Hi All,
On GT-I9100, Android 4.1.2 BuildNUmber JZO54K.I9100XWLSD, I have installed Safe Stock kernel (PhilZ-cwm6 v4.87 with CWM 6.0.2.8 based recovery XWLSD). I then rooted using "Universal Rooting for most phones, Any ROM, now with CWM6 Methdo1" everything ok.
I am trying to make my battery lasting longer, and I do not need many apps. I checked on the different ROM and I wanted to install XWLSD_NeatROM_Lite_V4_3, I copied on external sd and try to install but no sucess, it always come back, after selecting the zip to install, as "Can't open xwlsd..... zip Bad".
I am not an expert, I am sure I have missed something but I do not know what. I did the wipe before installing etc ... but no chance. If anyone could give me a hint on my mistakes, it would be great.
I wounder if the XXMS1 can be installed ?
Thanks

So I'm trying to update my rooted 3.0.1 euro 3G xoom to the 3.2 Hammerhead ROM, and here's something that is really confusing me:
I've installed ROM Manager 4.3.3.0 from the Market. Then I downloaded and flashed ClockworkMod Recovery 3.2.0.0 R4c via this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979
So far so good: I can boot to recovery and it looks that everything is working nicely... with the exception of the following:
1) Even though I have CWM installed, ROM Manager won't recognize it. It keeps asking to install it. I haven't done that though because I don't want to overwrite the one I flashed... how can I get ROM Manager to recognize CWM? Or, if I install a different CWM version through the ROM Manager interface, will that overwrite the existing install, or even break something?
2) I can't find Nandroid in the recovery menu of 3.2.0.0 R4c. It says that it should be there in the Wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_backup_or_recover_via_Nandroid), but no sir. I only have the options Backup and Advanced Backup in recovery; it doesn't say Nandroid anywhere.
The thing is - I made a normal backup and it created a folder with .img files in it, along with a nandroid.md5 file. So is this a full Nandroid backup or not? And should it not be a zip file? Meaning - will I be able to revert to this backup through ROM Manager or CWM later if it's not a zip?
3) Lastly, I want to install the Tiamat 2.1 Hammerhead ROM. solarnz writes in the instructions in step 6 to "install the rom". So do I do that from recovery? Or from ROM Manager? Which brings me back to my first problem, that ROM Manager won't recognize CWM and won't let me install a ROM without it.
Also - can I install the Hammerhead ROM from my rooted 3.0.1 device at all, or should I install 3.1 first?
I know these are a lot of questions all at once, but after hours and hours of searching and reading (and learning a lot!), I still can't figure this part out.
Many thanks to anyone who can help me make sense of this!

Forget about Rom Manager. You have the correct recovery installed and you have made a "nandroid" backup when you used the backup option in CWM recovery 3.2.0.0 R4c. The Rom you want to flash needs to be on your MicroSD card and that needs to be in your Xoom when you boot into recovery. It is from the CWM recovery menu that you will choose to flash the zip file that will install the Rom. You will need to be able to boot into recovery and you can do it by pressing volume up and power to get to dual core screen, then after 3 seconds, press volume down then volume up and you should be in recovery. Or you could download Quick Boot from the market and use its boot into recovery option (that's what I do).
About the version you need to be on to flash Hammerhead...what does it say? I think you may need to be on 3.1 but just read the OP on the Hammerhead thread...it will tell you the requirements.
Good luck!
Thanks a lot for explaining that okantomi, that's very helpful and reassuring!
The only thing I'm left with now is to figure out the version part... the rom OP doesn't say anything about a required version. Here's the thread btw: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203635
I made my way through the first 18 or so pages of the 434 total pages in that thread, but still couldn't find any info on that. I'll keep looking - not giving up
Quick update... I decided to just go for it. I flashed the 3.2 ROM onto 3.0.1 - it worked perfectly without any hiccups whatsoever. I'm now running Androud 3.2 with 3G and it works beautifully. Can you see that I'm smiling?

Me too! ;^ )
Enjoy your shiny new Rom!
I installed ClockworkMod's ROM Manager v.4.8.0.6 which includes ClockworkMod (CWM) to backup stock ROM on brand new Samsung i9000m.
Problem #1 with ROM Manager
CWM won't install because it does not have verified signatures which my device requires to install it.
I removed ROM Manager and re-booted.
I installed ROM Toolbox.
Problem #2 with ROM Manager
With ROM Toolbox, when trying to backup ROM I get the message:ROM Manager blocked other apps from creating backups in recovery unless ROM Manager Premium is installed.
Once you install ROM Manager Premium you can use ROM Toolbox to backup your ROM. From stock Recovery I wiped and restored, tried all over again with same results. I can reboot into stock recovery, but I cannot backup my ROM.
This is bad. No application should hook into and lock-up your device in such a way that you cannot get it properly recovered, or prevent another application from properly backing-up your ROM.
I have sent emails and tweets to the developer but have yet to receive a reply.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I cannot proceed until I get a full backup, which from the message I am getting, ROM Manager is preventing from doing unless I send money.
you can search google or xda for cwm recovery or amonra and flash it

Every time I try to flash something my tablet fails, and I have to revert back my backup. It doesn't matter if I download on PC or from the tablet itself. HELP!!!!
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Can you post what rom you are using right now, as well as what recovery version.
Also, what rom are you trying to flash ? You are rooted, right ?
If you can post some more details - am sure people will chime in
Good luck,

I'm running stock 4.0.4, Rooted, Clockworkmod recovery. I have tried to flash several different roms. Romswell, AOKP, CM nightlies thru ROM manager. all of them fail in recovery. I flash stuff all the time on my SIII so I'm not really a Noob to flashing and what not, but I can't figure this one out. Thanks for any help.
What are you using for recovery? When you say failed what is the error message? Sounds like you should prolly reflash a current official recovery. If by failing you mean it hangs on first boot then your not wiping system before flashing. Factory reset and wipe system before you flash.
Are you by chance running any scripts for sd card swap, etc ?
I am running this script, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961097 which swaps my 32GB external sd for the internal sd, which runs great - no issues, except with rom manager and flashing from recovery.
I have to go back and de-activate the script, reboot, and then dowload - or transfer file from PC, and it flashes without issue
Otherwise, I have had no flashing issues of any kind - using CWM 6.0.1.5 for the p3113
Good luck,
Bill
I hope this question is not redundant, but I want to know if I should consider my tablet as an 8013 which it was,or as an 8000 with the gnabo rom v6,when I go to certain websites its identified as gt-8000, others see it as gt-8013, I installed initially with cwm recovery and rom was installed only, Cwm would not install KK kernal or su zip or anything else so I uninstalled Cwm and installed Twrp with 8013 zip, I then finished flashing rest of rom package then wifi fix later, all is ok except what I can see of sd card= all files were empty except the downloaded file folder, When I use flashify it doesnt show boot image and when I touch recovery it asks if I want to d/l TWRP when I already have TWRP and working? 1. Should I use twrp for 8013 or8000 2.Should I be concerned about all files being empty? Also when going to KK4.43, are you limited as to access to sd card? Thanks to any and all for any help offered. By the way,I do really like the rom, very nice!!! JW
I'm wondering this myself.
If the leaked firmware is flashed does it permanently change the device? And secondly if I flash from Hyperdrive 4.1.2 to Gnabo V6 is it possible to restore the Hyperdrive rom?
Thanks for any help
Hello,
I have a Samsung galaxy tab 2 (p5110), with root and clockwork recovery.
When i wan't to install a rom (made for p5110) i get the error (status 7) even when i alter the file with notepad or if i 'toggle signature vertification.
I have tried it with mutiple ROMS (like slimrom) but they all don't work.
Can someone please help me?
Try updating your recovery, allot of the new roms are running Kitkat and if your recovery is outdated it won't work.
Pp.
I have ROM manager clockworkmod 6.0.2.7 witch should be the latest version.
I also have ROOT, so i don't understand why no rom will install on my tab...
Any progress with your tablet?
Pp.
No, it still doesn't work
Here is exacty what I do:
- Download a ROM (from XDA) for the P5110
- Put the ROM on a SD card (in the samsung tab)
- Boot into clockwork recovery (version 6.0.2.7)
- Install from external SD card
- Get error 7 (even if I put verification signature on)
Witch forces me to re-install my backup of android 4.2.2 samsung tab 2
I must be doing something wrong, but i can't figure out what...
Thanks for the help
Looks like the rooting method doesn't really went well.
What you're doing isn't wrong in my opinion.
You could try to reroot the tab.
Might wanna install original firmware with odin and start the progtess again.
But when I use rootchecker, it says my tablet is rooted, also most of the root apps work (like Greenify, xposed installer apps, SuperSU)
I rooted it some time back, using something like cappuchino (??, it was some time ago hahaha).
If i must do it again, what guide to root do you use personally?
Thanks

Normally I look at the Zedomax movies on Youtube.
When i had a Sammy tab (i thought it was the p7500?) I remember rooting it by some of the Zedomax (HighOnAndroid) movies on youtube.
It is strange that rootchecker etc says you are rooted.
You can try to return to stock and like i said before reroot everything. But... could it be that you are on a current bootloader wich is not the same as the rom you are trying to install ?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
I have tried ALL the ROM's from XDA for p5110...
Witch bootloader do you recommend?
Why put rom on external SD card?
Typical download goes to internal, select from internal not external. Forget about the external, typically I move stuff I don't want to erase to external but not roms or gapps.
Pp.
Here is a screenshot of the last ROM & gapps I installed.
These downloaded straight to SD card (internal) typical instructions from developers is to (download and install from internal.)
Try it, you might like it. ? ?
Pp.
tried to install another rom from XDA (for p5110) kitkat from internal sd
Still doesn't work...
Here a screen:
Check your downloads make sure your downloading for your specific model, make sure you have a P5110 ?
Pp.
Downloads are specificly for p5110
I'm sure i have GT-P5110, see photo.
??? Running out of suggestions, maybe try installing a stock rom.
Look in original development.
Pp.
hahaha just my luck...
Where can i find stock roms?
Try Google xda has no original development for GTAB 2..
Just check the dates, don't d/l old stuff.
Pp.
While you're running the latest OFFICIAL CWM for this tab, it is too old to flash a KitKat ROM. But there are newer unofficial versions that work just fine.
Update recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548476
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium HD app
I did it
I unrooted it, and then rooted it again with philz clockworkmod recovery
After that, it wanted to install slimkat build 8.0 (official) just fine (android 4.4.4) and it runs smooth!
Thanks for all the help!
