I updated to newest CWM via Rom Manager. Went into recovery to make a back up and try a new mod to flash. After installing I hit reboot system now and it goes right back into recovery. I even pulled battery then hit power button and it takes me right back into recovery. I also restored a back up and still the same thing. Should I try to go back to the older version of recovery? Any help would be appreciated!
Now when its off and I plug it in it doesnt charge or anything it just vibrates over and over
same thing here/
you have a zip file of the older cwm version?

Here's how you get it to boot... boot up into odin mode and select cancel.
At the same time I noticed I cannot mount external sd either :/
I found these. one has an IMG file the other is a zip

i just ran into the exact same issue as the OP. i pulled the battery, booted into DL mode, volume- (Cancel), and it booted up into my ROM. i wonder if CWM is the issue?
Yes the new update must have something to do with it.
same thing happened to me today. I keep an older copy on my laptop though and just reverted to an older version using odin.
Same happened here. Was mega pissed until I found the odin fix.
What's weirder is I factory reset, formatted everything but the kitchen sink, and upon the reboot after odin, all user data was intact.
looks like this CWM update is messed up, reverting.
CMW 6.0.2.9 is broken, I think. I'm stuck in CWM reboot.
Rom Manager pulled it. If u need to revert back .8 is listed as latest. You can go back thru there.
Yep, reverted to 6.0.2.8 and restored from my Nandroid. Whew!
And yes, I used the boot to Odin and select Cancel method to get out of Recovery bootloop.
Same here. Updated to 6.0.2.9 and got stuck in recovery mode. The only way out was go to ODIN and cancel. This was bad update from clockwork team

OK, so I was in the process of trying to flash Infused V2 beta 3, and just downloaded the 3e recovery and put it in system/bin and rebooted and all was good, was trying to install CWM from ROM Manager. ROM Manager said it sucessfully installed CWM 2.5.0.1 or whatever the latest version is. I decided to try to reboot into recovery from within ROM Manager and now I'm stuck at the Samsung logo. What do I do?

hold the three button combo till it reboots and let go when you see samsung. (power and both volumes)
if that doesnt get you into recovery(3e blue recovery once here you reinstall packages twice) then hold three buttons again but let go when the screen goes black. if the phone doesnt boot it is in a semi brick situation . likely a premission problem or a corrupt recovery file.
odin may be needed to flash the phone.
a voodoo kernel like "defuse" may fix it as it will redirect the phone to cwm recovery not 3e (get the .tar file not the .zip file) it will do a voodoo conversion you will hear robot voices and it may take 10min so dont jump to conclusions.
if the kernel doesnt work then flash the unbrick package.
Well I just used odin to get me back. Thanks.
Ok now I have another problem. I just noticed that every time I reboot the phone, Handcent SMS basically reinstalls itself or something. Any setting or theme changes I make don't stick when rebooted. Any ideas? Man I'm angry. All I want is to flash Infused V2 Beta 3!
EDIT: and Tango does the same thing. I'm sure others will do it too, just havent reinstalled everything yet
ttttthhhhhiiisssss ssssssssuuuuuuuuuuxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
FYI, I'm trying a factory reset right now
Factory reset got me back to... well... factory unfortunately
After flashing the latest ROM I was messing around with (WajkIUI 2.1.6) the phone would crash and reboot within 30 seconds of booting up. The previous ROM that was running was FAUXMIUI_RG2xV2.0.0 (01/08/2011 [v2.0.0]OVERCLOCK) that was stable except for when I’d turn wi-fi on after being off for 8 hours or so phone would reboot.
I figured I would boot into ClockworkMod Recovery and restore one of the nandroid backups, I tried booting into recovery I found out that I could not. When I hold the volume down and press the power button I see the screen that says software update (like when flashing with OneClickRecoveryFlasher).
Whenever I flash a new ROM I will Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and then wipe dalvik before installing zip. I’ve always run cyanogenmod nighties; FAUXMIUI_RG2xV2.0.0 was the first MIUI ROM I’ve used.
When I run OneClickRecoveryFlasher, I do not see any errors on the command prompt so I am assuming it was successful, or at least thinks it was.
I tried to Restore LG G2x Stock Recovery using OneClickRecoveryFlasher and then flashing v5.0.2.0 and still no ClockworkMod Recovery, also tried v4.0.1.5 and still no ClockworkMod Recover.
I then tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644 and with that I was able to get back to stock 2.3.3, tried to use OneClickRecoveryFlasher to flash ClockworkMod, still no go.
I tried LG Mobile Update and that proceeded to install something, not really sure what the update was, after the update finished, phone rebooted into stock 2.3.3. Shut the phone down and tried to flash ClockworkMod and still nothing.
I did a hard reset following http://mobilephonerepairguides.blogspot.com/2011/04/lg-g2x-hard-reset.html
I also tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183168, that got me to stock 2.3.3 but I still could not boot in to ClockwordMod Recovery.
I’m having a hell of a time wrapping my head around what I screwed up. Did I somehow destroy the recovery partition, is that possible? Any ideas what I broke and how to fix it? Can I used adb to view the partition table, would that tell me if something was corrupt?
Any help and ideas would be appreciated, I have tried doing my due diligence and I apologize if I missed something obvious.
Thanks,
-Matt
Faux never made a miui
Did you nvflashed recovery? If no then do that first.
NVIDIA NEVER AGAIN!
If you did the LG Updater it returned your phone to stock everything, including recovery. You need to use NVFlash (One Click method okay) to reflash CWM and then you should be good to go.
When the phone is completely off, hold volume down, then hold the power button and don't let go of both until the second lg logo.
If you hold volume down too early it'll give you the software update screen.
Well that's embarrassing, thanks buru898 that did the trick and got me into CWM Recovery. I never remember holding the power button for that long but it worked and I'll remember that for next time.
Thanks

Hey,
I've recently had a friend of mine give me his phone to look at.
It's a Samsung I5801
I tried installing numerous ROM's onto this such as stock froyo and kyrillos 9.
Whenever i install through Odin i get to the stage where the data needs to be wiped through clockwork. Pretty straight forward, however when the phone is rebooted after this Odin does not detect the phone and will boot into recovery again.
Any ideas? I'm not much of a samsung kinda guy woking with htc all my life lol.
Solved.
Flashing a stock ROM, with bootloader in tact did the job. Had to say was sweating a bit as many were saying it could hard brick phone... Used European JPA.
Flash through ODIN i pray to god no one else has this problem
Wipe using Recovery
Just go in recovery mode and Wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache.
Problem solved........
I have hard bricked my galaxy 3
I installed ClockworkMod recovery and selected to install ROM from SD card
my phone restarted and booted in samsung,s recovery mode
I selected wipe data and nothing happened for next in 2-3 mins,
So I removed battery and rebooted phone which again booted in samsung,s recovery mode for number of trials.
Then I renamed Rom Filr name to update.zip and moved it to root of SD
and rebooted in recovery and selected option Install update.zip which after some time started executing.
Phone rebooted and now it doesn't show anything else than samsung boot logo.
please help me out.

I can't get into CWM either. It just keeps rebooting and getting stuck on the boot screen.
For getting back to CWM, pull the battery (USB unplugged) so it turns off fully, put the battery back in, hold the volume up and down both on the left, and turn it on (hold power until you see something, let go of power but keep holding the volume keys). Once you see CWM come on, you can let go of the volume keys.
You flashed what from what? If what you flashed isn't the same major OS version, the nandroid backup is probably only going to be helpful through Titanium Backup or some other program since you won't be able to flash it successfully.

Ok so I tried to get back into CWM and it was unsuccessful. It just gets stuck on the boot screen still. I flashed my 2.3.6 stock rooted nandroid backup from this custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1404863 . I can still get to recovery mode just not CWM. Any ideas?
Okay... recovery mode but not CWM... what does that mean?
CWM IS recovery mode. Are you trying to get into download mode instead? For that, battery pull, battery in, plug in USB to computer, hold volume... up (I think), turn on (power button until the screen lights up), let go of power, should be in download mode.

Yeah.. I meant i couldn't get into recovery mode but I can get into download mode. Do you think this would get my phone working again? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498
Working as a phone, yes. If you can get into download mode, you should be able to flash stuff. If you flashed from Froyo to GB-custom, use the one-click twice... first to get the basic ROM over, then tell it to do bootloaders as well. If you flashed from GB to GB-custom, then you only need to flash once.
I'd suggest using the second link, BWaT+stock. Basically, from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822626
If you have any problems, make sure you're following the guide fully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953878&postcount=2
After you get it booting up with root, you can extract apps from the nandroid using Titanium Backup or something else similar.

Thanks. I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498 this and am just going to reboot and everything all over again using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470716 and hope I don't have this problem again. Thanks for your help!!!!!
Had a problem. Hope someone with experience can give me a few answers.
Nave new t-mobile Note 3, SM-N900T. Stock 4.4.2 KitKat Touchwiz rooted.
Rooted to enable SDFix to use SD card as I want to use it.
Everything great! No problems.
Thought it would be wise to have a Nanoid backup.
Opened Rom Manager and made One change in prefrences. I set it for external SD card storage. (mistake?)
Went to 'Backup current Rom' in Rom manager, started it and it started to reboot. Shut down and restarted in a 'Recovery' boot loop??
No matter what I did, Tried holding power, up volume and home button, nothing. Boot loop continued. Removed battery, waited, as soon as I re-installed battery it instantly went back into recovery boot loop.
I don't know what I did, I kept removing battery and trying again and again and all of a sudden, it booted up back to KitKat and now everything is working great again. No problem on any standard reboot.
What happened? I have used this same set up on my S3 and never had a problem.
I would like to backup the current setup for any future problems. But now, I'm afraid to even try.
I removed Rom Manager and re-installed. Made sure that the storage location was reset to internal and it should be OK??
What did I do when I got out of the Recovery boot loop??
So, afraid to try again. Don't want the boot loop again.

Hi. What recovery are you using?
If you haven't installed a custom recovery, then that explains your issue. Basically, the app scheduled a custom recovery script which kept failing in the stock recovery. You should normally be able to reboot into the system holding the power button, thus skipping going to recovery. This also resets the recovery script so everything is back to normal.
Nandroid is normally only possible using a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.
I saw that you might be able to perform a Nandroid without restarting the phone (so without a custom recovery) using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en
I have never tried it. Looks promising though.
But please note that you won't be able to restore the backup without a custom recovery.
EDIT: If you do have a custom recovery, why not boot in recovery mode and make the backup from there?
Cheers
Recovery Boot Loop Problem
I have CWM installed. Setup thru Rom Manager as I have done before on other phones.
Tried it again, same thing. Over and over. Constant reboot. Dosen't matter if I hold the power button or try different ways, same thing.
It says: Recovery booting
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set warranty bit:recovery
If I remove battery and wait a couple of minutes, I can install battery and it dosen't start till I hold power button.
So I held volume down, home button and power button and booted into download mode. From there I cancelled and it rebooted normally.
Everything I've read on boot loops always say 'boot into recovery'. I only wish I could. That's the bootloop.
Any idea on what's wrong?
Thank you for your time and trouble.

Have you tried booting directly into recovery?
So just shut off your phone and then open it by holding volume up + home + power. It should boot into recovery. If it doesn't, I recommend installing cwm or TWRP using Odin instead of Rom manager.
Might be a problem with your current recovery.

Yes, I tried. Does the same thing.
I've never used Odin. All the info I've read mentioned downloading USB drivers and using different .tar files. Checking this and that.
Nothing I've ever done.
No experience with it.
Never had a reason before to use it.
Every instruction website I've read all seem to be different.
I'm gonna have to find out, huh? lol
I've got Odin on my computer, and have the CWM 6 zipped file.
Will do some research.
Thanks

No problem.
A few tips with odin:
-If you have Kies installed, you don't need to install other drivers.
-The file you flash with Odin should have tar or tar.md5 extension
-you have to activate USB debugging from developer options.
-boot your phone into download mode
-run Odin as administrator
-connect your phone. you should see the text Added in Odin. If don't see it, you need drivers.
-you should make sure only auto reboot and f. Reset time are checked
-you should put the file in Pda or Ap(if using latest version)
Click start and wait until it finishes. It will restart itself if you checked auto reboot.
That's about it. It's very safe and easy to use.
Watch some videos on YouTube. You will definitely find some.

I believe the problem must be somewhere else.
Something is stopping the recovery boot. More research ahead.

Strange. You could try TWRP instead of CWM. I use TWRP and really like it:
Here is the download link for your device: http://www.techerrata.com/file/twrp2/hltetmo/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.2.0-hltetmo-4.4.img.tar
This is the Odin flashable recovery.
Here is TWRP page: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/
EDIT: One more thing. Are these the exact steps you are following when booting into recovery?
"To access recovery mode on your Note 3, turn off the device and press Volume Up+Home+Power buttons at the same time for about 4-6 seconds. When the screen lights up and you see the Samsung logo, release the Power button but keep Volume Up+Home keys pressed until you see the recovery menu screen"

Yes, if I use the buttons, the download mode comes up saying 'Boot failed'. That's holding the vol. button 'up'. If I hold vol. down, it loads download mode correctly.
If I try to enter recovery thru Rom Manager, Recovery tries to start and the boot loop starts. ??
I may try TWRP. I've heard a lot about it.
