So I charged my phone to get it to 100% and realized after looking at the battery graph that it had reached 100% but it was showing 99% and i had the amber led light on. So I turned off my phone and then the led turned green. After turning it back on, the led stayed green and the phone still reports fully charged but it still shows 99% has anyone seen this and know what could be causing it?

Happens to me to. Not all the time but more often than not
The battery charges to 100% then stops till 95% then charges back to 100% to avoid overcharge, and other potential problems.

Shouldn't the battery show that progress? And if that's the case, why is it that it doesn't always happen like that? Sometimes it actually reaches 100% as you would expect

It's a known thing and pretty much all smartphones do it, it just all depends on how the battery meters "lie" to you. Every manufacturer does it differently. Hypothetical example: When it reaches 100% and starts doing the discharge/trickle charge cycle the indicator may just stay at 100% even though it's cycling between say...100% and 97%, but when you remove the charger it may change to whatever the actual percent is. Or it may show you 100% and slowly reduce the percent it displays until it catches up with the actual battery percentage.
Anything above 95% is inaccurate to a certain degree on all modern smartphones.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
But then it sucks because my phone never reaches 100% and the green led doesn't turn on so I don't know when my phone is fully charged. I have to go into the battery graph to see when it actually reached 100%. It used to show 100% but after one day that my battery died on me completely, it hasn't shown 100% again

You should unlock your bootloader and root before your OTA makes it so you cant
Just noticed mine stays at 99% to for about an hour then goes to 100% but.....takes about an hour to go back down to 99% even after usage.

Ends up that I was not giving my phone enough time to charge. When I had thought it had reached 100% it had not really done that. I left it plugged in a little bit after it said it was charged and at 99% and it reached 100% on its own

further explain what the hell do you mean? you need to give us a bit more detail on what exactly are you encountering or specifically ask why is this happening.
I included the screen grab didn't I? It says 6 days plus on battery. When the phone lasts only a day. See the screen grab.
And this is after the JB OTA update.

Your being to broad that doesn't mean anything to me all I see is 6days and your charging it every so often what's wrong? Your phone is lasting a day? Explain what exactly your doing you need to specify and further explain what your doing.
For example
In screenie I have 4 days on one charge.
I watched some netflix and barely any usage it was very minimal. And about every other 6 to 12 hours I turn off data and switch on airplane mode as you can see.
Another thing leaving your phone on for that much time just IMO makes the battery life die faster rather than fully charging do your usual stuff till the day ends and once done at night just shut it off charge turn back on in the morn.

Isn't this a bug? It's only supposed to tell me the time the phone's been running on battery since the last charge. See screenshot from my Photon 4G for example.

there is no bug at all. it tells you the time since the phone has been on no from the last charge.
Lets say i use my phone and im around 30% and its been 8 Hours since i turned on my phone from 100%. once i plug it in it will keep track of the time my phones been on (Up time) not from last charge.
there is an app called Better Battery Stats but it causes wakelocks but it will show you those type of stats and more
I think you are mistaken friend. The discharge graph shows the time since the last recharge. See http://support.google.com/android/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2677609&topic=2677645&ctx=topic (last para) for details.

well on my Epic it will say whatever time its been on since turned regardless of being charged or not, ive tested it out on several devices i think your losing your mind haha what does it matter anyways?
Its simply telling you how long you have been using the battery not when it was off the last charge.

For me it happens when the recharge doesn't make the battery goes above 90%. The graph will "reset" when the battery is charged above 90%.

basically the phone continually shows at 0% battery, everytime i switch it on it switches off automatically. when i put it on charge the phone does not switch off but does not charge either, still displays as 0% and as soon as i take it off charge then the phone shuts down. I've replaced the battery but no luck, tried different chargers but no luck as well

Same as mine then. Sometimes it shows 1% and can be used for a few minutes. BUT... if I go to the hidden menu (3845#*920#) and choose port setting and change the port to CP USB the battery meter goes up to 100% and I can use the phone as usual. To bad it shows 100% all the time till the phone dies due to battery drain.

Battery discharges in 1hr of moderate usage on Stock ROM and almost every other ROM

Hi, I'm bumping this one.
I have the same problem. Tried Battery Calibration but 100% shows 4mV and 5 mins later is 64% and 3mV.
Can you explain this solution in deep, please? When you say "wipe everything" you mean getting into Recovery Mode and wiping Dalvik and whatnot? I'm not sure what ICS is either.
Thanks a lot!

Well
The stock GB ROM always showed me 3mv/4mv in battery stats
Other ROMs viz. CM7/9/10 always showed me something on 3xxx/4xxx
Also try doing this
Discharge completely
(After phone auto-shutdowns keep switching it on until it refuses to boot)
*** Try only on ROMs with offline charging ***
Then charge it to 100% and use the NOBOL method by zepperlinox (No battery on logo method )

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with a (new) battery that I've used for 3 months. Even tho it shows thats charged (sometimes as much as 90%), the phone will randomly turn off. Battery Calibration app reads only 3mv for some reason. With my other battery the phone runs perfectly normal (even tho with a big discharge rate since the battery is like over 3 years old).
To perform this, do i really need to install ICS? I'm currently using GingerBlurB V5 (CM7) and I don't want to backup/restore etc
After typing in *#0228# to checkbattery info and clicked quick start at the bottom of the screen my battery instantly dropped from low 30's to 12%. Worried me at first but after charging my battery seemed to have lasted longer than before (possibly just wishful thinking). Anybody else try this? Or can shed some light as to exactly what's happening?

Also noticed Android OS is eating up the battery more than before, and I haven't changed anything except for running this... Will see how it develops through the night at work and charge it tomorrow and see if there is any noticeable difference or not.

You entered it twice and it's sat @ 16% for 30mins? hmm that is interesting, I'm curious, maybe this is a stock battery calibration system of some kind after all... we'll see the benefit after we've charged it I guess.
but then again, maybe this is a cheeky trick to milk the battery quick for the engineers for some reason or another that they require it...
