Cant change Meid... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

OK so I made it my project today to actually switch my boost account over to my verizon S3. im tech savvy but im at my wits end, and im very ****ing frustrated at this point. i never ask for help.
The only problem im having is changing both the ESN, and MEID. I have tried DFS. CDMA workshop 2.7, QXDM, etc.
In DFS, it looks like it saves, but upon reading right after writing, it has been reverted.
Calling from the SIII gives boost error " Message 5, switch 182"
Do I need the 16 digit pwd to change esn through CDMA? how would I get that if so?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried just about everything it feels like...

I'm pretty sure nobody on xda is allowed to help you in regards to changing the ESN.

I have no opinion on this subject nor do I care to. However my thinking goes more along the lines of preventing the use of this site as a means to clone phones. Example: if someone retrieves a stolen/lost phone and there's a maintained guide on xda detailing how to clone or modify that ESN to work, that could get the site in trouble I would presume. I am not equating or remotely suggesting the OP is doing this but the provided example conflicts with rule 9.
That's all my opinion.
Edit: And I'll just add this here as exhibit A and exhibit b.

Yup no bad intentions here, I already broke the old phone. just happy with voice and text.
I have seen a post online about this guy straight up admitting that he was wanting to clone his wifes phone becuase she cheated on him. doing stuff like that should be illegal. and I understand peoples point of view on the subject. I dont take it to heart because I just want my phone back. the donor phone I used had an unusable screen, and the fact that I got it activated was only because the customer service rep told me exactly what keys to press when the menus were supposed to appear.

Regardless of bad intentions or not. XDA doens't allow discussion of changing meid, IMEI, etc. The reason is its very simple to not only use the same techniques on stolen devices or get around provider limitations. Both can get us in trouble. Thread locked

AT&T reps get their info from phone arena

So yesterday i was talking to a AT&T rep, and i had asked some questions about the phone and she was reading exactly everything from phone arena. word by word, i even brought up the Atrix just to confirm my theory. yep.
Not true! I get my info from here

definitely not what ALL the reps do. I do all my research when i find out we are releasing a device. Not that its a bad thing that she got her info from there anyways.
As an Att rep, you shouldnt throw us all under a blanket because of one rep you talked to. Phone arena not an inaccurate source anyway. Just not my first choice.

Well in just saying. Like don't you all have the specs of the phone on your own system? Seems kinda weird that they use different sources.

when i ask questions about new phones they often say "let me check" and they google it! so yes your theory may be true

Yes this what I'm trying to say. Its not a bad thing. Just weird that some of them are not informed about a recently realeased device. Like for example when she asked what phone I had she's asked if it was a new phone.

We get our info from whatever basis we can. I don't take offense to this because it's partly true. Any of you other AT&T reps (like myself) know that within our company you have the "haves" and "have-nots"...personally, if you're on XDA you're a "HAVE." You are intelligent enough to read and translate what half the stuff on this site means. Think about your counterparts in your stores/locations. We all have that handful that knows bullmoose about these devices. The "Pantechs" of the company, lol. We know how to browse the web to find what we need as AT&T doesn't necessarily give us the FULL specs on phones-just what they want us to push to our customers. So, just know going in that you have a grab bag of reps with different knowledge bases and strengths on these subjects...be prepared...
Stores don't hire knowledgeable people.
Walk into any Best Buy, GameStop, etc. None of them know what they're talking about.

haha yeah, when i got my atrix at best buy,
me: by any chance do you know what are my download speeds?
Sales person: 4G speeds.
me: ... thanks...
I ask reps questions to see what they know....always been let down lol not sure why they work there if they don't have a clue.
i have to say that it is better than the sprint reps i have dealt with. i was checking out the epic for a girlfriend that liked my phone and was on sprint and i didnt like the contacts, launcher, and mms apps compared to other sgs phones. the dumb biatch kept repeating that it was the best phone on the market, and im like i know i have an sgs, it's right here and att had it before you had this. and she kept trying to tell me how the epic was so great, i kept finding reasons tw3 apps were better than tw 2.5 apps and asked about call forwarding so it can use google voice as voice mail, told her it was free on att and i didnt want surcharges for call forwarding. she tried to sell me there transcription service which is also a pay service. i gave up and walked out. it wasnt that she was trying to show knowledge, it was that she had a nasty tone of voice and discredited everything i said with the comment "this is the best phone on the market" and showed me no respect. it was clear she was just regurgitating stuff fed to her because we couldn't have a discussion. my att reps like talking to me because they usually learn something.

Hi I would like to buy an iphone 4g.
okay sure, anything specific that draws you to an iphone?
yes. it has 4g and apps.
-_-
^^^^^^^^^^
LMFAO!
yeah i do see people go into the att store and ask for an iphone. not "hey im interested in a smartphone and would like to know what's out there" just "i want to get an iphone, how much is it" i just smile and think their loss.
atleast i can get insureance on my infuse and the price scales over time. the iphone is still $300 for a 32gig version. a captivate or inspire is down to $50-$100 and the infuse as a new release is $200 but is sure to go down with the release of the attain.

[Q] Still hoping for an IMEI fix

Hi All,
I was one of the unlucky ones that lost my IMEI recently due to corrupt efs folder without any backup after flashing a ROM. My phone still works fine but I'm concerned about the default IMEI being blocked and any other effects of losing the files in the efs folder.
I had my phone imported from the US by a friend so returning it or sending to a Samsung service center is not an option because there are none that deal with phones in my country.
As a non Linux user and non-developer I have tried everything within my knowledge and spent hours searching the Internet to no avail. To resolve this issue we really need the help of an experienced developer.
So my questions is:
Is anyone still working on a solution? I'm sure there are still quite a few people that would really appreciate your help.
Thanks!
Only samsung have a box to generate a correct efs folder... Stop looking for a solution, not exist. There are people working for fix in a Galaxy S for a year ago and have no solution
Sorry but this is the reality (And I'm in the same situation than you, I was bought my Nexus the past december in US and I live in spain...)
Enjoy your phone while works... I will do
Try sending it to Samsung for warranty repair (restore using Odin first though or they might not work on your modified device).
Won't work...in order to fix this issue, I even made some friends with the guys in Samsung Service Center here in China. They only have Odin for each device...If I were an American, maybe things could be easier. As far as I heard, the Riff Box cannot even fix this.

i still hope that in the development section are only dev posts! :O
There is a reason we have rules on this forum...
Restoring an IMEI is illegal in some countries, changing it in most, that's why there's no real solution for this problem.

Questions belong in Q&A. Thread closed.
Also, talk of IMEI hacking is not allowed here. While this particular case isn't agaisnt the law, the solution, if one existed, would allow others to break the law.

Carrier IQ

I'm sorry, because I know that it has probably been covered, but searching for a thread on my phone is impossible, and my internet at home is out for the time being, so my phone is the only way to view xda.
Anyways, I read about somebody asking about carrier IQ on the ATT galaxy note forum, so it made me curious to see if my infuse had it. I installed lookout's carrier IQ detector, and it said that my device DOES have carrier IQ. I read more about it in the app, and it said it will tell you your phone does have it if any part/file of carrier IQ is present, not even the whole thing.
So am I safe since I am running Zeus? If it is only part of the carrier IQ on my phone, that shouldn't make a difference or be a problem, right?
Again, please don't tell me to search, I know very well how to do so when I have access to internet on a computer, my phone is just a hassle with no specific forum searching.
Thanks for any help!

[Q] Browser form data retrieve? HELP!

Dear members,
Is there in any way to retrieve data from a form I filled.
I just sold an iphone, but the guy paid with fake money. Kinda stupid from me to not check it.
Anyhow, I typed in the IMEI number on this website:http://www.unlockboot.com/2011/06/free-imei-checker-with-simlock-status-fixed.html
But I can't find it anymore, that IMEI number.
I wonder if there is a way to retrieve this data.
Thanks very much!
What the hell has this got to do with a Galaxy S2??
Because i typed this number on my S2. Thought it was different for every phone.

How to send my phone thief a text and pull their imei?

I am sure I know how and where my stolen is. I lost it at this location where it was stolen. Then a few months pass and it pops up in the hands of the owner of the location business it was stolen at.
I haven't grabbed the phone from the guy but I know he is using his old number, he said his other phone was stolen.
How do I some how send a message to the phone to determine it's imei number?
I have the IMEI number of my phone and want to track it to be 100% sure it is in fact my phone.
He may of used the IMEI from his old phone.
How should I approach this situation?
Thanks
Well the best case would be if you have any documents that proofs the imei belongs to you.
Sending a ping message to the specific imei device depends on the phone company. Like my samsung it has this service, fot example I can lock the device remotely and iphones can even be even located.

Unfortunately you havent registered/configured your phone for the service, but you still can give a try at the customer service on this website: http://findmymobile.samsung.com/
this is the best what i can do for you.
good luck
and tell us afterwards if you are successful or not :good:
Okay so what's this samsung crap about? That's the stupidest thing ever, the first thing a smart thief does is turn the phone off. Then they wipe the nand and reinstall a fresh os completely. There's absolutely 0% chance any COMPLETE IDIOT would ever try and use the pre-existing operating system. So I need to determine where it is via the IMEI...
I lost my Moto G4 plus on 5th March during a marriage ceremony. How can I send a ping message.I have registered a police complaint to cyber police.
