[Q] galaxy tab 7.7 e signature verification failed - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

already rooted galaxy tab 7.7 p6800,cant install any roms or a battery mod on my tab, gets a galaxy tab 7.7 e signature verification failed, anyone know a way around this?

Firstly, check the downloaded zip md5 sum on your device is the same as the ROM developers zip file (ensure the download wasn't corrupted during download or transfer to device).
If ok, Maybe update to the latest CWM or TWRP recovery.
If using latest, Disable (toggle off) signature verification in recovery settings.
Then flash again

Have you ever install custom kernel with CwMR integrated yet?
If not, do so b4 flashing custom ROM
Thanks for your response. I am a rookie in this mather. I tried with a ROM MANAGER but the app, I feel only handling CWR ROM's???.
It's ask about permissions a I applied. Later I open the recovery (up/down volume, power & home bottons), but I didn't see any different options than wipe,s update boot and locate room from the sd. My Zip handler in free fkrom the market.
I am still confuse with the message.

no ROM MANAGER has almost all available roms for ur device.
so i guess you should be using clockworkmod recovery.
while in recovery choose install zip from sd card. and in there ull find toggle signature verfication.

Hi friend...time with no contact..jaja. I need a new help from you. I read in others forums that the problem with the AT&T SG2 to install other ROMS or Kernel is based in the 3rd edition of the Recovery System which not permit to open zip files without verification of the signature.
They recomend to downgrade to a second edition trough a personalize kernel and install with ODIN. This kernel has to locate in XDA forum as a zip file like CF-Root-XXX bla-bla...to install later. I checked and is confused due to a several options. that the point of the help I need from you.
My phone OS is coming with Gb 2.3.4
Baseband version I777UCKH7
KERNEL version 2.6.35.7
Build number UCKH7
Could you please directed me which version of the CF-Root.... have to download????
Thanks a lot again

E:Signature Verification Failed during flashing CWM Recovery

Hi Guys,
I followed each and every step of how to root P3100 but I am not able to flash CWM Recovery. Shows me E:Signature Verification failed. Tried to re-do everything but still the same. Everybody says toggle E:signature on or off but I didn't didn't find any solution to that.
I recently got Samsung update to 4.1.1 so now officially the version is 4.1.1. But I want to do some tweaks to the source. So, if you all can tell me how to solve this issue ???
Thanks
You are probably in stock recovery. You cannot boot the tab after flashing a custom recovery using ODIN. You must get it right the first time.

How to root and unroot tab2 7" p3100 (may work on other models)

To remove Root:
This Root Remover has been tested with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" P3100 (tested on jellybean)
REQUIREMENT: A rooted Tab 2.
•After you download this file, move it the root of your external SD card( /mnt/extSdCard ). This is the micro sdcard you insert in tablet slot. Your /mnt/sdcard folder is internal memory (not recognized in CWM recovery).
•Reboot into CWM (recovery) using Quick Boot app or
•Power OFF your tablet, disconnect from computer and restart in recovery (CWM) by pushing and holding POWER & Volume DOWN/LEFT buttons at same time. When Samsung Tab 2 logo appears, you can release power button but continue holding volume button for a few more seconds. Note: If you've done this on other Samsung devices, you will notice that it takes longer before blue CWM v5.5.0.4 text appears ... just be patient.
•Once you are in recovery, use volume button (UP/DOWN/LEFT OR RIGHT) to move around and POWER button to select an option.
Select install zip from sdcard. Choose Root_Remover file you already copied to root of sdcard.
When unrooting is finished, choose reboot system now from CWM menu.
NOTE-By downloading and using this file you understand and agree that you bear all responsibility for the use and anything it may do to your tablet.
DOWNLOAD-
Root_Remover.zip (h--p://www.mediafire.com/?ty54o6lah25w41d)
Replace (--) with tt.
For Root (tested on jellybean):
Use chainfire root its d best i have it.
U can google it or find it on xda search (instructions are provided there).
Dont use the above method to remove the chainfire root as it can be easily removed from its modified superuser application but it works as any other root and is superb!
Enjoy,
Kunal
Dont forget to hit the thanks button!!

Yeah brother sure,
It means that do not use the unrooting method which i have given you above to remove the chainfire autoroot (developed by chainfire-a.k.a {cf autoroot}). If you have a chainfire autoroot open its superuser application and there u will see an option of removing the root completely. Try it i personally recommend cf autoroot. Only the cf autoroot has the option to remove the root itself coz its superuser app is modified.
Gud luck

Hi Kunal
Hi Kunal.......
I had unrooted my Tab 2 P3100 (v4.1.1 - India) yesterday. I had also used triangle away as u adviced to set counter to zero. After unroot I wipe data/factory reset the Tab. After that then i had done factory reset from settings/backup and restore option in Tab.
But when I tried to update my tab using OTA by going under Software Update option in Settings it displays following message:
YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN MODIFIED. SOFTWARE UPDATES ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
Then I checked for Device status it shows Device Status Custom. How to get rid of all this.
Plz help.
Hey amit,
U dnt have to use triangle away after unrooting its only for after u root ur tab. Btw dnt update to 4.1.2 it just suckss!! It only adds smart stay to ur tab which is NOT working due to a bug in this update i also rolled back to 4.1.1 after i did this useless update. And if u want to update then go to recovery menu (power off then power button + volume up) and from there do factory reset and wipe all cache and data dalvik cache also (it will delete evrythin on your tab)-DO THIS ONLY AFTER UNROOT.
And if the above one does not work then format, wipe cache and dalvik also from recovery menu and then use ota update.
If ota doesnt work then use kies-only if ur tab is unrooted.
Ps sorry for late reply

I want to root galaxy grand duos i9082. I tried that by odin 3.07, selecting cwm recovery mod chotu.tar. as PDA and it just shows reset in the port box in odin. After that I tried to install super su app 1.25 by placing it in root of external sd card and in download mode. But it says verification failed. And the download mode is not showing as it shown in youtube videos.

Problem...
Hi Kunal
I have a problem while installing the file(Root_Remover.zip).It shows "E:signature verification failed".
Please help me

[GUIDE] [Most-Devices] How to Root your Android Device!

1.Dowoad the file from the link below.
2. Then download Clockwork Mod Custom Recovery.
3. Then boot into recovery mode, and choose "install from SD Card".
4. Choose Clockwork mod recovery.zip, and it will boot you into a different recovery.
5. From that recovery mode you should be able to flash .zip files without signature verification.
6. Choose install zip from SD Card and choose SU Installer.zip.
Note:To unroot just flash SU Uninstaller.zip the same way you did to flash Installer.zip.
Downloads:
CWM Custom Recovery (Choose either Touch Recovery or Recovery for your device.):

Be sure to click dat THANKS button if I helped!
is it always possible to install supersu instead of superuser to obtain root access?
SuperSU and Superuser are both Applications to manage root access. But if you have not actually root your phone, those apps are useless.

what the man really this is not a tut you provide no information at all
and for a start you talk about "Clockwork Mod Custom Recovery" none of the links give you this is leads you to recovery files in .img format not zip
all so the site dosent have recoverys for my device in fact hardly any so its not universal
and also you forgot the fact that wen someone boots into recovery and if you click update by sd card if you are not all ready rooted you are more than likley to get "signiture verification faild" 99% of the time witch means this dose not work at all un less your phone is all ready tooted at witch point you wouldnt need to be doing this anyway

You can use any custom recovery that has signature verification disabled. Google your phone. It does not have to be cwm, just reccomended.
