I'm somewhat of a noob here but I'm having a problem. I've been using this rom on my G2x with no problems (more than the normal ones) for a few months. All of a sudden today, it restored all my preferences to default, made me go through the initial android set up screen, and I no longer have a data connection at all. It also deleted all my accounts (google, Facebook, etc). Upon restart each time, it keeps doing the same thing- deleting everything and resetting to default. All of my apps are still there and nothing seems wrong with them.
Also, I regularly make backups of my roms, but they are nowhere to be found (either with ROM manager or in recovery mode).
I haven't downloaded anything new recently and I don't think I did anything out of the ordinary.
Please help!! If I can't figure it out tonight or tomorrow I guess I'll have to reinstall the rom---which is fine, but I wonder if I'll get my data connection back...Do you guys think it'll work or should I figure out how to unroot my phone so I can send it back (don't really want to do this because I had problems rooting it originally).
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.
First, go to setting then privacy and disable the backup and restore settings. Then use a file manager to explore your internal and external SD cards to find the clockworkmod folder and see if there are any backups there. You might need to move them to the external SD card in order for the recovery to find them

My phone had a problem the other day that I fixed, but unfortunately it deleted my data. Or so I thought. I plugged it in via USB and it turns out EVERYTHING is still there, but my phone isn't registering it. Why is that?
can you be more specific? what data? the data in the data folder, or whatever is in your sd root?
I mean applications. I'm not sure where they're stored.
Unless you backed it up, its gone. Download all your apps again. Go into recovery and make a backup and you should be ok from now on. Gdofwar has a tut out. Search for it. It's a simple procedure

Also, the reason you are seeing folders for programs is because they are created upon application install for things saved, logged or independently backed up. Once you wipe the phone, it affects the system and not really the sd unless you do something like rfs converter. Lol

I hope someone can give me some help. I flashed the 2.3.6 rom and modem with cwm. I them tried restoring my apps with Titanium backup pro. It starts and flashes up to the restoring screen then just hangs at 0%. Any help would be so appreciated, i`m still learning.
Go to settings then applications and turn on unknown sources. See if that works

what app is it trying to restore? try a batch restore of only the apps, no app data. if it hangs again, uncheck that app and do it again. i know webmd hangs for me.
CM7 roms typically reverse the storage of the phone. External storage becomes the recognized internal storage and the internal becomes the external, in a sense anyway. You may check to see of you're restoring apps from the correct location. TIBU backs up apps to the actual external SD card which is recognized by CM7 as the internal storage. Sorry I'm repetitive but I wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstood.

Thanks for the help guys. I got it to work. I enabled usb debugging and unknown sources and a couple other things so im not sure what fixed my problem.

I yesterday flashed to ICS CM 9 Alpha 6 and I wonder if there is a possibiluty to backup from Titanium? I already tried a lot of things but it never worked. I only want ot backup my Apps.
It would be helpful to me if theire's someone who can explain me how to do.
Furthermoore I found out that camera always freezes if you like to use a kind of barcode scanner.
I'm thankful for every tip

sure I did. I also have an older one saved on my pc which I tried also. Funny thing is that all dictonaries are visible on sd even with TB but are not to open by TB as backup folder. Before I flashed I was on a cr based on KPQ.
Also tried to format sd and copy the saved backup into it. Nothing worked out. I also read many pages on internet for a solution. It seems that there are more people facing this problem.
sorry, but forgot to tell you that I first thought it could be my sd. so I tried it in my tablet (odys loox even with ics) and there I would be able to restore from sd. so can't be sd itself.
in titanium backup, u can go to options and change the backup folder...
if u can view, but cannot restore, I suspect that you don't have root access?

Is the problem not being able to restore previously backed up apps via TiB? U may hav that problem when your internal/external sd cards got switched with cm9..
Have you tried going to preferences>back up settings>detect sd card & then using the found back ups?

sure I have root. I'm not a noob and it wasn't because of internal and external have changed. IT WAS ME!! Sometimes it makes sense to verify that theire is something to backup in TB folder. I copied an empty folder (. now it works perfectly and even after flashing vurrut kernel ics runs great.
So I got a little bored of CM7 and decided to flash something new. I went with weapon G2X. Installed fine except for some reason when I am in the ROM itself my file manager does not seem to detect anything that I have on my SD card. I know it's still there because when I boot into recovery I can see them there. I side loaded my Titanium apk (thankfully I threw it on my pc for safekeeping) but it will not allow me to restore any of my apps. When I click on "batch actions" I get an error saying mnt/sdcard/emmc/titaniumbackup cannot be found. In recovery mode I mounted emmc and my sdcard with no help at all. What else can I do? I would really like to get this rom working but if not I'm going to restore from my cm7 nandroid.
So I realized that my TiBa location is actually sdcard/titanium backup not emmc. So in the preferences portion of titanium I changed the backup folder to sdcard/titaniumbackup. But that didn't help my issue. Now all I have is "mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup cannot be accessed. Even though when I chose the correct location TiBa is TELLING ME that i have 69 backups in that folder. Any ideas?????????
**Edit- Not sure why but TiBa eventually recognized by backup directory and am now in the process of restoring all my lost applications. Any mods can delete the thread. Sorry.
CM7 and stock based roms use different main storages. CM uses the external one while stock uses internal, so when you did tibu it changed its default location when changing roms.

Hello, I am fairly new to rooting and everything that has to do with it. Long story short, I have only about 2gb left of internal storage on my GS3 yet I have installed CM 10.1 (nightly) and then went back to the normal 'stock' root but obviously backed everything up with Titanium Backup, but then later on I ALSO installed CM 10.1 (Stable), but now my problem is, how may I delete or REMOVE those roms to free up my internal storage? & MOST importantly, is there a way I can do it and STILL keep ALL my backed up apps/app data and what not with titanium? I basically just want to get rid of the roms and stay with just one (CM nightly, the one with 4.2.2) but also keep all my apps/saved backup data from titanium? some please please help! :l
There is only one ROM that is boot able at a time (unless we are talking about multiboot bootloaders but I doubt it) just move all your backups to PC or to the cloud and delete them from internal storage

The root of SD or internal memory unless you installed them elsewhere. If your not sure why don't you connect phone to PC, pull all files to PC, erase all on SD, then just put back what you need for now. Then dig through PC to see what else is there
