I wipe cache, dalvik, factory, system.
Installed CROMI 3.4.1 then 3.4.4 with stock kernel. Power on for half an hour.
Sdcard formatted as:
1 partition unformatted 8mb primary
2 partition Ext4 rest of card primary active
In recovery i flash cromi-3.4.x-data2sd.zip and then recovery mod (mount-data2sd.zip). After reboot data2sd is working but if I want to copy from my pc to transformer some movies i have restart. Every time. Same when try to copy some data from internal memory to sdcard.
Then i try to install CROMI like at first but then flash that v4 kernel only. Tablet starting with data2sd on, but cant see internal memory and restarts continuos.
Sholud i try other kernel or i do something wrong?
Hi!
You should flash this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892326
There isn't another way!

with this kernel data2d dosen't work on my CROMI 3.4.4
ok. I don't know another kernel which works with data2sd on TF300T. Try install Data2SD with unter's kernel by TWRP without wipe system. Only wipe Data, cache & dalivik and Factory Reset. Data2sd moves only /data, not system.

Hello i want to do the Data2SD mod on my asus tf300.
Formatting your MicroSD:
Open GParted. With no knowledge of Linux this is all still self explanatory.
In GParted- I formatted the first partition to 3gb Fat32
The second partition should be formatted to Ext4 filesystem. Flag it as BOOT. LABEL the partition as data2sd. Make it the remaining size of the MicroSD.
Your MicroSD is ready. Have all backups and flashable zips on the fat32 partition of the microsd.
Boot up your TF300T to recovery.
Here I did a complete wipe of the Tablet.
Install CleanRom 3.0.3
For the option I chose NO KERNEL. Nova Launcher, Play Store as only apps. I did not disable fsync.
After installation is complete, wipe the cache.
Flash data2sd for CleanRom
Wipe Cache
Flash TF300T.zip (unters kernel)
Wipe Cache
Flash Recovery Mod
Do a full factory reset
I was reading this procedure and i understand everything, exept for the part at the end * Do a full factory reset *. I dont really understand if i should do the Wipe data/ Factory reset option in CWM Recover or what? WOnt that delete my ROM and Kernel ?
White data/factory reset will revert the phone to a freshly installed state.
It will not wipe system

I am curious about doing an internal data wipe before flashing a new Rom. I am using TWRP 2.5.5. I am on the 4.2 bootloader and am about to update to the new CROMi. I know that doing a factory reset wipes dalvik, cache, and system, am I wrong in thinking this still leaves some stuff left over on your internal SD? If it does, I want to format all of it. I have the 4.2.1 bootloader, the CROMi rom, and a 4.2.1 stock nandroid backup I made in TWRP all saved on my external SD. What I dont understand is if I format all the data on the internal, how will the tablet know what to do when I boot it back up? Will TWRP be lost? If it does boot back up, what will it boot back up to? I just dont quite understand this internal SD formatting thing so well, so I am asking for some help so I can avoid doing something stupid. I know this is possible because I have read about other people doing it in the CROMi thread, I just want to make sure I am not missing anything
Your tablet has the following partitions (and some others which are irrelevant for this discussion):
- Bootloader
- Recovery
- Linux kernel
- Cache partition (/cache)
- System partition (/system)
- Data partition (/data)
The internal SD card is an emulation that uses /data/media as storage. So if you format /data, that removes all user data including the contents of your "internal SD card" emulation. I don't know why the normal "factory reset" somehow deletes only the rest of /data excluding /data/media. It may be convenient but not what I would understand as "factory reset".
If you format /system (which is not touched by a factory reset), you won't be able to boot Android unless you install a new ROM before you reboot. You don't need to format /system, it's done by the CROMI installer anyway.

Aweomse! Thanks for helping me understand that a little better. My first ROM was CROMi 3.4.4 and I researched all this for about an entire week before I started this but I never fully understand the difference with formatting internal SD and factory reset. I have always installed the new ROM before rebooting anyway but it is nice to know CROMi does the system wipe for you. Didnt know that. If I were to do a complete wipe, would I need to install the most recent 4.2 bootloader prior to installing CROMi so it is there for CROMi to build on?
Oh, and btw your Kernels for CROMi are outstanding.

There is even official TWRP documentation about wiping: http://teamw.in/whattowipe
(I personally have never used any of the wipe options so far, so I am just repeating what I read about it)

There is no "wipe bootloader" option, so there is no need to reinstall the bootloader. Wiping the bootloader would also brick your device and you would need nvflash to recover.

Good to know. Glad I didnt attempt that. My firmware version was .30 so nvflash was not an option for me. Thanks again for your help.
After updating to Cromi-X 5.1.2 w/Rom2Sd I now get Android is Upgrading/Finishing Boot on each reboot. This was a dirty flash so I thought I would do a wipe with TWRP and reinstall. It seems that I am unable to fully wipe with TWRP because I don't get launched into the setup wizard on completion of flash. Do I need to reformat the sd cards manually to get a clean install of the SD card ROM?
Thanks
Ken

Update to 5.2a as I fixed that bug.
Also flash my cromix-mntrom2sd file in the minicromix thread if you want to wipe a rom2sd partition in twrp.
Thx

Flashed this mount to sd file zip and twrp now can see sd card fine. Read the info on install and this answered my question on behavior w/o sd card install. Currently running Cromi-X mini on1.2 on internal and 5.2 hunds w?ET rom2sd. Very fast, loving both. Thanks again.
Hi !
I have flash CyanogenMod 9.1 beta 2 cooperve (galaxy ace s5830i). First I try it from CM 7.2 RC4 : flash kernel biels 4.0, reboot CWM after that mount data, system and install zip from SD card and reboot phone.
I try it from stock rom too - Download EXT4 tool, the Kernel and the Rom on device,
Flash on Samsung recovery Biels temp. CWM.
When you are on the Temp. CWM, flash the EXT4 Formatter tool, so whole system will be converted to EXT4. (Stock filesystem is RFS)
After the installation, flash my kernel you have downloaded before.
When the Kernel is installed, go, on the CWM, to advanced --> reboot recovery (this will reboot the device, and turn it on on the new CWM of kernel)
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
(IMPORTANT) Go to mounts and storage, and make sure system is mounted (will show unmounted), if it shows unmounted, click it twice, to make sure!
Go to install zip from SD Card, after that reboot phone.
In both cases i have got the same problem. In the first case rom boot up, but too many bugs, force closes...(It doesnt look like HW is fixed fully)
In second case, I got bootloop or rom boot up but it shows - setup wizard.it force closes on setup wizard.
What did i do wrong ???

EDIT:
DONT INSTALL AS YOU GOT 5830i ?!?! <----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Am currently on Crombi KK, looking to try out the Lollipop 5.0.2 Zombi-Pop Beta. I know just enough to be dangerous. Installed Crombi-KK to internal, then reinstalled to run ROM2sd a while back, SDcard set up in GParted. Have TWRP 2.8.4.0, just want some clarification on how and what to wipe. ROM thread states to do a full wipe, but I've never been totally sure on what constitutes a full wipe from recovery. From Wipe option in TWRP, there is Advanced Wipe and Format Data. Do I chose one or another or both? In Advanced Wipe, there are 6 partitions:
Dalvik Cache
System
Cache
Data
Internal Storage
Micro SDcard
What one(s) do I select? Since I'm running ROM2sd, do I need to run ROM2sd zip first?
TIA

A full wipe is a wipe of data, cache and Dalvik. In most cases that is sufficient moving to a different rom base and the default in TWRP under the Wipe menu.
If you encounter weird problems, format /data/ (and don't interrupt it. Takes 90 minutes or so!)
There are only very specific scenarios where wiping /system would make sense. /system gets formatted anyway during rom installation - no need to wipe it.
Internal storage - if you want to get rid of everything but do not want to format /data/. Wiping data wipes everything except /data/media/ in TWRP (that's where your personal files live). Wiping Internal Storage wipes everything including /data/media/
Micro SD - wipes your microSD or - in the case of data2sd/rom2sd - the fat32 partition thereof.
If you want to wipe/format your rom2sd /data or /system partitions, yes - you have to flash rom2sd1.zip first
