This happened to me recently. I ended up having to install a custom ROM. Check out cm 10 for something close to stock. Good luck

Download WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
You can restore your phone to stock & also solve the loop problem with this program.

no idea, it randomly started for me a few months ago one day. I was completely stock, not even rooted or unlocked. I tried everything, but the only thing that eventually worked was installing cyanogenmod.

what is stock rom

stock rom
Hi,
a stock rom is the software that is on your phone when you bought and don't have a branding on it.
yeah basically, its the software that came with your phone straight out the box.
untouched/unmodded/etc
software that is on your phone when you bought and don't have a branding on it.
if i rooted my device and i backed up that ROM, does that count as Stock ROM too?
i understand that there are modified ROM's out there that can be installed (flashed), so rooting does not count as modifying the ROM...right?

no that is just a stock rom you have added busybox su binary and superuser app to it .
You can fully unroot that. and it ll be again like your old stock rom
its kinda in it name..little research goes a long way.
Before flashing custom rom some developer ask to flash stock rom given by them, does there is any difference in that rom & the one install in our smartphone but get update through ota to other firmware version than the given version....??

i think after updating phone using ota service some time changed kernel version and custom rom not supporting that kernel so they tell us to flash stock before install their rom.

Hello. If I rooted my phone (with Kingo Android Root) and then unrooted, but did not make a backup, is there any hope of restoring the phone? I did not flash a new rom. I had only copied my SD card files to my PC. I'm stuck at the set-up stage (I get force-close each time). Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks much

[Q] Help! Rooted phone with Custom Mode, ROM Manager Bricked

Hey guys,
I just got my phone and it updated to 4.4 pretty much out of the box. I still wanted to root so I used a method I found on here (will find if necessary) which is supposed to not trip the KNOX by putting the phone into "Custom Mode." Everything went fine until I tried to use ROM Manager to install CM.
When I boot I get the message "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help." I've tried reflashing using Odin, clearing the cache and factory resets, but I get the same error every time.
I'm currently downloading another stock ROM which might work, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem?
Thank you!

You are permanently stuck on the TW 4.3 OTA because the bootloader is signed with special keys that prevents:
-installing a custom recovery
-flashing custom roms/kernels
-downgrading your software below 4.3
If you can boot into download mode, do this 4.3 soft brick method.
With TW 4.3 OTA, all you can do is root using a tool called: Saferoot.
If you have 4.3 stock firmware you can root and that's it, no custom recovery, no custom rom, kernel, nothing, and just a heads up there are like 10 threads where people don't read and have done what you have, you need to flash the Odin 4.3 image for you phone to work again, never take an ota, enjoy your locked down device now

My pleasure but all the thanks is owed to ThePagel, make sure to post your success in his thread. The more people that report their success with that method, then the less fear someone else may have in using that should they suffer the same experiences. :victory::good::good:
If you need any updates on the state of TW 4.3 then keep this discussion thread bookmarked.
I did the same thing today. The 4.3 update installed by itself!!! So i rooted it using Saferoot,
i installed rom manager, clicked the Install rom from sd card and i got that message. it will repeat that message and it wont boot. So i went into Odin mode and hit the volume down button to restart it. And after that it booted normally.
So basically i am stuck with 4.3? and is there 4.4 out for our phones yet?
also forgot to mention, it says my OS is custom when i first realized it updated.

Once you successfully updated with 4.3, you stuck with 4.3, there is no going back or flash anything and 4.3 is the latest factory rom for now. There's no 4.4 yet for our phone. There is custom 4.4 but only for people who didn't take the 4.3 update. Since they still have unlocked bootloader so they could load any custom rom.

Dang this sucks. I have no idea how it installed automatically then. I was listening to music the whole time. And I was trying to get a custom 4.4 after the update...

Can't load firmware on Odin phone bricked

I recently rooted my phone to try and recover some deleted pictures after the phone completely crashed and wouldn't load up , I have tried to install an original firmware using Odin but I keep getting the same message about not being authorized . Am I installing the wrong files or am I not doing something thathat causes it to fail?
Where did you download the firmware? Are you sure you're using the correct version?
Are you on a G930T or a G935T?
I had the same problem on mine before, what solved it was downloading a later version of the firmware, as you can't downgrade just like that.
You can download the latest firmware from Sammbile. (I would link but I have less than 10 posts.
The T stands for T-Mobile, and the 930 is the regular, 935 is the edge. If you're not T-Mobile, you're in the wrong section, but I'm still glad to help once I obtain more information.

Always flash the most recent firmware becasue if you don't remember chances are you can flash an old version and run into issues, so to be safe flash the latest available firmware. Also when you first rooted did you change the CPU governor or run/install anything that could have caused the bootloop in the first place?

You can install this awesome rom to speed things up don't worry it's a stock rom so no Knox trip. The link I will provide also has instructions. So to get started I recommend making a backup of applications with titanium backup which might require the pro so unfortunately you may have to buy a full version( if you don't want to spend money you can patch the app with lucky patcher). And I recommend checking out this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...stockdeodexeddebloatedrom-7-10-t3415952/page1
It is somewhat debloated and has the best speed I've seen yet... Ive been using it for a month now and I love it!

Why is my S7 Stuck on the T-Mobile screen / Doesn't work and how do I fix it?

So, I rooted my S7. It worked fine. One day, randomly out of no where it bootlooped (Google play services crashed. I restarted phone and it bootlooped. )
I have not made a single system modification other then rooting it. Didn't mod anything or mess with system files, and I had barely even been using the phone when it happened.
So I unrooted it (The phone still gave me the "Custom" symbol though) and Just now-- It randomly restarted. I didn't restart it. it just did it by itself. And it came into a bootloop. I don't understand why. What can I do to fix this?
MORE SPECIFICALLY: By Bootloop, I mean it stays on the T-Mobile screen and vibrates every minute or so and does not do anything (I even left it alone for ~ 30minutes and it never got past this screen)
Factory resetting the phone fix's it, but I don't want to factory reset my $400 phone every week! I don't understand how I could fix this either.
What method did you use to unroot? Did you flash stock firmware with odin?

All I did pretty much was flash stock s7 firmware. (More specifically boot.img)
Originally couldn't find a stock s7 image then I just used one I already had and it worked fine
EDIT: Flashed the entirety of G930TUVU4APK1 firmware, (Rom and all) Hopefully this will fix my issue and stop it from happening but if Anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'm all open

Just now noticed wat your problem is sorry for being late so yes to fix the bootloop refladh stock firm and when you go through all the root steps install xposed (yes it's possible it's insane on how they got it to work but it's possible I've done with my self)after getting xposed installed through flash fire go to xposed and get xtouchwiz something it's a blue gear install that And it will set your system status as official

stable android 11 released for op7p

why is no one discussing stable android 11 for op7p ? got my update round 3 a.m. this morning. been searching all day for a working twrp since the stable android 11 been released. no luck though......
Hi,
Today I installed the update manually and my phone keeps flashing the TWRP load-screen at boot. It's stuck now. Is that because there is no compatible TWRP version yet? How do I fix this?? Any idea?
There is no working TWRP yet for Android 11. You'll need to flash the stock boot.img or rooted boot.img from one of the threads in the news, guides section.
Edit: TWRP screen flashing is because it's incompatible. I had the same issue on the open betas.
Have the exact same issue as above, Twrp screen flashing, cannot boot back to normal even with adb... anybody has a rooted boot.img link that knows works with Android 11?
Should have checked on xda first *slaps his face*
Always check xda first *slaps his face again*
EDIT: For other poor saps with this issue use this -> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=2188818919693770594 I didnt managed to get booted with rooted img but the original boot img file worked well ... at least I got a phone now...

No, its not the same process.... For me for example I couldnt get wifi to actually work on rooted image AND you lose the ability to do backups via TWRP..... Refer here for the latest on this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...p-recovery-for-oneplus-7-pro.3931322/page-153

I mean.. same steps.. that ive used so far amd retain its root.
1. Download rom via o2 updater
2. Flash it via local update
3. Install magisk to inactive slot
4. Reboot.
So if i do this.. wifi wont work??? Is that it???
Finished updating my phone..after downloading it for about 2 hours.
And im quite satisfied with the results. No problems whatsoever..
Glad for you... You probably had already removed the encryption on your mobile... from what I'm reading that is the main incompatibility issue with TWRP...
FWIW after playing around for a day, I had to revert everything Phone wifi was weird (weirder with root and all mods disabled) and system was a little unstable in some 3p apps and there seems to be some bugs with the phone screen 60/90 refresh... Gonna wait a bit to update again.
