and dalvik.
I m hoping PA releases a 3.0 for this device and/or i m able to get Clean rom running

If you are coming from cm10.1 you will definitely need to do a full wipe as it is non stock. It does say this in the first post. You only do a dalvik and cache wipe when upgrading from the same ROM or in CROMI's case from stock.
Do a data wipe in recovery, make sure you have a titanium backup or equivalent if you want to restore apps.
Success!!!
It worked perfectly fine after i install the back up i did before i flashed my 1st costume rom,
I rooted made a back up at stock/rooted... It just would not install from a full wipe,
it install fine once i flashed that specific backup and dirty flashed then wiped dalvik and cache before booting.

You need to do a full wipe in order to switch from cm10 to cromi-X. Boot into TWRP, select wipe, then advance wipe, select everything to wipe except for external sdcard. Finally reinstall cromi-X

do that again, but this time do the format also (next to the advance wipe button). Cromi-X should give you no lags. cm10 is using the new 4.2 launcher which cause lags.

Yes also make sure you select _that stock kernel to start out, and in the future, you should move your backup to the external sdcard, cause situation like this may required you to format the internal.

Something is corrupted, you probably have to do a full wipe then reinstall. CM10 is tricky, a full wipe required to switch between cm10 and other rom in order for it to work correctly.

download full Asus firmware, unzip the file then copy the unzipped file to your sdcard, Boot to twrp and flash the zip file. After this you will have 100% stock rom with NO ROOT AND NO CUSTOM RECOVERY. You have to do the root and reinstall TWRP. I think the CROMI 3.4.7 JB 4.1.1 rom would definitely better that ICS stock or 4.1.1 stock.
Hello,
I flashed CM 10.1 and before the CyanogenMod animation boot starts, I get this screen for 1-2 seconds:
Is it a bug specific to the CM version I downloaded maybe? Or a bug and I need to fix it somehow?
Btw, is there a place / thread where I can report this bug to CyanogenMod developers maybe?
Thanks!
I am getting the same thing after I have updated to Official Jelly bean ROM through Mobile odin. Other than this, my Tab is functioning smooth and without any glitches. So I am not bothered at all with this.
If any of you can throw any light on this will be welcome.

This is a known issue but with very low priority. It's because you have 4.0.4 bootloader. It is one of the reasons I've recommended flashing stock 4.1 from a country nearby yours. That way you wouldn't have this strange screen, and hopefully it would also take care of this so called baseband problem or something.

Thanks you two,
Can I now flash stock rom over CM 10.1? All I need to do is download a firmware from SamMobile and flash it over the CM? or you can't do that? because got_creature said that if I already installed CM I need to install only the bootloader.
Btw, Is flashing stock rom from SamMobile done same way in CWM > Install Zip from sd? I am asking that because I did download a stock firmware, but it weights much much more than CM 10.1 so I'm afraid to flash it (CM weights about 150MB and official Samsung rom weights about 700MB)

You can install only the bootloader, but it is considered more dangerous than flashing stock rom, which will give you the same effect.
Stock weights much more than CM, because it is heavily bloated, so that is normal.
And you need to flash stock rom via Odin, for the changes in bootloader to take effect. Than you flash CM again, the same way you did it before. Just remember to always make a clean installation (factory reset, clear data and cache, optionally format \system through recovery, to avoid bootloop or getting stuck on bootlogo. And if happens anyway, don't panic, just boot into recovery and again factory reset and clear data and cache.

Format system just before flashing the zip with cm10.1. There is absolutely no need of doing it before flashing stock via Odin. To be honest, there is usually no need of doing it at all, there was one guy that said somewhere on xda that it may reduce the possibility of some bugs occurring during everyday use, so you may consider this step worth considering.
And yes, it's done in mounts and storage in recovery.

Mobile Odin does not have access to bootloader, so you need to use pc odin for this operation. And as I said, flash the stock 4.1 rom from a country near your, and everything should be fine.

Whenever there's an update, flash the incremental OTA file HERE.
Flashing the stock recovery will not allow taking OTA's.

Um, just flash it in TWRP or CWM, only need to flash cache and dalvik cache, but that's optional.
Im also sorta nooby about this. The only thing I have ever done is flash Cyanogen Mod and install TWRP on my Galaxy Note 3. I have rooted my Shield and installed Uno TWRP out of the box. Thus its not on the latest update. Just to clarify so I don't f*ck up. I just download the latest OTA, copy to my sdcard and flash in TWRP? And that will just update it without having to lose all my apps etc?
EDIT: So incremental updates take from version x.x to version x.x? Oh, and is it true that root is wiped? Im happy to re-root everytime.

Yes that's true, just make sure you flash the incremental updates and not the full OTA's. And as far as root I'm not sure if you loose it, while in recovery might as well just flash SuperSU to be safe.

Yes, because you need to flash 2.2.1 full ota via custom recovery, and wipe cache dalvik. Then flash again your custom recovery. Then supersu.
If you are rooted with custom rec (twrp, cwm, Philz) you need to flash full ota.
Wouldn't the tablet be wiped then? And if this is the case everytime can't I just keep the stock recovery and sideboard a custom one?
Nope. You just flash on top, like a dirty flash. I use TWRP and Ive done it twice and still kept everything. The only wipe you need to do is cache & dalvik after flashing full OTA.
If you keep stock rec just for the fact of being rooted incremental OTAs wont work
