Hello
Suddenly all the pictures on my xoom disappeared. Every jpg in every folder is gone on the internal memory.
Anyone else experience this?
Using latest stock rom with root.

Hey guys,
I'm somewhat of a noob here but I'm having a problem. I've been using this rom on my G2x with no problems (more than the normal ones) for a few months. All of a sudden today, it restored all my preferences to default, made me go through the initial android set up screen, and I no longer have a data connection at all. It also deleted all my accounts (google, Facebook, etc). Upon restart each time, it keeps doing the same thing- deleting everything and resetting to default. All of my apps are still there and nothing seems wrong with them.
Also, I regularly make backups of my roms, but they are nowhere to be found (either with ROM manager or in recovery mode).
I haven't downloaded anything new recently and I don't think I did anything out of the ordinary.
Please help!! If I can't figure it out tonight or tomorrow I guess I'll have to reinstall the rom---which is fine, but I wonder if I'll get my data connection back...Do you guys think it'll work or should I figure out how to unroot my phone so I can send it back (don't really want to do this because I had problems rooting it originally).
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.
First, go to setting then privacy and disable the backup and restore settings. Then use a file manager to explore your internal and external SD cards to find the clockworkmod folder and see if there are any backups there. You might need to move them to the external SD card in order for the recovery to find them

Hi, noob here, recently rooted my tab and tonight I decided to make a backup in rom manager. Everything went fine, backup made, saved to computer, went into rom manager and deleted the backup, problem is the space for this backup (1.2GB) still seems to be taking up space in internal storage leaving me with hardly any space left. Anyone had this issue before or got any tips on freeing up this space? Thanks.

It should be in a directory named clockworkmod/backups/date(where date is an actual date), if i remember correctly, but i haven't used it in awhile .

need more information about device You are using and os.
Using galaxy tab p3110, running 4.2.2, cyanogen mod 10.1.
Tried checking the clockworkmod directory but there's nothing there.
In the end I just flashed a new rom and formatted internal memory so issue closed
Well, just to answer your question. Since you are running cyanogenmod 10.1 with its multi user function you have to access it in a different way.
Grab a file explorer and go to /data/media and then go to the clockworkmod folder and this delete the backup.
Thanks for the reply, will keep that in mind for the future

Yesterday I decided to do a complete wipe of my phone and restore the latest backup I had using TWRP because I was having issues with connecting to the 4G network. The restore fixed the issue, but now I'm having problems with select apps. I'm running OA6 stock and it appears my apps don't have permission to write to internal memory. I can't save pics from Facebook, for example, to my phone.
If anyone has a clue how I could fix this, I'd appreciate the help! From what I can tell, my internal memory is read only.
Internal storage is indeed read only, and appears to be why my apps can't write internally. Anyone know how to fix the permissions?
Hello guys! I'm in a bit of an odd situation here.
What is happening is that my Mate 7 has files, which are physically written in the internal storage, but with no way to access them.
Here (i.imgur.com/jyEUiSX.png) you can see that the disk usage analyzer detects those files, but when listing all files, it doesn't show them... causing the results to not add up.
(Also here? i.imgur.com/mjZDyS5.jpg)
Here's what caused it:
I was flashing an unofficial CM11 (the first one available for the M7) that seemingly created a different partition for data storage, instead of using the one that the stock rom was using before. I moved my files there, but decided to restore my backup of the stock rom. But that cut access to that new partition completely, though the files themselves weren't deleted.
If anyone has a clue on how I can make those files accessible again, input is greatly appreciated!
Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) currently running Android 6.0.1. There were some photos which I deleted back in July, I want to recover them from the internal memory, however the storage is only 16 GB and most of the time it has remained almost full since then, also there are some whatsapp conversations, text messages, and whatsapp images and videos that I want to recover ever since I bought the phone, most of the images and videos were deleted immediately after I received them. Is there any way to recover all of this data? My phone is not rooted, if the process requires root and can be done, do let me know, thanks.

If you want to recover data on your android using recovery apps then you need rooted android.
You can recover data on PC without root by any data recovery software available.

Nearly impossible, because of your limited storage space, every time it writes something of your new photos or other data in the internal storage, it may be erasing something else that has been "deleted", so your deleted files have been overwritten and cannot be recovered.

Sorry to say that, but I don't think you can get the deleted data back as they are overwritten by your new adding data to a great extent. Generally speaking, you can recover the deleted data by data recovery software like Jihosoft Android Phone Recovery only when you just delete them in a very short time. Additionally, your phone need to be rooted so they can be found and recovered.
