my new N8000, purchased in Shanghai, repeatedly fails the reflash to a European firmware.
It successfully did the OTA update to Android 4.1.2.
It identifies as:
AP: N8000ZCCMB1
CP: N8000ZCCMB1
CSC: N8000CHNCMB1
When trying to flash the Italian firmware N8000XXCMA2_N8000TIMCMA1_N8000XXCLL1_HOME.tar.md5 Odin states this:
<ID:0/006> Odin v.3 engine (ID:6)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/006> Initialzation..
<ID:0/006> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/006> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/006> tz.img
<ID:0/006> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/006> FAIL!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I tried different USB ports and Odin v3.04 as well as v3.07 as advised in other posts on XDA developers. No success so far.
Which firmware (German preferred) is most probable to flash successfully to my device?
Or is there anything else, I can try to replace the Chinese firmware with an European one.
Thank you
Stefan
I had the same problem with my friend's N8010 which he bought in China. It's a bit convoluted, but basically you have to:
- Root the Note 10.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957002
- Install Mobile ODIN - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
- Install the FlashKernel, also from the same thread. Make sure you get the v5.0 version (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1473461&d=1352634971)
- Copy the euro firmware that you downloaded (it should be a .tar file) to the Note
- Run Mobile ODIN and flash the firmware with that instead.
good luck!
Thanks a lot!
It It worked. Now my pad is talking german again.
i had the same issue with the note i bought in Beijing. the note is loaded with all kinds of nonsense and cant even run any google apps (not even play store was included). tried to flash with malaysian JB. but kept crashing that it got ridiculous and was freaking out. i dont really know if they had some sort of lock on the device or something. immediately rooted device with CWM and via CWM recovery installed Omega Rom which is now running awesomely.

Ok so I'm new at this. Just downloaded Kies and it suggested to upgrade firmware (probably to 4.4.2 from 4.1.2 - google told me). With the tablet connected it downloaded and installed (as per the Kies notifications on my PC) and then it said that the device would reboot and then I would need to disconnect and connect the device again.
However, after like 20 mins or so the tablet never rebooted, or did anything, (the blue bar had completed and there was nothing else on the screen except for Downloading... Do not turn off target!!!...)
And it's been like this ever since... I did google some stuff and downloaded the firmware (N8000XXUDNH2_N8000OJVDNH1_N8000XXUDNH1_HOME.tar - 4.4.2 Kitkat - UAE Region) and then odin (v 3.10.7) and tried to unbrick it or whatever but after the odin shows that my device is Added!! and verifies the firmware I've downloaded is fine (leave CS), it keeps failing after I press start.
The tablet isn't turning off, or rebooting. The only thing it's doing is if I press the power and volume up button and keep it pressed, it reboots and shows me the same screen again but this time, it has this written in the corner:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N8010
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
AP SWREV: A2
I tried using odin while this is displayed as well, but it still keeps failing.
Can anyone help please?
Question 1 what model do you have ??
Firmware you show is N8000
Odin shows product asN 8010 .

Hey, thanks for your reply. I have the GT-N8010 - Wifi only. Are you saying that I've downloaded the wrong firmware?

Its failing to write to the NAND/memory .
Do a search on Nand failure before buying a new motherboard .
Could be a bad downloaded file .

Wait buying a new motherboard?
I re downloaded it. The firmware. Same Issue. What you said about Nand failure. Completely over my head. Anyway you could simplify it for me?
Nand is the memory

So I have the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A). I had installed root using a tutorial I found on these forums and everything went great for months. I started getting some errors after automatic updates ran (the Play Store kept crashing) so I tried to flash back to the stock firmware. Doing this, I ended up at the "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software" page.
I've tried using Smart Switch, but the application tells me that my device is unsupported and entering my model and serial numbers into the software just causes it (the smart switch app) to crash.
On the Android Recovery screen, I can see that I have the G930AUCS2APH1 firmware running Android 6.0.1. I believe I have found the original stock firmware for this version here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...rmware-stock-sm-g930a-ph1-odin-files-t3458890
But whenever I try to flash anything other than CP to my phone in Odin, I end up with a FAIL! (Auth) error.

I've tried using different USB ports and cables, as well as a few different firmwares (admittedly, even some that are not the PH1 update) but all end up with the same result.
Can anyone help me out? I believe I'm doing everything right but I cannot get my phone up and running again for the life of me.
OKAY so I believe I fixed the problem before anyone could get to this so this is for anyone that stumbles across this thread. I was able to successfully flash the PK1 update to my phone. I found the firmware here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_lsL4sQwjajY2dxSkFjYmw4OGM
Just flashing the AP package seems to have worked fine.
New to messing with android and odin so bear with me.
I have confirmed the target device is a verizon phone model and I am using a verizon stock firmware.
I had a friend give me a Galaxy S6 SM-G920V as he wasn't using it anymore and my S5 bit the dust. I got a sim card put in it and activated. During the init the phone lost power and bricked the rom. So, I got the latest odin build and what I thought was a good firmware build and flashed the phone. I still get the startup failed message when I boot. So I called verizon and got some information about their specific firmware and started searching again. I found this thread that claimed to have the firmware I needed.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/stock-firmware-official-stock-firmware-t3086387
I have tried to use Smartswitch and verizon utilities to detect and repair my device but neither of them will recognize my phone is connected even after installing the samsung drivers.
My process for flashing the device are as follows:
Power on phone into download mode.
Select AP and load the .tar.md5
Check boxes for auto reload and F. Reset time
Connect Phone, it gets recognized
Click start
The firmwares I have tried:
ODIN version: 3.10.6
1st attempt :
Android 6.0.1
PDA: G920VVRS4CQA3
CSC: G920VVZW4CQA3
result: PASS, does not boot, teal screen of death with startup failed. flashed a second time and now its boot looping.
2nd attempt:
Android 5.0.2
PDA: G920VVRU1AOC3
CSC: G920VVZW1AOC3
result: NAND write fail. Flash aborts.
Is there something I am doing wrong here? Someone with more experience please correct me.
Also here is the log for the whole operation for the 2nd attempt:

You can't downgrade the S6 back to 5.0.2. Verizon locked the bootloader so you can't downgrade it to 5.0.2 and only around 5.1.1 around OK1 to QD1. (5.1.1 - 7.0)
Hi, I'm new here, but I'm experiencing some serious difficulties with my S7 SM-G930F (T-Mobile, The Netherlands). I managed to put on a custom rom and root (Resurrection Remix android 8.1.0), but with more difficulty than it was supposed to be. It took me hours and I'm happy my phone now finally works. However, I can't play PoGo andymore now and before the Resurrection ROM my first intention was to unroot and flash stock firmware. Warranty doesn't bother me that much. Yet Odin3 keeps giving me fails. I've tried 3 different ROM's so far and I think it has something to do with me wiping everything in the advanced section in TWRP (out of pure ignorance). This is the error I keep getting:
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1301)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> Total Binary size: 4182 M

Can somebody please help me with this?
Try 3.12 of Odin instead of 3.13 as sometimes it gives different results. Are you also flashing all 4 firmware files, or just AP?

I shall try Odin 3.12 and yes, I have been flashing all 4 firmware files; BL, AP, CP and CSC. I got my stock firmware from updato.com. It's the 8.0.0 android for the Netherlands, T-mobile, the right firmware for my phone.
im having a same problem here. my s7 edge can't be flashed to stock firmware eventhough i've downloaded the matched firmware. i was rotted my s7 edge sm g935fd to lineage os 14.1 using twrp, and now I just wanted it to be back to the factory setting, someone please help!
UPDATE! Was able to resolve my issue. Simply just had to flash an updated firmware. Guess I updated the bootloader, or knox / whatever it is. Hate working on samsungs. Peace out pplz!
OK! Sorry havent been here in a long time since my htc desire days. ANYWAYS. Here is what ails me.
My mother buys old storage lockers, and procured a used device. A sprint Samsung SM-j337p, with firmware J337PVPU1ARF1. Obviously the phone was used, and indeed was google account locked. My goal was to unlock the device, so my mother can do with it what she likes, sell it or use it. I feel somewhat ashamed I may have broken it.
So here's what happened. I forgot about xda, and was frantically searching for ways to achieve my goals. This is how I found the original firmware (I the have files). I also came across combination files (COMBINATION_FAC_FA80_J337PVPU3ASC1_FACFAC_CL13704061_QB22911276_REV00_user_mid_noship)
So being frustrated not finding a work around or working solution to unlock the device from it's previous google account. I odin flashed the combination file J337PVPU3ASC1. It did frp unlock the device. Now however I cannot reflash the original firmware back. Odin fails to flash. The phone does boot, and the combination rom seems to work fine. I would like to try to flash this back to original condition now though.
While trying to odin flash back the firmware J337PVPU1ARF1. Odin fails on recovery.img (I believe, it moves fast, it's last file I see being flashed before failure.) I get the error message in download mode of
Code:
KERNEL REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE:2, BINARY:0
Code:
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/003> SingleDownload.

<ID:0/003> FAIL!
<ID:0/003>
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Any suggestions? I know it was a stupid thing to flash that combination file, It was late, and I was being tested. Any help appreciated.
where u got the updated firmware from?
