Thanks a lot Dude!!
great! can you make default icon patch for WIFI icon too for Jigar's v.9?
THanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you
I didn't like v9 icons for WIFI, Battery and Alarm clock and I was trying to do it myself today. Unfortunately got no success. Can you please help me to understand how you did it? I am relatively new to Android dev.
This is what I did so far (I use Mac by the way)
- Copied original SystemUI.apk from v9 to my mod folder (dest - to be update icons)
- Copied SystemUI.apk from Jalebi ROM (source of my icons)
- Using apktool decompiled both the APIs to respective directories
- Copied icons (battery, wifi and alaram icons only) from source to the destination's drawable-hdpi folder (removed some unnecessary icons battery stat icons for each %)
- updated public.xml and battery_stat.xml and battery_charge.xml files to be in sync with icons
- Then using apktool again built new SystemUI.apk (apktool b SystemUI/ SystemUI.apk)
- Copied this APK to the device's /system/app (also chmod 644 /system/app/SystemUI.apk) and restarted
However this didn't work. When phone restarted the SystemUI didn't seems to work. No status bar at all. No any error too but SystemUI didn't show up.
Any idea, what did I miss? Does the apk needs to signed or something that I missed?
Thanks,
Rajendra
Hey nice work. I was about to create 1% battery mod and saw this. Perfect.
May I use this in my roms next version (suvi v6)?
I will not use it as it is. I will change WiFi icon to original one but will use 1% battery.
the 1%battery mod's zip has bad compression method. Cannot change files with 7zip.

I can help you with settings .apk, and you dont need to decompile to modify the icons, just download 7zip,when you installed it,right click on the .apk and extract it you will see the folders with the icons, then replace what you want, when you are done, just right click again in the .apk and just select open, navigate to the folder and just copy the images you replaced, close all and thats all.
its simple as that.

- vibration by using the tabs on some lockscreens is not working
- no language support, almost all lockscreens are english
but all mods are working and the 15toggles mod looks realy awesome.
keep up the good work!

decompile lidroid-res.apk witp apk-manager
(choose option 10 drag the twframework-res.apk in the open window of apk-manager)
in the project folder of lidroid-res.apk go into /res/values
and open strings.xml
change the text (lidroid ROM) in that line
<string name="hamster">lidroid ROM</string>
to "Information" or "Options" or something similar for the actions where the label is shown
compile...
now the "lidroid ROM"-label is gone in powermenue and statusbar power toggle

I know how to change text but the lidroid-res.apk file is different from the others, if you edit it and compile back you get a bootloop (and I know how certs work etc) afaik all mods made by lidroid have this protection, only on lidroid-res.apk. but thnx anyway for pointing out ^^
Btw, I attempted to change the reboot download to Quick reboot, which should call a file that executes:
busybox killall system_server
So it's pretty easy actually, but I hate smali, you might know how to get it working?
Also tried copying the smali files from an actually quick reboot app, but it failed

for me these steps are working without any bootloops.
maybe you should compile like this (works with every apk)
choose option 11 in apk-manager to compile
answer for the first question is yes
answer for the second question is no
delete the folder "META-INF" and the file "AndroidManifest.xml" in the new unsigned apk and add these files from the original apk to it
ICS THEME FOR VALUE PACKS
Caution : I will not be responsible if you do stupid mistakes and brick your phone.
The theme just replaces some apk files on your phone.
If done correctly it should not harm your phone in anyway.
I present to you Value Pack port of nitinvaid’s theme. So a BIG THANKS to him.
Theme DOES NOT INCLUDE MODS. But WILL WORK WITH mods. The idea is that, YOU have to flash your favorite mods first. Then You can flash this theme over the mods. The mods will be themed TOO. The IDEA is called MORPHING...
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR ROM SHOULD BE DEODEXED FOR THIS THEME TO WORK.
TO DEODEX, SEE THIS THREAD.
NOTE: SOME PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THAT THE THEME WORKS ON ODEXED ROMS TOO. BUT BEOFRE YOU FLASH IT ON AN ODEXED ROM, BE SURE TO TAKE A BACKUP.
CONFIRMED COMPATIBLE WITH:

WHATS THEMED:
1. twframework-res.apk

Steps to install
INSTALLATION STEPS:
Before anything, do a Nandroid backup. (IMPORTANT)
Download the latest version of the theme.
Place it on the internal or external sd card.
Reboot to CWM.
Select “install zip from sdcard”.
Select “choose zip for sdcard” if the zip is in external sd or “choose zip from internal sdcard” if on internal.
Choose Yes.
If all goes well a backup zip will be automatically made in internal or external sd in “UnversalFlasher” folder. That can be flashed to revert back to original look.

I'll fix the buttons, they kind of annoy me too. It was a mere copy paste from nitins tjeme. I'll change them in next version.
About the density, Ive worked on the default density of the phone. So images which are not 9patch will not stretch properly or not stretch at all if the density is changed. Then too will see what I can do.

I intend to include all the mods in future.
I used a program called Tickle my Android to create the zip file. It used the universal template to make the zip.

Ive thought of something. Instead of me including the mods in the tgeme, what you all can do is flash the respected mods which you like and ill provide a metamorph zip which will just replace the necessary image and layout files in the apks. Though I have not yet made that zip, it seems simple and shouldn't be a problem.
Should be ready tomorrow. (Hopefully)

Button text color was for xda app only. They have explicitly given color to button text and not provided a button bg. Hence color mismatch was occurring. By default the Button Text color is proper if you see at other places. I fixed the xda button text color and will provide it in next zip. And for that to work you should have your xda app in /data/app and not swapped to sd.
EDIT: It seems if I replace the resources.arsc from the apk it gives a security exception. So I had to resign it and will have to give you the new apk. The apk has been attached.

Read the previous post. Mods should be flashed by you first then ill provide the Themed drawables. If this doesnt work then ill include the themed modded apk itself. I'm still working on the morphing thing.
ill try it soon
Modded XDA App added to Download section. I changed the Button Text Color. Let me know if there is any problems. You can directly install over the installed app.

Hey there.
I'm not a Dev, just a Themer.
After eternities of abstinence I have started with themeing again.
Here you will find a very nice example of my work (German Forum):
--> CM7-Special-modded-by-Benski
The main reason for modding/themeing at the 10.1 was, that the Stock ROM on it looks boring and i got some troubles with the available Themes on XDA.
So I started right from scratch and will now develop step by step my Theme for the Note 10.1
On the basis of activities in the german forum as well as the familial and professional full employment, it is not possible for me to publish updating my theme constantly or fix any bugs in a timely manner.
I tested my themes extensively before publishing it so that bugs should be excluded.
My Themes based on the newest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXUCMA8 Note 10.1 / N8010 Stock ROM, but it is deodexed!
In theory, all my themes and modifications should be running on all Note 10.1. but I had only been tested on my N8010!
Requirements:
Root
Custom Recovery (CWM oder TWRP)
deodexed ROM
Installation:
download ZIP
copy the ZIP on your Device
boot into Recovery
Backup your current ROM!
flash ZIP on Recovery
reboot your device
Themes and Modifications
1% Battery-Mod
Most disturbed for me was the insufficient battery indicator, I have dedicated this first. In this ZIP, I've change the Battery Icons and the script for percent steps. Now, it shows you the 1% steps!
Screenshots (samples):
Download
SystemUI_BatteryMod.zip
- File attached -
The SystemUI.apk is full Stock. I just change the Battery. If you are running a theme on your device,
my ZIP file will overwrite your installed and themed SystemUI.apk and you getting a Stock Look back!
BatteryMod_by_Benski.zip
- File attached -
You can use the Battery Mod_by_Benski.zip if you got already a 1%Battery Mod on your 10.1. This Zip will just change the Battery Icons.
Benski's themed SystemUI.apk
The SystemUI.apk has been given a complete makeover graphically from me. Mostly all Icons are replaced. My 1%Battery Mod is already still in there. Just flash the ZIP file in your Recovery.

Benskis_themed_SystemUI.zip

Benski's themed SystemUI-V2.apk
Here is a new themed SystemUI.apk. I changed some PNGs and XML-files. The result will you see on the screenshots and in the changelog.
Attention: V2 will just work on N8010!
Screenshot (Samples):

Benskis_themed_SystemUI_V2.zip

Benski's themed SystemUI-V2_for_N8000
It seems, that the Note N8000 can't work with XML files from the N8010.
I think, thats not a real big Problem. The onliest difference is, that you don't have changed clock colours and background of notification lines. Hope, you can live with this.
Attention: you have to use "Benskis_themed_SystemUI_V2_for_N8000.zip" on N8000!

the guys from VillainTheme System
lsherif for tireless testing
Now, have fun with my Themes and Modifications

Benski
!!! ATTENTION !!!
I'm not responsible if you got trouble by flashing my themes and modifications! You do that at your own risk!

I create a SystemUI.apk, which has been given a complete makeover graphically from me and uploaded it here as an flashable ZIP.
New screenshots and the download will you find in OP.
Some notes and changes for the future will you find at the changelog.
Now, have fun with my themed SystemUI.apk
best regards
Benski
Nice work mate will try it right away .
It's a great pleasure to me, i'll expect your feedback
After installing the three zip files theme, battmod and system UI , i had force close to the system Ui and my status bar has gone , so I thought that the problem was from the system UI , tried again without flashing the system Ui , but really nothing changed except the batt .
Running collection v6 rom , n8000 .
You dont't have to flash all three files. One file is enough.
I recommend to flash just the last one --> benskis_themed_SystemUI.zip
Everything is in there, my BattMod and also the themed SystemUI.
If you just want to change your BattIcon, than flash the SystemUI_BattMod or BatteryMod by Benski. But not both!
Everything is discribed in OP, pls read it carefully
Unfortunately still have the same problem fc of the status bar .

Well, I tried to use Benskis_themed_SystemUI with the stock deodex N8000XXCMC5. The result was an error message: "Unfortunately, SystemUI has stopped" :crying: Da ist der Hund begraben? Or I do something not correctly?
mhm...
maybe there are some differences between the SystemUI.apk's on N8000 and N8010, but i can't believe it.
I've tested my modded version a few days and got no problems during the flash and the running.Ii flashed my new Version over the SystemUI_BatteryMod.zip and got no FC or any other issues...
I'll build a other Update-ZIP on weekend, which change just the PNG's but not the SystemUI.apk. Hopefully, the problems will be gone
You can ask advice from NadMaj I'm sure he will help .

Flashed and looks really nice, one problem though, I have flashed the required mod first then the first theme everything is themed except for status bar, the clock not in centre and the battery icon still the same, looks like only the wifi connection icon has changed also the pulldown is not transparent just black.
Tried flashing carbon theme after reboot and still the same, everything changed except for status bar and pulldown not transparent.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
P.s I am using Wanam 1.4 rom with standard kernell.

the mod is not installed ... where you put the two zip in internal or extenal memory? i think is the kernel ... have you flashed other themes before? and work?
I'm using faux kernel
Nope this is the first theme that I have tried will move mod to internally memory and flash again and see what happens.
Edit: tried flashing with pursues kernel still no success but got it working by manually copying the file over to system app. Now it is working great.
Thanks for the feedback

No last Wanam is 1.4 BMF3.
Only see now this is for i9505 not for i9500 so in that case the latest wanam most probably is 1.2 sorry.
But now you know that this also works on the i9500

Simple actually. I first installed the mod through cwm which obviously did not seem to work.
Then I installed the theme that worked with the problems as mentioned with statusbar and pulldown.
I simply extracted the SystemUI.apk from the zip file and then by using Root Explorer copied it over to /sytem/app.
The phone did a immediate soft reboot once I copied the file and there it was.... The changed themed status bar and Pulldown.
O yes I had to re flash the theme after this due to the Icons on the pull down not being themed, after I flashed the theme again everything was ok.
So I think the steps are just to copy the systemUI.apk to /system/app and over write the existing one ( Do make backup just in case ), then reboot into recovery and flash the theme
Will upload some screen shots in a moment
