[Q] xsball prerooted 28b - LG Optimus 3D

quick question, does this have wkparks bootloader installed or has it been removed after the root was put in place? i REALLY want to root but other than that i want stock everything

Xbsalls prerooted is full stock rom with the root, with recovery on 2nd init and with original bootloaders. There is everything what you want. If you dont like it install rom from original stock kdz or bin files without root and recovery.

after that pick a rom and you will have root
First read, search, look up. Try searching "nvflash recovery"
If you are updated with gingerbread, and just want root.. Flash the clockworkmod with nvflash like they suggested, really easy steps for it.. Then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255214
[ROOT] G2X Gingerbread 2.3.3. stock ROM with flashable zip in Clockworkmod Recovery
And download the root and unroot zip files, the unroot just incase and then flash the recovery, flash the root zip. And you have yourself official gingerbread update with root. And not those buggy roms that are updated everytime

Questions about stock 4.0.4

Hi everyone. I want to update my galaxy tab 2 P3113 to official 4.0.4 . I have some questions. This rom can be rooted? If yes how to do this? Can i install CWM Recovery?
Geez, I have the same question... Guess we can´t use expresso_recovery method, better not to risk and wait for a solution anyway...

Im agree with you. Waiting is better
I used "expresso_recovery" but it did not work right. The tab just looped the boot image. It did install CWM and I used it to load stock image and then move to CM9 again. I want to run the OTA 4.0.4 stock image rooted, but I think we need help from the devs.
I updated yesterday to 4.0.4 flashed cwm through Odin and then installed root file through cwm same files I did for 4.0.3 and everything works fine. Actually even better cause when I flashed cwm on 4.0.3 I didn't have the Amin. in cwm that I do now.

I odin'd back to stock just to take the ota update. I re-rooted using the same method I used for 4.0.3, but managed to increment my custom flash count a few extra times...Reason is because of the /system/etc/install-recovery.sh script.
If that file exists on the factory firmware, and you have a custom recoery installed, it will overwrite your custom recovery with the stock recovery at every boot. The way around it is to check for the existance of that file and rename it or erase it, or, as in my case, I flashed TWRP and used it's built in file manager to mount /system and rename the file before I booted, once I realized why the recovery was reverted to stock.

Or pervert it for your own... uh... perversions. Most of the custom ROMs support an init.d function that lets you install scripts that start at run time. Tools like System Tuner can also put their stuff in init.d if you have it. The stock ROM (like most stock ROMs) does not have it. Using the install_recovery.sh file, you can add it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772616&highlight=init+d

[Q] Patching ICS .BIN fils with CWM

Is there a way to patch a ICS BIN file of the ROM with CWM?
s.t. lilke this in the past:[TOOL] LG-P970 ROM COVERTER Automatic converter from KDZ to BIN/FLS + ROOT
You could patch it but you will have to change bootladers to wkparks and patch it with signed cwm from dexter. I don't think it is worth of trouble it easier after flashing flash all of it via fastboot, and then flash SU via CWM.

i just wanted to make the "First ICS 4.0.4 Full 3D ROM Ported From SU760" with CWM in SU inside to be easy for me when i switch between ICS and GB (i have very unstable ICS on all basebands till I install over it another custom ROM). And i do this often.

[tool] [bootloaders] wkpark 1.25a and ICS [flashable zip] [adb installation]

Flashable zip
If you don't want to mess with fastboot i made this script for flashing Wkpark's bootloader from recovery. It is umodified wkpark's boot and all credits give to him, i just made script.
It is tested only on original non touch CWM recovery 6.0.1.9, but it should work on all cwm recovery.
Flashing loader is always dangerous, no matter is it done from kdz, bin, fastboot or with this zip and if you brick your phone i'm not responsible, you are doing this at your own risk.
Basically with this you can install/upgrade from GB to ICS 28B without connecting phone to PC:
1. Reboot recovery
2. install this zip: http://d-h.st/bqj (V30A) or this: http://d-h.st/x7t (v28B)
3. install bootloader from this thread
4. [optional] install root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903752
5. [optional] for better performance install iodak's kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069166
6. reboot and enjoy
If phone does not start pull out battery and try again.
Adb tools links and changelog.
Phone must be rooted before using adb tools.
02/04/2013 Added stock 30A bootloader
Link: http://d-h.st/aqV
19/03/2013 Added option for flashing original ics bootloader using ADB tools
It will flash gpt1, x-boot, u-boot and original recovery. It will not delete any data.
Original bootloader works only with stock kernel!!!
Link: http://d-h.st/Ci8
15/03/2013 Added installation script using ADB
It will work on any rooted device (GB, CM10, ICS28b).
Connect phone with adb enabled in settings. Unpack zip from this thread. Start runme.bat.
Choose 1 for flashing only loader
Choose 2 for flashing loader and recovery.

CM10
Sorry for the Dummy question, but i read a lot of topics where is said''install Wkpark bootloader to fix freezeing on Cm10(Camera,youtube etc.)
Well will this work on CM10? And also you are telling me that i can install this bootloader and then flash the Bin of v28B with smartflash and i will have a working ICS?will will this work with XBsall V7.1 zip
It will work on any rom, it is totally independent from rom. Of course, ported ics or rooted 28b can't work without this loader and this is not for this roms.
how to check if my bootloader is open? Or it is not important?
And Did you tried your method
CWM recovery or Stock recovery should be used?
After install the Boot125a.zip i will lost root right
Sorry for the stupid questions and spamming, but i really don't want to brick my device.
My device is Rooted(Is that a problem),21A ,Jellybam, also have flashed Bernies files

Tried on my device, doble checked cwm log before uploaded. You just need working cwm recovery and you can flash any rom after flashing loader: gb, cm10 and derivates, xsball v7...
You will not loose root and recovery.
Thanks a lot dude it worked.:highfive:
Holy jeez, this has been a great time saver! Works great, thanks mate

OK I'm on cm10 right now. I already have the 1.25 boot loader installed from fast boot. So really I can flash xbasalls v7 ROM right now and it should run? Correct? Or do I have to flash your zip with 1.25?
Never mind I understand now. I have to load the 28b update then the 1.25 boot loader.
One question though. what if the 28b bb does not work for me?

OK this worked. But when I loaded the 28b I had no service and it keep freezing and rebooting. Was able to restore back to cm10 with service. Is there something I missed to get service?

Did you wipe data/cache? Maybe is BB issue, i don't know which baseband works with 28b, most of them works.
Re: Wkpark's bootloader 1.25a flashable zip
Yes wiped all caches and data. I'm on v20p bb. Guess it does not work with 28b. Will try changing bb.

Does unrooting remove clockworkmod recovery?

I have unrooted my phone and i don't know does that remove clockworkmod recovery. I want to know does my phone have CWM recovery. If it has how to delete it (CWM voids warranty)?
ps. Is that true that rooting does not void yout warranty bu custom rom does?
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda app-developers app
AFAIK unrooting doesnt remove ur recovery.. It just remover superuser.apk su binary files.. If im not mistaken u can get stock recovery image to flash it .. So that u can get back a completely clean stock device
Root and installing custom rom onto ur device are voiding ur warranty
sent from my GT-i8150 cm10.1
Rooting voids your warranty. If you want to go completely to stock then flash a virgin stock rom for your device. These ROMs don't have anything done to them. If you can't find one those then just get a rooted stock ROM and use an unrooting tool. But remember you may have to reset the flash counter because that shows how many times you flashed a custom firmware on your device.
