The TF300T does not recognise the blob file - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, now I have 10.4.2.20 WW JB ROM and I want to flash the new 4.2 factory firmware to my TF300T (V10.6.1.8 WW version).
The extracted file named EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip is already on my SDCard's root folder. But the tablet does not recognise it, there is no triangle appearing... What to do?
My device is not unlocked or rooted. It is in factory state.
Thanks for help in advance!

If you enjoy custom ROM's, don't the firmware till kernel source is released and people get rom's out, but anyhow, you're gonna need to put it on an external micro sd or regular one if you have the keyboard dock. It wont work if it's on your internal.

The EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip needs to be renamed to WW_epad-user-10.6.1.8.zip.
You will then get the triangle notification for system update.
I have also posted a how-to upgrade or downgrade to any stock jb firmware

Thanks a lot!
After renaming the zip file everything worked well, now I have 4.2 on my tablet!

[Q] no updates and no current recoveryimage

Hello,
my Transformer won't update since i flashed the stock WW 8.6.5.7 onto it.
First the pad has the version DE 8.6.5.13 and it was rooted. Then i encrypted my pad and problems appears.
So I flashed the only stock version I found onto it (WW 8.6.5.7)
Anybody knows this problem or how i can fix this?
Anybody knows the dirfferent between DE and WW versions?
I searched for a DE version (boot-, recovery-, systemimages) but i got nothing.
Does anyone have the current images? DE or WW 8.6.5.13?
I'd be really grateful for any help.
Thank you!
go to asus.com then find the transformer click downloads and download the latst DE frimware from there and place it in you /asus folder on your sdcard make sure your batter is above 50% arnd reboot
Thank you mrevankyle,
but I never try this because ASUS wrote it cannot convert from WW to DE version.
I moved the file to /sdcard/asus/ but nothing happens after reboot
Then I try:
/sdcard/asus/DE_epad-user-8.6.5.13.zip
/sdcard/asus/META-INF/*
/sdcard/asus/blob
/sdcard/asus/UpdateLauncher_DE_epaduserV8_6_5_13.zip
It won't work

Ok, rename the .zip file to: EP101_SDUPDATE.zip and put it in the root of your sd card. Turn your tf off and then hold power+volume down button. Then you will see a little white textand then press vol up. Then it should update
Grtz
I try to put the EP101_SDUPDATE.zip in the root of the sdcard and reboot
after VolDown+Power then VolUp the Android-Symbol appears with the yellow triangle and nothing happens
The eeePad was not updated
I think you can only convert the country code via nvflash. This means that you need to flash the stock DE firmware via nvflash. Then you can apply DE updates. This will completely erase your TF.
You can download the firmware from asus, unblob the blob (use rayman's tools http://androidroot.mobi/2011/05/06/blob-tools/), then use nvflash to flash all the partitions. Be sure to use the new EBT/bootloader or else you'll get bootloops.
Alternatively, you might be able to flash this via the staging partition, but the stock firmware might be too large. I'm not 100% sure this method will work. The system partition can be flashed via recovery, but to convert to DE, you need to flash the DE EBT/bootloader. This will still require the blob tools.

[Q] HELP unbricking my b70+ device please

Hi guys,
My eee pad bricked like 2 months ago and I tried really everything and the conclusion was just wait for ICS. So thats what I did
Now when ICS arrived for our devices I downloaded the original files from asus.com WW and US tried both. And copied first US version to my sd card(which is fat32) and named it EP101_SPUPDATE.zip (I bought my eee pad in the us, so I thought i need us version then) And yes I copied them to the root of my SD-card. so when I booted up with volume button down I saw the recovery text and pressed vol-up and entered recovery kernel. I see a android guy with a progressbar underhim and then it jumps to an android guy(green) with an white triangle with a yellow exclamation mark inside above the android man. and then nothing happens:S (also tried this with the WW update) So my question is what to do what to do
Am I doing something wrong? or is there something else I can do?
P.S. I tried NvFlash alrdy. (didn't work neither) cold-booting doesn't work howver wipe-date in recovery does work!. And my device got bricked when went from revolver rom to custom and forgot to reboot when I flashed the stock asus eee pad rom.
p.s.
when I boot into recovery i see this line;
US-EPAD-8.6.5.19-20111107. Not sure what it means

Did you extract the zip file from within the file you download or did you just leave it as is?
Also try renaming the file to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip instead of EP101_SPUPDATE.zip
Do you still have CWM Recovery installed or did you go back to stock recovery?
If you are using CWM Recovery still I think you can just use that to flash the update.
Also, users running 8.6.5.19 and they try to update to ICS are not having any luck, but if they do a manual update to 8.6.5.21 that works, then they can update to ICS. It appears that ICS will only want to update from 8.6.5.21.

How can I use nvflash with stock rom? Or something with APX mode?

First you have to determined if you have a device that is compatible with NVFlash.
Check your serial number to see what it start with. B60 and previous you'll be OK.
Some B7O will work, B8O and newer will not work with NVFlash.

Since you are on older version of android and havent updated to latest OTA release try universal root toolkilt v7.. follow the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185104
You need to extract the asus folder and copy that as well as putting the EP101_SDUPDATE.zip in the root of your MicroSD.
You could have a bad download. Try downloading again.

How to go back to stock?

What would be the best way to go back to complete stock (no root). Having some trouble updating to JB and just want to do it the old fashioned way.

Are you unlocked? If so, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803343
It says .26 but it should work for JB
Edit: if unlocked you need to flash the new JB compatible TWRP or CWM too!

I assumed that you either have twrp or cwm installed since you're unlocked. The below instruction is much better.
CREDIT to Pretoriano80:
========= Recover Factory Restore with custom recovery =========
1) Download the latest firmware from Asus site (based os your SKU,eg. ww 9.4.5.26 * firmware)
2) Extract the download zip file somewere on your desktop. The file name should be EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip
3) Copy EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip to the root of your MicroSD card
4) Insert the MicroSD card in your tablet and use button combination to go to recovery --> Start the tablet by pressing Volume Down and POWER together for 5 seconds ,a message will inform you that you have 5 seconds to enter the recovery, press Volume UP before the 5 seconds expire
5) From the recovery menu press Install and select the "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip" file ...wait until the install process ends and then restart your device.

Ok so this worked to bring me back to stock, but when I went to update it was still telling me "no update available". So I booted to recovery to make sure i didn't have twrp anymore and it went to stock recovery. Unfortunately the little android guy had a red "!" and it said it couldn't find "/sdcard" and that the update failed.
I just want jellybean :/
Borrow a microSD card from your phone temporarily if you need to.....
I have a very old 2 GB microSD that I keep lying around for situations like this....might not be a bad idea to pick one up at a local store.

Because you have unlocked bootloader, that's why you can't use OTA to update, you need re root and with twrp/cwm, you could install the OTA patch version of JB (incremental update). You could use the stock recovery to update to full version JB, but then you will lose root. If you don't know how I can provide some instructions for you.

[Q] Manually update to JB 4.2 w/ unlocked bootloader. No root

Hello,
I have JB 4.1.1. I'm trying to upgrade to JB 4.2. I have unlocked the bootloader and been trying to root with no success (I've tried many ways). Now I'm trying to upgrade to JB 4.2 but the tablet won't boot on recovery mode. When I try to boot on recovery mode I get the laying android robot with the red exclamation mark.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

This is your stock recovery. You need to install a recovery. You can do this using the ABD tool in the Dev section. After you have a better recovery, which I suggest at least TRWP 2.4.4, Flash the zip in the stock 4.2.1 thread that has TWRP 2.5 and 4.2.1 Boot loader. 4.1.1 will run on the 4.2.1 boot loader. After that then flash the stock 4.2.1 in the same thread. It is pre rooted. This is all if your unlocked.

Unzip the file then rename the unzipped file to "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip" (without the quote), then copy it to the root of your micro sdard, boot into recovery by hold volum down and power button, when you see the white text on the screen let go both buttons, then hit volume up twice, it should flash the firmware file

The guy with the exclamation mark ISSSSS your recovery. It is not a full interface. It will only flash a rom if there is one available, if it is not, it will do what you stated. Unzip the file downloaded from ASUS website once after downloading, then put the zip on your Micro SD card and rename it EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip. restart going into recovery and it should flash it.

Once it has booted up and you have completed your set up you will notice that you won't have root so use Motochopper to root and then download Goomanager and install trwp 2.5.0.0 recovery should you want it.

When you downloaded the new firmware, did you unzip it first, then take the zip in the zip and rename it appropriately before trying to flash from recovery?
