Guys I'm using minicm9 #4..
Before the battery used to come for a day but now only 7-8hrs.. that's it!! I tried calibarating the battery.. but no use ..any solution??
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
The battery shows almost 12 hours with 32% of the battery remaining which means it could easily work 1.5 hours more till it becomes 1-2% and that is a battery life of 13.5 hours, not that bad, plus I can see that you are using 3G mobile data which consumes more battery than 2G networks..If you need more than:
1) Your screen is using maximum battery, set the screen brightness to your requirement to make sure it doesn't use up unnecessary battery.
2) if the problem still exists Try any other ROM..Mini CM10 is also good+stable(everything working and smooth as butter) with some good genuine battery saving apps like Juice defender along with it(if you want to use it).
3)if the problem still exists,it could be a hardware problem.
No actually before also.. I mean a month back I was using the same rom with all the same features like 3G mode and the screen display etc..and it used to come for a day and now it's less!!

Check out with some kind of app what's draining it, examples: GSam battery monitor, Better battery stats, Wakelock detector. If there is nothing wrong.... your battery maybe gone.
Okay I installed wake lock detector..
But I'm not getting any thing here.. can you tell me what's that in pic?

Well,As per screenshot,
1St. ~juice defender is holding a big wake lock ~some suggest to delete that app.
2nd Android ~nothing much you can do
3 google services ~disable auto sync and maps etc
4 media ~ listening to music /touch tones on your phone.
Well that's what the screenshot says

Also, see which of the apps is running unnecessarily in the background which is using up your RAM and freeze them using Titanium Backup Pro or any other 3rd party app from the market. You can defrost it whenever you want to use it and again freeze it for the time being. This will certainly save some battery...

Ginger break v1.2 after alpharevx s-off

Settings> Audio> pocket mode off, vibration feedback off, other stuff that might use the proximity and the G sensor off.
Also check your installed apps some of them tend to stay active even after you "quit" them (you can't actualy quit). Download "system panel" for that, and you will see in te left of an app if it uses the cpu Even if an app is there is not actualy draining battery, only if it uses the cpu.
So don't use task killers, they will only drain you more battery.
I keep my screen on auto brightness, and i still get 2 days.
Hope i helped you.
Though I just S-off and rooted but will still try out what you guys say

I don't have a problem with my Desire S regarding the battery, i mainly use it for sms and few calls disabled wifi, bluetooth, brightness very low, disabled key tones, and vibrate. For 12hrs i still have 94% batt life left..

Leedroid ROM, and unity kernel = awesome combination.
I get really really good battery life
At least much better than stock!
I'm using LBC mod, the newest released version works wonders for the battery!
the max have gotten so far with all the tweaking n stuff is like about 12hrs . . . .is there something wrong with the battery or am i missing something?

I used to have this problem constantly. I'm not lucky when it comes to battery life.
Could be the battery. Try LBC v0.6 and get setcpu. See if that helps if you haven't done so already.
Unity kernel sucked my battery dry.

Have you tried the tiamat kernel? Also, I recommend investing in Tasker to squeeze the most out of your battery. Simply having it automatically go into airplane mode when you sleep helps. Get it (like me) turning auto-sync on for 2 minutes every 15 minutes aswell, and you get over 24 hours battery with heavy use.

On second inspection. Yes LBC is still draining my battery dry. You're not alone. It's beautiful when screen off, but as soon as the screen is on, and its like 1% per minute. Scary.

I had this problem when still on stock ROM and had a few widgets collecting data in the background. It wasn't all that severe though; I had to charge the phone once a day. Since I installed LBC mod, I only have to charge the phone every two days
Use this to track down the battery drain...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats
And/or this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031124
If it's data traffic related this'll point you at which specific app is using it...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.radioopt.widget&feature=search_result
Then either un-install the culprit, or try different kernel, or freeze the sucka using Titanium Backup. See if that helps. Either way, would be interested to know what you discover.
1% per minute is scary drain I agree. Something not quite right there. You're not OC to silly levels are you?
Yes, the new lbc ROM gas a drainage problem... Mine was dropping very fast. Switched back to leedroid, great battery life again! (Stock kernel) I also use setcpu
I reckon it could last me 2 days moderate usage, and 3 light usage!

My sensation actually drains battery less whe its using somehing or on. This happen on pyramid3d. And miui frm tripndroid. Illike I'll listen to mussic for 1 hour, and it will be 100 to 96. And when I let it standby, it will go to like 88 in a hour. Is this normal?

I had an issue similar to this. Every other day the battery would drain in half a day (when usually it would last a good 12 hours +)
Under the battery usage tab it was showing the phone as being awake for almost all of the time (Even though I hadn't used or touched the phone)
I think it was a Kernel issue (Correct me please if I'm wrong, just a small time n00b) As I was using the stock shipped rom but just rooted.
Anyway, upgraded now, and it seems to be ok so far! *touch wood*
Would suggest you look under the battery usage graph and see what that tells you.
Ill reply in 12 hours. Since I just ubplugged from charger

You could've installed a bad app. Faulty/bad apps will stop the phone from sleeping. Look for apps that (when you install them) list that they can prevent the phone from sleeping in the permissions list.
If you've not installed too many, remove one at a time, leave for a while, and then check battery section in Settings to see if it's no longer staying awake.
If you find the app, contact the developer through the market so they can fix it.

Also, if you have it, keep WiFi connected when in range. Uses less battery than mobile data. Switch it off when you're not connected of course.

Better Battery Stats
Start by installing Better Battery Stats:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
That will help pinpoint what is running the battery.
If you lose 10% in like 30 minutes, that means that whatever you're doing, you can do that for like 5 hours. That may not be bad at all, depending on what it is you're doing.
Of course, if you're doing nothing and have the device in your pocket or on your desk with the screen off, 5 hours really bad.

Can you explain how auto brightness causes battery drain, because that's new to me. I assume if I'm using the optimal backlight for the room, I'm using optimal battery.
If you're in a bright environment, brightness on the screen goes up with auto brightness
Manually set the screen brightness to low = less battery consumption

auto brightness doesn't even effect the battery performance. Speaking of "battery saver" apps, don't ever use those, it only makes the problem worse. I suggest don't use live wallpapers, end unnecesarry background apps, or just free the phone storage
Hello Guy . Im using The Carbon Rom 4.2.2 on my Verizon S3 .. I would try a custom kernel that lets you change clock speeds when the system is off. Right now you have 28% battery drain. I usually have anywhere from 2-9% with the phone of most of the time. A custom kernel will also allow you to change govoners and schedulers which can sacrifice some performance for bettrr battery life.
I couldn't upload pictures but on clean rom 6 running ktoonse kernel I got 6hrs screen on time 13.5hrs up time and a 6.4% battery drain. That's with a 4400mah battery so you should be able to get at least half that time with heavy use (my stats are at heavy use) and that only ran my battery down to 30%

Tap on the battery graph and post a picture a screenshot so we can see what's causing the wakelocks. Thats a pretty solid linear blue line you have there...

I need a way to debug my phone and figure out what is causing such high CPU usage and poor battery life. After startup, my phone sticks at 100% until it freezes and restarts but sometimes I get lucky and it goes down a few percentages but freezes again when I start multi tasking a bit. I don't know what changed. Any app to debug or log what's going on?
Also my phone will read a low battery amount and when I restart, it jumps up 20-30 points

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Install Wake Lock Detector to find out which process is hogging your CPU time.
From what I can tell, all the normal startup apps (mesages, facebook, widgets), are using full amount of CPU. All of them. The blue bars were full. That's for the few minutes after startup being 100% usage. Still investigating the random spikes that occurs while using my phone. It's a matter of being able to open and use this app as my phone becomes unresponsive

So I've been running apps and periodically monitoring my CPU. When it starts to get above 80% on both 0 and 1, I check what's up with wakelock detector and it doesn't even list the app I'm using when my cpu spikes like dolphin. It happens often with dolphin, tumblr, games. But they don't appear in wakelock.
The apps that do appear are barely doing anything

I found someone with a very similar problem, only it's happening even with mobile network disabled

What's your battery ?
4 hours is very low. Maybe you need new battery..
And which rom exactly do you use ?
I used Inspiration 1.0.1 for a log time and i had the best battery life on this rom. it works fine with lower CPU/GPU frequency. Vipers 5.0.0 also seems to have nice battery life (i'm on it now).
