Because there isn't need to. Light and IR sensors doesn't need calibration, and nothing changes when I so-called calibrate the G sensor.

Most phones you can calibrate it by moving it in an 8 motion.

Lol
Lol I wasn't joking, it's the truth. I believe there are also some root apps where you can correctly balance the accelerometer on a table as well. But the other way is a quick way of calibrating it to point to the north pole.

Hello Developers,
I was just wondering if anybody could try and make GyroSynth for Android, Currently it is only available for iPhone (sigh).
If you don't know what GyroSynth is, please Google "GyroSynth for iPhone"
We really need such apps in Android which creatively uses Hardware features.

How would it work without a Gyroscope?
Without Gyroscope? :O Don't we have Gyro Sensors in our devices? I think we do have. And Nexus S has it for sure.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
We dont.
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_s-3776.php
Nope. Else we'd have Gyroscope calibration in Display Settings instead of G-Sensor calibration.
So what is the difference between G-Sensor and Gyroscope?

I can't explain myself but i know it's two different things.
Try googling "gyroscope vs accelerometer".

From that what I understand is G-Sensor is a gyroscope which better than accelerometer.

A gyroscope has 3 axis. That's the difference.

Well I would think you might get better response from posting your question in the CM7 thread. Just a friendly suggestion.

Doesnt do that either.
I tested the new camera in new ViperS Rom and it works great even Burst Mode. Only issues i found were Video in Slow Motion and Take a shot while recording, but these 2 bugs are already knowned.
Edit: I can take a shot and save it while recording but freezes camera.
Here's the link:

To install: backup your camera first and i used Root Explorer to copy to system/app and set permissions rw-r--r--. Reboot!
Finally go to Applications and see what camera version u have now.
Test yourself
I can't see camera quality settings.

Using root explorer or similar, go to /sys/android_camera/sensor (open this in Text Editor).
It is the omnivision or samsanug?

Oh really? Where to I change the megapixel setting then?
Also I found the focus to not be working as expected.
However this has great potential.
Edit:
I guess they have replaced a numeric megapixel option with resolution.
Just need manual focus to work and this will be my first choice camera.
Burst seems to work well enough.
Btw face detection still causes issues.
Would love a good dev to jump on this.

Hello I flashed the camera software , Image Quality is amazing .
But after taking 2 or 3 picture , camera software closes itself , and does not allow to take picture again .
I have restart the fone again to take picture
What should I do ???
I am using Viper 1.1.0 ROM with 3.33 firmware
Hopefully this is developed because it would be an awesome addition to the S4
http://igg.me/p/312023/x/2619908 Mu Thermal Camera
There is only a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the surroundings like a thermometer.
For a Thermal camera, we need an infrared camera sensor.
EDIT: Does it really work on any phone without any special camera?
That's what the Mu thermal camera is. It is a thermal sensor with pretty decent resolution. Will be an awesome addition.
It looks like this MU thermal sensor is a camera attachment for any phone. It isn't just software.

Why not
Guys I have an idea to take photospheres from legacy devices without gyro.
How the app should perform:
Take a central snap.
The app stores the data from the edges of the snap.
The app requests to move the camera in a particular direction.
After moving a certain distance the shot is taken and stitched with the previous image.
Anyone interested in creating in an app using the basic workflow of the above idea?

Yeah. Around 15-16 photos needs to be stitched. But that's what it happens in 4.2 camera but gyro and the hardware of newer phones stitches them seamless.

Its not at all possible dude , If you have really used photosphere ever before then you may know what photosphere is all about . And for those who thinks this a good idea then go ahead and try make that fictonary app yourself.

Then how does it work boss.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
Also I have another idea.
The app requests you to take continuous video in all directions slowly.
The video is saved and it is viewed in 360 viewer(fictional name).
Based upon the video, the images from certain time points are snapped and stitched all over 360deg.
The angular shots are matched with shot at which photo was snapped.

Is it yet available?
photosphere without gyro is definitely possible
360 panorama app by occipital does entire sphere without gyro. Photosynth on windows platform does that too. These work by using accelerometer for orientation and compass for direction and stitch simulating the gyro

A Better Camera!
Take a central snap.
The app stores the data from the
edges of the snap.
The app requests to move the camera
in a particular direction.
After moving a certain distance the
shot is taken and stitched with the
previous image.
This feature already in a better camera app(Android 4.0 or higher).
If I help you,
Don't miss Thanks
