http://igg.me/p/312023/x/2619908 Mu Thermal Camera
There is only a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the surroundings like a thermometer.
For a Thermal camera, we need an infrared camera sensor.
EDIT: Does it really work on any phone without any special camera?
That's what the Mu thermal camera is. It is a thermal sensor with pretty decent resolution. Will be an awesome addition.
It looks like this MU thermal sensor is a camera attachment for any phone. It isn't just software.

Maybe some software comes using thermal sensor.

Has anyone ever physically replaced the camera on the Sensation? Mine won't focus at all. It seems like the actual focus is stuck. Before anybody asks, i've searched for 3 straight days and I tried everything. It just wont focus, it seems like it's stuck on one focus position and anything closer than 2 feet is out of focus. It makes the focus noise but no attempt at focusing.
Is sending it in for repairs an option?
Not really, I can get a camera online for it but was hoping I wouldn't have to replace it.

You can either touch the screen to focus on a certain point or if you point it at an object long enough it will focus on it. My doesn't do that on camera or camcorder.

My camera has been having trouble focusing lately. I've tried stock ICS, sense 4.0, aosp. None are good.
Kind of been wanting to downgrade to gb to see if it improves.
Glad to see I'm not alone, although it isn't very good news..

No, the camera/camcorder should automatically focus.
Been facing the same problem too. Autofocus for macro shot is not as good as my old htc desire and htc sensation.. strangely, if i try macro using object that has text on it i.e newspaper it works.. I thought the problem is the HQ camera mod, but when i reverted to stock camera, the problem persist. I still yet to try the camera on official GB rom. If anyone tried it I would love to hear the result.

Lol I wasn't joking, it's the truth. I believe there are also some root apps where you can correctly balance the accelerometer on a table as well. But the other way is a quick way of calibrating it to point to the north pole.

In another thread, we found out that you simply need to add the SamsungCamera2.apk from the i9500 to the system/app directory (needs root) of your i9505, and the option to record in 720p is there, and it seems to be working
I thought this might be useful to many people who probably won't notice the question in the Q&A sub forum.
Here is the link to the thread : Link
And here is the link to my post with the SamsungCamera2.apk I have on my i9500 : Link
EDIT: Thanks to NoOneCanHelpMe for uploading the apk to his dropbox account, here is the link : http://db.tt/bKsin5eS

Indeed, I wonder why they did that, especially since I think it's the only difference in the camera software on both variants.

Yeah, though they didn't even mention the difference, and they even tried to convince people that the i9505 was as good as the i9500 because of the limited availability of the Exynos CPU so they wouldn't feel they got an inferior version, so this goes the wrong way.
I've seen no reviews mentionning that either, only users on xda.
Also, lazyness seems weird too, because instead of using the same version of the camera software on both variants, they went out of their way to implement a difference, which means 2 versions of the software to maintain and update.
So I'm wondering if it was because of the performance? Is the FPS the same on the i9505 when using 720p? or does it become more choppy?

Ok, that explains it then
So while this "mod" allows us to record slow motion in 720p... it does so at the expense of fps?
Doesn't really seem to be that useful then
Isn't it possible to force the camera to record at the same 120/60 fps ? :/
Mayb its due to limitations of emor-r sensor on i9505 over exmor-rs on i9500
Dont bash me..but this seems 2 b the reason for the lower camera quality on i9505..
Even there r some reviewers too who thinks the same...

Indeed, this is a lot more choppy than on the i9500.. I guess that's why they downgraded the i9505's camera software..
So I am guess it's either the different sensor or slower cpu/gpu.

Yeah, my guess is Chip optimization. The i9500 camera software is not optimized for the i9505 chipset. I'm referring to the CPU chipset and not the sensor module.

From what I know, the iphone 5s records at 120fps, this is all possible because of a hardware combination of the camera, and their in house processor has a dedicated chip for this. It's the only phone that does this, the HTC One does this, but only at about 1/2 the frames. So I stand by my word. The N5 will not see comparable slow-mo to the iphone or likely even the HTC One. Source http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/17/iphone-5s-review/
The Xiaomi MI2 have a 90fps option without co-processor FYI
So I think the N5 can take at least 90 fps without any problems
Comparison of 5s slow motion video with Note 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBXbgFeEYHo
G2 also has slow mo, to an extent. Don't see why we can't get it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crT0AmZWiUk

Try this ... A Better Camera
I also recommend A Better Camera. It's what I use and I can confirm that even the free version allows you to control the ISO and White Balance settings (along with lots of other things too). I haven't seen anything about the stabilization settings, so I think you are out of luck there.
PS - you can change the stock action of holding down the volume down key when the screen is off and it can start A Better Camera instead of the stock camera if you want. That's what I do. I think I'm doing this with the G3 TweaksBox xposed module.
Image stabilization.... it's hardware, you can never turn it off
