Samsung Galaxy S4 ???

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Samsung Galaxy S3, however, I'm wondering what else Sammy has in store for us with the SGS4 soon to be announced. Anybody have any new updates on the SGS4 ???

Yeah apparently Samsung are focusing on software tweaks like eye scrolling (another gimmick for mugs)as oppose to hardware improvements. In another words more plastic and more profit for Samsung.
Previous S3 and Note 2 Lte owner I'm pretty sure I won't be parting with £500+ for plastic again.

next week we will know more... it will be revealed on march 14 on time square new york. Anyway, rumours about an octa-core processing unit and a cam with 13MP keep me scratching my fingernails on my table. Lets hope for the best!
When they will present s4 ?
octa-core is just gimmick....there are two processors in sgs4 both are quad core...the phone relies on first quad core with A7 architecture for light use like apps and multitasking...when u play games and use phone heavily it switches the load to A15 quad core processor....so this is also quad core device !!
Now that the GS4 has been unveiled, definitely worth the upgrade from my GS2 Skyrocket, but for anyone that has a GS3, aside from the screen/hardware upgrade and the few additional sensor functions, I don't really see a point in jumping on it (just my opinion) right away, at least not at first. I just know that I held out and didn't get the GS3 because I haven't felt limited by my Skyrocket, so I'm drooling and excited for this gadget pron beast to be turned out on the public. Now the big question comes down to price tag, is it gonna be worth it to be a "pioneer" with it or do I wait for my contract to be up and agree to be a slave again to the carrier?

Here is what I know so far.
GALAXY S4 is rumored to be released in May for Sinkies.
It will definitely be officially priced at $998, its standard for high-end phones here.
All telcos will definitely get. StinkTel, Laghub & MaiOne.
And it's definitely the I9505 without question
Re: [OFFICIAL] [DISCUSSION] Singapore Galaxy S4
What makes a thread "official"?
Anyway yeah I'm intending to get the s4 to upgrade from my s2.
The bundled data for LTE plans is horrible. I'm getting 12gb free a month now on my 3G plan.

Apparently Singapore will only be getting the snapdragon 600 version. I was kinda disappointed as I really wanted to try the Exynos octa. Do you guys think S600 is good enough to compare with the Exynos? I'm planning to get S4 around June. I really can't decide whether I should wait for something like Nexus 5 in July or just get s4. Advice?

you do know that exynos will have little support here do you? Actually in real world usage, the snapdragon version is on par with the exynos version.

I want to see battery life reports on Exynos octa before I decide. If the battery on I9500 beats I9505 by at least 25%, I'll be getting I9500.
And yes, I do know that I9500 will have less dev support but it'll still have plenty of ROMs and mods. At least, I hope so.

25% diff in battery life is too big on a same model of phone. Maybe 5-10% difference favoring the Exynos I think.

I really presumed that we are going to get I9505 since most Asian countries are getting I9500, sadly that's not the case. Here is a very interesting read by AndreiLux: Exynos Octa and why you need to stop the drama about the 8 cores. I'm seriously reconsidering not to buy S4 right now, probably at least till reliable benchmarks and battery test are being populated to determine how much they differ. But well, there is however the LTE factor that may change my mind. Below is a post quoted from GT-I9500 vs GT-I9505...Differences are huge! by SlimJ87D.
SlimJ87D said:
But again, I've bought into the whole LTE thing because again LTE is now EVERYWHERE I travel to and live. So when I'm surfing the web or tethering for my work laptop, I'll see a much larger increase in internet speeds than I do with the speeds that are similar to my i9300.
I believe my i9300 got around 4.5 mbps at it's best while my GF's SGH-i747 got around 17 mbps, this is in OC, CA USA. This is a HUGE difference.

So I just picked this up for $380, with very little chance to look it over thoroughly because we were in the rain. I don't think it's a note 2, please help.

The thing with this clones is that they usually comes in 3 flavors, they look the same (i.e. Note 2 clone) but have different specs, one is a single core (mtk 6575) with only 512mb RAM, one is a dual core (mtk6577) with a 1gb RAM and the other is what they call an S-Class clone or a Premium clone with a Quadcore (mtk 6589) with 1gb ram and with an IPS panel.
The single core and dual core variant usually comes with a "RIGGED" antutu benchmark installed (old version), I said rigged because when you look at the device info inside antutu it will say Quadcore, Amoled, 2gb RAM, 1280x720 and so on, Thats what the scammer usually shows the victim.. errr buyer.. They will even tell you its a clone BUT an almost exact copy of the original one in terms of performance.. Once you got home and started playing with, you'll notice its kinda slow for a quadcore... and when you install the LATEST Antutu (downloaded from play store) and look at the device info, you'll be shocked that it only has a single core with a 512mb ram with only qHD resolution only etc (everything low spec).

Download the latest Antutu benchmark from play store, install it then run it... At the bottom of the screen, press "info" then press "system info" for a detailed specs, the cpuinfo will tell you if its a single, dual or quad core... it just say ARMv7 at the cpuinfo, look at GPU renderer, if its say PowerVR 531 then its a Mediatek MT6575 single core, if its PowerVR 533 its a MT6577 dual core and if it says PowerVR 544, its a MT6589 quadcore..
I did download quadrant stabbed when I was able to get Wi-Fi, I'll post my findings

Comparison I9500 and i9505

Hi,
For those who are interested in knowing precisely the difference between the i9500 and the i9505, GSM arena made a very complete review of the differences:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4_i9500_vs_i9505-review-930p3.php
As it turns out... not very different only a few performance differences and the i9505 has a slightly better battery performance, and primarily required due to lack of production capacity of the Octa chip...
Enjoy !

What they miss to mention, and which is probably the most important point is that i9500 Octacore is unusable. I had it replaced 3 times and it still crashes on a regular basis. The 9505 is a completely different phone in comparison.

Since you are in XDA, the point is not, which of the 2 versions are more famous but which has better support. And so far we know, that Samsung doesnt help developers to its processors. Also, the ge is for snapdragon edition!
