Pushing Wallpapers to HTC Wallpapers Location? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I'm trying to push some wallpapers I like so that they show up under HTC Wallpapers cause the phone crops em right. I tried manual pushing them to /system/customize/resource and that is not working. Do any permissions have to be set or is there something else I'm doing that's not correct?
Thanks!

If you have photo shop you can make the images 1280 X1440 then save as png and put them in your pictures/screen shots folder. They should fit the crop tool.

What I did was use 7 zip to edit a new Rom zip... Then navigate to the HTC wallpapers, replace one with a walpaper of mine that was named exactly the same, save it, and then you have to do a full Rom reinstall.

custom wallpaper problem

I am making some custom wallpapers for my Incredible, and am running into a few problems.
I am using photoshop and saving my pictures as JPEGs. They are 960x800 px.
They pretty big files, usually 1.5meg.
When I put the pictures on my sdcard, and I go to change the wallpaper, I go to gallery, then find the picture I have put on, and when I select the picture, it acts like it goes to the resize portion of the process, but then it just goes back to the gallery.
I have also tried loading the wallpaper straight through ASTRO file manager, with no luck either.
I'm sure I am missing something terribly simple, but I can't find it online.
Any help would be great. Thanks
There is an attachment of one of the images.
The problem is that we are 480x800

i dont think thats the problem. i cant even view the photo in gallery right. is there a limit to the size of the jpg?
The image that uploaded to the website is only 92.3kb. Just downloaded it and set it as a wallpaper no problem
1.5mb for a 960x800 image is HUGE.
I just played around with it for a bit and I think I figured out what your doing. Is your image properties set to cmyk (32bit)? That would explain why your file size is so big. Change it to rgb (24 bit). I'm thinking the android platform doesn't play to nicely with cmyk files.
I'm going to upload my cmyk file and see if this website automatically converted it to rgb on upload, which is what im thinking happened to your upload here.
Edit: yep that's exactly it. The website converted it, the attachment that was uploaded was 1.2mb and I just downloaded it; 94.3kb.
Awesome thanks for your help. I will switch it to rgb when I get home and try it out and report back

Yup this fixed my problem. Thank you for your help and time

i highly recommend using wallpaper set & save instead of the stock wallpaper chooser.

HTC Hub wallpaper storage location

I've been running a stripped down sense rom for awhile and have no desire to ever go back, however I do love some of the wallpapers from the HTC hub. I've searched and searched, but can't find the storage location for the wallpapers after you download them?
I want to delete the hub altogether, especially since it is Sense dependant, but want to keep the pictures..

Hello,
The pictures are store on your /sdcard/downloads/wallpaper. They are encrypted. I used a program like picsay to open them, then saved them somewhere else on my sdcard.

would you mind downloading a picture called "Peaquin Music Vortex" or something similar. i really like that wallpaper, really miss it. i had it on my Desire Z, and it would just be ace if i could have it on my One S. thanks in advance
Downloaded files at /sdcard/downloads/wallpaper are NOT encrypted. Just rename them with JPG file extension and open or move to any directory.

Live wallpaper from gallery folder

How can I make a folder in gallery to select for slideshow live wallpaper? I've tried creating a folder in dim and there isn't an option to create folder in gallery...any help I would greatly apriciate!

I believe the gallery app scans for images and video files and assigns them gallery names by folder name. Try creating a folder at
/sdcard/. You also might have to have your device rescan for media if you're moving files around on the phone itself.

Clock Widget

Hi guys
Does anyone know what clock widget this is?
Wow that looks amazing. I hope somebody for somebody to know the answer

Its probably from the Xoom2....
Hope someone can extract it for us
It is one of the Motorola clock widgets in the xyboard factory OS.
Here is the apk for the widget. I don't know if there are other apps needed for it to work or not, but you can try it.

It didn't installed for me (Xoom CyanogenMod 9). It opens the install dialog and then says "Application not installed"

It probably needs the odex file also, but I haven't spent the time to learn how to combine them. I will post it in a couple of minutes if someone can deodex the files it might make it installable.

That would be cool?
What program will you use fot it?
The original widget is on the left (came stock on my xyboard)
My moto skinned version of the miui-animated clock widget is on the right.
It's a bit smaller due to the size of the miui clock widget, but I tried to make it as authentic looking as possible.
the steps I went through were roughly done in this order:
1. open the original apk with 7-zip and extract the folders.
2. opened the images for the clock background and hands
3. cut as much as I could out of them and reformatted them to fit the miui clock widget images corresponding with the appropriate object as well as doing a lot of image editing to get them back into stock moto clock looking shape. I could only use the clock face and hands. I had to recreate some of the shading and the glass outer ring.
4 Opened a copy of the base miui clock widget and deleted the corresponding images
5 added the new images to the apk
6 resigned the apk
after this I installed it and added the "animated anilog clock" widget to my homescreen and resized.

PNG renaming

Hey guys, I hope someone here can help with this. I'm running Viper 3.1.0 and I've installed the Google JFK icon pack, which I love. However, the camera and music icon do not change when I apply the icon set. I know there is a way to go into the apk or system, and rename something so that the icon will apply, I am just unsure of what to rename, and to what. Thank for any help!
Sent from my HTC One XL
Editing the icon apk is not an easy process so here is the quickest way to fix your problem.
I'm assuming you are using Apex or Nova Launcher.
Download Icons attached to your sd card
Long press the Icon you wish to change
Select Edit
Tap the icon image in the pop up
Tap select picture (Apex) gallery (nova)
Navigate to the image you downloaded to your sd card
Select it
Done
I'm actually using the stock sense launcher, Rosie. That's one of the few features I wish Viper had that it doesn't, it the ability to further customize individual icons.

I don't know what im talking about, but wouldn't you have to decompile the APK, replace the icon png, and then recompile for each application?

Technically speaking, yes. But I have just renamed the .apk to .zip and edited stuff, then changed it back to .apk.. And it worked. Lol
