[Q] I bricked my phone... need help please... - LG Optimus 3D

So, long story short i was successfully installed ICS from xbsall. This is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347
But because some bugs, i wanted to switch back to gingerbread. and i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
I had downloaded all necessary files. But in step 1, it's recommended for p920 user to ready the ap file.
Well, all i do is flash cp & ap.:silly: after that, i can't boot my phone. I doesn't even show the lg logo.
please someone can help me?

Did you do the extra steps for P920 users (Rebooter) ??
Sent From My P920 (ICS ported)
Try Use THANKS Button If I Helped

Simlar thing happened to me, I had it to the point where I did have the flash screen, but now I don't get anything. It does still read and comes up as a flash device which is weird, I have a computer at work that has all the tools I need on it which I am going to try when I go back after the new years.
There was a recommendation in the thread I asked about the same thing, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071036
try it out and let me know. The only thing I haven't tried is the fastboot method, let m eknow if this works for you!

I did it today and the fastboot method worked like a charm, let me know if you need help with this ressurection

Your phone can't boot without them . You MUST do that step and it's too easy .
every one flashed ICS before MUST do that step in order to downgrade into GB .
Good Luck

One thing to add, try not flashing the CP file, I think that is what bricked me the first time around.

if i'm not wrong, you can only install omap when your phone detected (for sometimes) by a pc. But, my pc only detects my phone for only 3-4 secs.

CWM only option is optimus 2x

Hey guys, when i try to install recovery the only device option that comes out is 'optimus 2x'. Whenever I try install this it bricks my phone and I have to reflash the kdz file. In the beginning before i flashed gingerbread, the 'optimus 3d' option was available, but now only the 2x is offered. Anyone have experience/solutions to this? Really want to flash thiazrom
It's a bug in the ROM Manager. Use 4.8.0.7 or the newest 5.0.0.6 that should work too (at least it did for me)
Use old version of Rom Manager

Go into download mode by holding Vol+ Button and connecting to the PC. When you have sound on you should hear that windows sound when plugging in a new device. Then release the button, the screen of the phone will stay black. Windows should discover a new device and install drivers (needs the LG Drivers)
Then you can use the emergency mode from the LG Mobile Support Tool to reflash with official Firmware.
That's what I did. The LG Tool installed V21A (because I have a european device), so I was able to root again.
I don't know what kind of device you have, but before flashing the official Firmware you should know what the latest version would be or you could lose the ability to root.
Thanks, on older version of cwm work flawlessly
And I can assure you Orlox, that the Zwoggel's method works, becouse i had the same situation. Thanks guys

hey man this is what i did to unrbick it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
pretty much flash a new kdz file and it should be unbricked.
I ended up flashing an older version of cwm, 5.x.x or something, u can find this option at the bottom of the cwm menu

I had this no connect to pc issue. It was a usb charge cable, not data. Also you must uninstall drivers and install them in fastboot process.

my friend...
this is solution ! after doing these two processes in this sequence.
follow first topic to step 16 !!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
and after follow this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2037287
orientation very important !
PS: 1- if you do not install the drive OMAP in the start, nothing is going to work!
2 - use the wpark V1.18.z for access fastboot! follow all steps at fastboot, and final not close and execute "cd c:\user\alanhenrique\desktop\berni files\"(this is my directory at berni files, navigate through DOS within the fastboot to the directory where the files have the berni you downloaded) and now flash the berni files following berni orientation !
after doing these two processes in this sequence. flash stock rom you want. make root, in between recovery and install the CM10 or JellyBam and will work right! I did this yesterday and it's all right now!
you'll know it worked if your logo LG appears before start the CM10 animation when you start the fone!
problems? read and read more and retry again!
this works fine !
problems yet? tell me!
sorry my english.

I also had this problem but after about 2 hours i managed to update my phone: here how i did the update:
Just connect to internet then immediately disconnect from internet within 1 or 1.5 seconds the program just needs to confirm that there is an established connection, i used this (my own) trick and I successfully updated my LO3D froyo to GB using kdz
Keep in mind that you need to connect to internet only for 1 second then DISCONNECT internet
Good luck

Power off the phone and press Power + VOL Down + 3D as you usually would to get into recovery. From there you follow the steps to factory reset your device.

I was running GB rooted. No custom ROM just rooted.
I saw the update, so I wanted to start fresh. I reset the phone, installed the update (lost root, as expected), went to apply root with Megatron Root Exploit, and it would not allow me to obtain root. Kept getting an error about directory not found. Don't recall the exact error.
I am currently running the ICS update with no issues, but would like to be rooted as I am missing a few apps that require root.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am still a bit of a noob. I have only rooted once.
It appears form the link you posted that this is installing a custom rom. That is not what I am looking to do. Previously I was running GB, stock, just rooted to be able to freeze some apps and use a few apps that required root. That is all that I am looking to do at this point too.
ICS is loaded and running fine. Is there a way to get root back with out flashing and installing custom roms? or is this something that the hasn't been figured out yet?
Thanks again for your time and patience with me

so what rom you are on? ICS or GB?
if you are on ICS
than only follow the Root steps there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191698&highlight=baseband
How to root:
1. Download Su_Bbox_1.20.2_gazhead_signed.zip and save it somewhere in your SD card
2. Use OS_Hacking's tool to install Wkpark's v1.25a bootloader (read his instructions and install OMAP driver first). After this step, your boot-up LG logo will be silver!
3. With the same tool install a GB recovery. (ICS recoveries are only for xbsall's ported SU760 ROM, they can't read your internal SD)
4. Boot into recovery
5. Flash the zip from step (1) and reboot
Root?

Not needed to reflash whole ROM. Just flash the bootloader via flashtool to the recovery partition and you will forceboot your phone to Android.

For omap4430 and LG drivers, do part 1 here (you should be logged onto your pc as administrator if you are not already).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
Be sure to uninstall all LG stuff and reboot your computer before beginning, and temporarily disable antivirus software when extracting files.
After that, your pc will be set up to use Fastboot to install a bootloader, reflash the phone, or whatever you wish (flashing firmware will write bootloader, but it will also write everything else).

Just try to relax and take it slow, one little bit at a time, and don't get mad. That will just make things worse like wiping your system for no reason. There is no rush; zipping through the details will probably result in something important missed or misunderstood. Driver install has always been the same, even when all we had was Fastboot and ICS ported from the Korean device. It has worked for many thousands of people before you and you have done nothing to your phone, that I have read, that could cause damage that cannot be fixed (hey, maybe I missed something, but as near as I see, it can be restored). Unless you have hardware failure, which sounds unlikely at this point, all I can say is try to relax and start over. The directions have been tested and refined many times over and are just about as complete and detailed as you will find.
And you can thank LG for driver install being as fiddly as it is for this particular device :banghead:

damn you don't need lg service for something so simple... if all else failed just flash a full .kdz rom, your phone will return to 100% stock and will boot fine [i use this for .kdz flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22189294 ]. Or like lzzar said try the recovery bootloop breaker too:

well to keep it simple i cant access the official rom link may be country issue. so i found a 4shared link http://www.4shared.com/file/x-jB9Qd-/. so can i use this rom to keep the 3d feature and get 100% support for apps? using the upgrade method like this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236&highlight=ics?

all stuff done, perfect =)
make a backup from your phone and reflash it with lg flash tool. But you have to switch the port to 41 in the Modem Device under the device manager

hey just found a trick i used against ipods. i put the ipsw in the temp folder that itunes stores the downloaded file when we simply hit restore. so in the LG i am thinking to manually download the ics v30b file and put it there, so that it instantly jump to upgrading the OS to ics. what's my odd of losing it all!?

Merhaba! and hey most people tend to fail to flash this stuff correctly and the worst part is losing the imei which needs 'sl-box' to fix which is way unavailable to me.

Try flash by lg flash tool
if you lose you IMEI .....
Restoring IMEI
1.Connect phone by USB
2.Activate USB debug mode
3.Enter 3845#*920# in dialer if that doesn’t work try 3845#*925# or 3845#*720# if device is SU760
4.Select Port Settings -> Select CP USB
5.A new device should appear at let it install
6.Open Tutty and select serial protocol. Click on open
7.Type AT if response is not OK, change port number (it is possible that when typing you don’t see any letters)
8.Type at%imei, it should display a dummy IMEI
9.Type at%imei=x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x where x,x,x... is your orginal IMEI number (found under the battery of your phone). It should response IMEI WRITE OK
10. change Port Settings ->form CP USB TO AP USB
11. reboot your device

just to remind you i have installed every single latest driver and downloaded every flasher, lg flash tool, kdz offline upgrader ,smart flash , installed omap driver, successfully tried to get in s/w mode. tell me sth to relax me go on with the upgrade! am currently downloading v30b, v20f and the resurrection 10a!
[edit] yeah i needed to tick usb debugging and connect it to pc then type the code.
Happiest Day of My Life!
I just followed the Update method, and succesfully upgraded to ICS without losing anything even the wallpaper didnt change. network fine wifi fine faster boot times and cool boot animation. still testing but slower! though i got used to that with Galaxy S duos. thanks for the rom Master. well i couldnt use the notification center in vertical mode and the ics didnt cured that. well am happy! i can now install every single app i want, yippy!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

soon, am sorry but am kinda busy. i will list every thing i did!
How did I DID IT!
well at first the lg mobile support tool couldnt recognize my phone, may be because i live in 'unknown' country. so i manually downloaded every driver known to be made for this phone and installed them. when i opened the tool again it recognized it and told me i have to update the drivers i did. so i had the latest drivers for the phone. i downloaded the 'offline installer download' link from the xda link i posted earlier and downloaded v30b from the link i got from MasterTobi. i ticked USB Debugging and connected to pc, then i started the vbs script it did all the modifications i needed then i followed the instruction then viola! android upgraded. i was shocked when the phone lit up on 90% but completed with no errors. Check This
Hi all first i had GB 2.3 prometheus running but apps on my SU760 were not working well probably because prometheus is P920 port.
So i used LG smart flash tool and flashed froyo 2.2 V10 and then upgraded to 2.3.5 GB using LG support tool all is good until now.
Wait !!!!!
-------------
So now i try to upgrade to ICS using LG support tool my phone is detected by the tool but all of a sudden i get a pop up phone not connected properly, so i run LG support tool as SP3 and run as administrator, still no luck !!!
I then extracted V30b KDZ which is ICS 4.0.4 to bin and fls and used LG smart flash tool to flash directly with ICS but the download mode keeps on dropping out hence i cannot flash the SU760 all the wat to 100% with ICS.
I have now been trying to get ICS on my phone for last 48 hours but no luck.
My Question is:-
1) Is it really worth upgrading SU760 to ICS because i had ICS earlier this year and my phone started to crawl and really slow.
2)Is there a way to get ICS on my phone apart from LG support tool and LG smart flasher and offline flashing is not working for me.
3)Even if i do manage to get ICS then is the ICS rom 4.0.4 by xbsall http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963847 ported from experia fast enough on SU760 ?
Thanks in advance,
Suhail
