Here is what I know so far.
GALAXY S4 is rumored to be released in May for Sinkies.
It will definitely be officially priced at $998, its standard for high-end phones here.
All telcos will definitely get. StinkTel, Laghub & MaiOne.
And it's definitely the I9505 without question
Re: [OFFICIAL] [DISCUSSION] Singapore Galaxy S4
What makes a thread "official"?
Anyway yeah I'm intending to get the s4 to upgrade from my s2.
The bundled data for LTE plans is horrible. I'm getting 12gb free a month now on my 3G plan.

Apparently Singapore will only be getting the snapdragon 600 version. I was kinda disappointed as I really wanted to try the Exynos octa. Do you guys think S600 is good enough to compare with the Exynos? I'm planning to get S4 around June. I really can't decide whether I should wait for something like Nexus 5 in July or just get s4. Advice?

25% diff in battery life is too big on a same model of phone. Maybe 5-10% difference favoring the Exynos I think.

I really presumed that we are going to get I9505 since most Asian countries are getting I9500, sadly that's not the case. Here is a very interesting read by AndreiLux: Exynos Octa and why you need to stop the drama about the 8 cores. I'm seriously reconsidering not to buy S4 right now, probably at least till reliable benchmarks and battery test are being populated to determine how much they differ. But well, there is however the LTE factor that may change my mind. Below is a post quoted from GT-I9500 vs GT-I9505...Differences are huge! by SlimJ87D.
SlimJ87D said:
But again, I've bought into the whole LTE thing because again LTE is now EVERYWHERE I travel to and live. So when I'm surfing the web or tethering for my work laptop, I'll see a much larger increase in internet speeds than I do with the speeds that are similar to my i9300.
I believe my i9300 got around 4.5 mbps at it's best while my GF's SGH-i747 got around 17 mbps, this is in OC, CA USA. This is a HUGE difference.

Sounds like the US model will be lte.. probably getting the dual core kraits like the One S/X Att model. I have the One S, the only advantage to me would be removable storage of the S3. I prefer smaller screens and the One S form factor is awesome. I think this year's releases from both HTC and Samsung look promising.
I guess the last point or question would be Touchwiz or Sense? I have always prefered Sense if It's not vanilla aosp.

That would make me jump ship, but I have seen multiple reports stating it will be dual core for T-mo because t-mo is more concerned with the high speed data.

Take the T-Mobile Galaxy S II for example. The original Exynos processor found in the international Galaxy S II wasn't compatible with the full speed 42mbps HSPA+ that T-Mobile has, so T-Mobile opted for a Snapdragon S3 instead.

S4 krait snapdragon is a15 which has 40% more per core performance than standard a9 in exynos. The gpu in the exynos is better. But the CPU is weaker. Performance will actually be the same now unlike last year Samsung galaxy s2 fiasco. All phones will have vsync on so you will be locked at 60 fps regardless of what processor you have. Development should be unpar with the exynos since the USA will have s4 and international exynos. A15 dual core has the performance slightly Better than quadcore a9. Regardless of benchmarks.

that's stupid. tmobile is changing their towers to include the 1900mhz spectrum, just buy the int'l version of the s3, problem solved. Cpu makes a big difference in how clear the screen is/photo quality. I had an Epic 4G Touch with Sprint (has the dual core Exynos) before coming to T-Mobile and it was a lot better than this phone in just about every way, the screen's colors were more vivid, there was less noise in photos, image quality was incredible, battery lasted longer, even images taken with the front facing camera were nicer, response times were faster. Cpu makes a big difference. Have fun with the iPhone, not that anyone cares about how Samsung disappointed you.

The difference was no one seems to get this Samsung actually optimized the software around exynos. The Samsung Galaxy S2 with qualcomm processor was ported software. Not as well optimized as the exynos. Samsung was in a rush to get the phone released in the states. Samsung knowing LTE is the big thing in the USA. Will optimize both phones equally now. Especially if the phones are being released so closely towards each other. Even the developers in the Samsung Galaxy s3 forum are saying that the 2 gig krait cpu is the better phone. A9 dual core to a9 quad core is not much of an improvement. Krait actually is and it keeps up with the best with less cores. Until true a15 cores come out.

If it's a snapdragon and an adreno 320 then it's already failed because there are loads of phones like that.
They surely wouldn't advertise the octa chip if it wasn't going in the GS4. However the A7 mixed with the A15 seems like a little bit of a cheat, I bet it uses the A7 95% of the time or the A15 cores are heavily throttled because it looks like they drain battery like mad, especially in a smart phone.

Hi,
For those who are interested in knowing precisely the difference between the i9500 and the i9505, GSM arena made a very complete review of the differences:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4_i9500_vs_i9505-review-930p3.php
As it turns out... not very different only a few performance differences and the i9505 has a slightly better battery performance, and primarily required due to lack of production capacity of the Octa chip...
Enjoy !

Guys I have a question regarding the last line of OP. It said the snapdragon variant was required due to production shortage of S4 Exynos. My question does that mean with the increase in Exynos version production the snapdragon variants will be produced less?

Since you are in XDA, the point is not, which of the 2 versions are more famous but which has better support. And so far we know, that Samsung doesnt help developers to its processors. Also, the ge is for snapdragon edition!

Hey guys, I wanted to compare the amount of people who have the I9500 Exynos Model to the amount of people who own the I9505 Snapdragon model to see which is more popular on xda.
1-------I9500
2-------I9505
im sure you can tell by comparing how many threads are in each sub forum. i would say i9505

Thats what im thinking and thats just sad...seriously samsung couldn't make one model noooo they had to make 500 thousand models.....now not everyone can try the same things on their phones and it would be more "fragmented"..
You don't need the poll, it's a known fact Samsung have manufacturered more I9505 devices than I9500s, and that will be reflected on this forum.

I dont think it wil bother anyone.....and im trying to compare it here on the xda because the device that is more popular will probably be the one with more roms, mods, tweaks, etc,
Yes just look here in the forums. The i9505 is much more popular and has a lot more ROMs and mods.

Thats just GREAT lol does anyone know how hard it is to port a rom especially between these two devices since they are similar cant the rome be made for both at the same time?
I own the i9505. I guess this model is more common in usa and europe where you have support of 4g. In the rest of the world i9500 is much more in use
i9500 is bit faster in processing but i will go for i9505
I have i9505 and its super stable!!! and better gaming

Qualcomm devices (be them Samsung or otherwise) outnumber Exynos by a large margin. Game compatibility is inevitably better as a result.

Both phones have completely different chipsets and the sources from samsung for exynos are crap.
Does anyone know if the 0/ folder bug was fixed in the latest cwm v1.0.0 version?
..
Obviously the device with LTE wins no matter what chipset. Carriers seems to want it why shouldn't you? Like you have a choice
