I also had this problem but after about 2 hours i managed to update my phone: here how i did the update:
Just connect to internet then immediately disconnect from internet within 1 or 1.5 seconds the program just needs to confirm that there is an established connection, i used this (my own) trick and I successfully updated my LO3D froyo to GB using kdz
Keep in mind that you need to connect to internet only for 1 second then DISCONNECT internet
Good luck

Power off the phone and press Power + VOL Down + 3D as you usually would to get into recovery. From there you follow the steps to factory reset your device.

I was running GB rooted. No custom ROM just rooted.
I saw the update, so I wanted to start fresh. I reset the phone, installed the update (lost root, as expected), went to apply root with Megatron Root Exploit, and it would not allow me to obtain root. Kept getting an error about directory not found. Don't recall the exact error.
I am currently running the ICS update with no issues, but would like to be rooted as I am missing a few apps that require root.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am still a bit of a noob. I have only rooted once.
It appears form the link you posted that this is installing a custom rom. That is not what I am looking to do. Previously I was running GB, stock, just rooted to be able to freeze some apps and use a few apps that required root. That is all that I am looking to do at this point too.
ICS is loaded and running fine. Is there a way to get root back with out flashing and installing custom roms? or is this something that the hasn't been figured out yet?
Thanks again for your time and patience with me

so what rom you are on? ICS or GB?
if you are on ICS
than only follow the Root steps there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191698&highlight=baseband
How to root:
1. Download Su_Bbox_1.20.2_gazhead_signed.zip and save it somewhere in your SD card
2. Use OS_Hacking's tool to install Wkpark's v1.25a bootloader (read his instructions and install OMAP driver first). After this step, your boot-up LG logo will be silver!
3. With the same tool install a GB recovery. (ICS recoveries are only for xbsall's ported SU760 ROM, they can't read your internal SD)
4. Boot into recovery
5. Flash the zip from step (1) and reboot
Root?

Hi,
I tried doing the Oneclick root with my Epic that is running 2.1 Eclair. When I installed Titanium and busybox it said phone is rooted. BUT when I start the phone in Manual mode to install update it only has 4 options:
Reboot
Install update
Wipe data
Wipe Cache
When I scroll down and select Install update it starts the process and then says e.signature verification failed update aborted. Is there something I am not doing right? I tried to unroot and reroot the phone but still get the same thing.
When I try the Root process with Oneclick Software for Samsung Galaxy One Click root it says the phone will restart and to select reinstall packages but I do not have that option. It still has the options shown above.
I know when I did my Hero and Evo I could get root and install Roms with no problems.
Can someone help please.
From reading you just need to install clockwork and then install roms and stuff. The kernels include a root, so install clockwork and install the rom I have in my signature. It already includes a kernel so that helps by one less thing you have to do. The one in my signature I have had no issues at all.
I installed rom manager (which is clockwork, right?) and tried to install a rom that way but when it reboots it goes to the same screen and gives the same message.

How are you rebooting into recovery? It sounds like you're hitting the stock recovery. Shut the phone down entirely and hold Vol -, Camera, and power. Keep holding until after the Samsung logo goes away.
Does this bring you more options?
If you still get nothing, try this instead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=808103
Nope.... Same options. I will read the link you provided.
Also, Busybox says that my phone is rooted then I click install and it says I do not have nand unlocked. Maybe this is the problem?

I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure getting nand-unlocked is a part of the rooting process. Perhaps the root didn't work entirely for you, I had a lot of problems using the 1 click root with my first epic because of timing, I had to open the batch file and replace the ping 127etc (the delays) with a pause command because the phone took too long to respond and the second half of the rooting process would fail. Try the link I posted, it worked out well on my first phone.
Thanks....So far I have removed the Oneclick root from it and now it says the phone is not rooted. My next step is to root again... Hope it works.
Worked great! Thank you!!!

Hi,
Im trying to root my G2X using superoneclick but everytime it reaches step#6 the program says not responding and it just locks up. Has anyone had this issue and knows how to resolve it? Im running the G2X with the gingerbread update and the latest superoneclick which I beleive is 2.1. I unmounted the SD card and I have the USB debugging checked.
Anyone?
Thanks
Superoneclick does not work on gb update, nvflash custom recovery, then just flash any rom you want.
Look in dev section on how to nvflash custom recovery.
Start here http://tinyurl.com/3ejyxct
Dude u people need to do a little research wtf man u probably been at this for days all u have to do is flash recovery with nvflash use tga gunman's guide its a one click tool like the tool we use for root its one button done, then u just flash xboarders rom or cm or even restore a backup if u have one anything with root will give u root privileges, I myself updated with LG updater tool (I just wanted baseband) I then flashed recovery, then restored my cm nightly backup, still had new baseband and was rooted again

As ancient as this thread may be, I thought I would comment in case it comes up in a Google search (as it did for me).
As it was going through step #6, the common freeze point, I simply disconnected and toggled USB debugging to work it through each phase. It went to step #7, repeated, then left it to install busybox, superuser, and so forth.

As far as I know the exploits are blocked for security reasons so they never get root access. Without temporary root super one click cannot install the programs needed to make root permanent. If this is a work around that would be a new development.

doesnt matter what device people use. ultimately, stock GB freezes at step 6. can anyone can validate the steps above, "to unplug the cable and toggle usb debugging" works or not?
if the only way is to flash the device, then there is no Rooting tool available yet for GB stock devices.

If the device has an alternate recovery (doesn't matter which one) you can use by G2X root zip to root it. It will work on any GB device that has an alternate recovery.

You can't superoneclick root 2.3.3 only 2.2. You have to flash CWM recovery then install a root zip or pre rooted ROM. All can be found in the Dev forum.

So, long story short i was successfully installed ICS from xbsall. This is the link:

But because some bugs, i wanted to switch back to gingerbread. and i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
I had downloaded all necessary files. But in step 1, it's recommended for p920 user to ready the ap file.
Well, all i do is flash cp & ap.:silly: after that, i can't boot my phone. I doesn't even show the lg logo.
please someone can help me?
Did you do the extra steps for P920 users (Rebooter) ??

Simlar thing happened to me, I had it to the point where I did have the flash screen, but now I don't get anything. It does still read and comes up as a flash device which is weird, I have a computer at work that has all the tools I need on it which I am going to try when I go back after the new years.
There was a recommendation in the thread I asked about the same thing, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071036

Your phone can't boot without them . You MUST do that step and it's too easy .
every one flashed ICS before MUST do that step in order to downgrade into GB .

It didn't work i'm afraid. What's really odd is that the phone is on froyo 2.2.2 and the OTA update from the phone says there's no update available. Yet the lg update tool tells me an update is available yet after it has downloaded and about to 'install' it stops and says that the update cannot continue because a 'fatal error' has occured ?
Very odd. I'm guessing the orange bloatware is the problem. I HATE orange !
Edit. Ok, i just installed all the flashing tools to my pc (win 7) But when i open flash tool a window appears saying 'lg usb/parallel key is not detected. i'm also asked for a password and id ?

I've now tried all methods and nothing works. The furthest i have got so is to hit the yellow start button on the flash tool, but the port does not become ready. I have followed all instructions to the letter.
Recheck step 1 details carefully. Be sure antivirus and Defender are off when downloading and decompressing. It won't start until drivers are installed correctly.
You should see the devices in device manager with no 'blinking' of the omap device, and LG CDMA USB SERIAL, on which you change the port number to 41. Then you are ready to flash.
That part is fiddly.
well to keep it simple i cant access the official rom link may be country issue. so i found a 4shared link http://www.4shared.com/file/x-jB9Qd-/. so can i use this rom to keep the 3d feature and get 100% support for apps? using the upgrade method like this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236&highlight=ics?

all stuff done, perfect =)
make a backup from your phone and reflash it with lg flash tool. But you have to switch the port to 41 in the Modem Device under the device manager

hey just found a trick i used against ipods. i put the ipsw in the temp folder that itunes stores the downloaded file when we simply hit restore. so in the LG i am thinking to manually download the ics v30b file and put it there, so that it instantly jump to upgrading the OS to ics. what's my odd of losing it all!?

Merhaba! and hey most people tend to fail to flash this stuff correctly and the worst part is losing the imei which needs 'sl-box' to fix which is way unavailable to me.

Try flash by lg flash tool
if you lose you IMEI .....
Restoring IMEI
1.Connect phone by USB
2.Activate USB debug mode
3.Enter 3845#*920# in dialer if that doesn’t work try 3845#*925# or 3845#*720# if device is SU760
4.Select Port Settings -> Select CP USB
5.A new device should appear at let it install
6.Open Tutty and select serial protocol. Click on open
7.Type AT if response is not OK, change port number (it is possible that when typing you don’t see any letters)
8.Type at%imei, it should display a dummy IMEI
9.Type at%imei=x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x where x,x,x... is your orginal IMEI number (found under the battery of your phone). It should response IMEI WRITE OK
10. change Port Settings ->form CP USB TO AP USB
11. reboot your device

Happiest Day of My Life!
I just followed the Update method, and succesfully upgraded to ICS without losing anything even the wallpaper didnt change. network fine wifi fine faster boot times and cool boot animation. still testing but slower! though i got used to that with Galaxy S duos. thanks for the rom Master. well i couldnt use the notification center in vertical mode and the ics didnt cured that. well am happy! i can now install every single app i want, yippy!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

soon, am sorry but am kinda busy. i will list every thing i did!
How did I DID IT!
well at first the lg mobile support tool couldnt recognize my phone, may be because i live in 'unknown' country. so i manually downloaded every driver known to be made for this phone and installed them. when i opened the tool again it recognized it and told me i have to update the drivers i did. so i had the latest drivers for the phone. i downloaded the 'offline installer download' link from the xda link i posted earlier and downloaded v30b from the link i got from MasterTobi. i ticked USB Debugging and connected to pc, then i started the vbs script it did all the modifications i needed then i followed the instruction then viola! android upgraded. i was shocked when the phone lit up on 90% but completed with no errors. Check This
Hi all first i had GB 2.3 prometheus running but apps on my SU760 were not working well probably because prometheus is P920 port.
So i used LG smart flash tool and flashed froyo 2.2 V10 and then upgraded to 2.3.5 GB using LG support tool all is good until now.
Wait !!!!!
-------------
So now i try to upgrade to ICS using LG support tool my phone is detected by the tool but all of a sudden i get a pop up phone not connected properly, so i run LG support tool as SP3 and run as administrator, still no luck !!!
I then extracted V30b KDZ which is ICS 4.0.4 to bin and fls and used LG smart flash tool to flash directly with ICS but the download mode keeps on dropping out hence i cannot flash the SU760 all the wat to 100% with ICS.
I have now been trying to get ICS on my phone for last 48 hours but no luck.
My Question is:-
1) Is it really worth upgrading SU760 to ICS because i had ICS earlier this year and my phone started to crawl and really slow.
2)Is there a way to get ICS on my phone apart from LG support tool and LG smart flasher and offline flashing is not working for me.
3)Even if i do manage to get ICS then is the ICS rom 4.0.4 by xbsall http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963847 ported from experia fast enough on SU760 ?
Thanks in advance,
Suhail
