Dumb Question about flashing

My girlfriend wants to flash her HTC Inspire to MetroPCS I've always had the understanding this wasn't possible for GSM phones? The MetroPCS person she talked to said otherwise, I said he's a dumbass, I searched but couldn't find evidence supporting his statement. Is it possible to flash this phone to MetroPCS?

You are right it is not possible due to hardware issues. The hardware antenna are made for one or the other.

Samsung Infuse on Simple Mobile Network. Can't get 3G.

Okay guys, on the day I got my Infuse I thought I give it a try and put it on the Simple Mobile 3G network. So what ticks me is that I'm always stuck on a 2G network with a big "E" on my status bar. I even called Simple Mobile customer service and they said they can't fix that. Dammit, there has got to be some way to bypass AT&T. Help me out guys. Thanks.

that's just a prepay plan on t-mobile. the infuse will need an att or similar sim card. t-mobile has unique frequencies and features on there network. it is not att's fault. edge only is typical with att phones. try strait talk, they sell sims now and you can specify att compatible.
Yeah...nothing you can do except switch carriers...go to straight talk, its $45 a month for unlimited everything, just go to there website and order an att compatible sim.
Your pretty much guaranteed to get edge when using an att phone on t mobile, simply because they run in differnt cell frequencies or whatever you wanna call it

Hey thanks guys, I appreciate the info. Now that I know, yeah I guess that sounds like a best solution is to just switch carriers. Then again I feel that I made a mistake by buying an Infuse. Dammit, should of gotten the Galax Epic 4G and flashed it to Cricket. But yup thanks guys.
I've been told you cant get 3g because the Infuse is a 4g phone. That could also be an issue as well. I ran into that problem when att had to replace my captivate with my infuse. This is what they told me.

That's not the issue at all...for one thing, the infuse isn't even real 4g...it runs on hspa+, hspa is 3g...so when you have "H+" you have 4g...when you have "H" you have 3g...when you have "E" you have edge/2g
These phones are backwards compatible...if they wernt then you would constantly lose data signal

Android to iOS on vzw?

Someone explain this to me please. If I were to get an vzw iPhone to play around with....I technically would lose my 4g unlimited plan due to the iPhone being a 3g device while I have been using late devices. Basically wondering if sim swapping every now and then from gnex to iPhone is possible while retaining ,y 4g unlimited data. Thanks.

First time T-Mobile and my touch 4G user

Alright I got another phone to use pretty much as a backup and a well a data connection for my nexus 7. Now being stupid I ended up getting two of them via eBay. Anyone wants anything off the spare one just pm me with a price you know the jazz.
Now one of the phone is coming unlocked which I hope assumes it is s-off but I did read the forums and the methods are far different than my main sprint evo.
Any tips if I have to root it myself anything to watch for? I know for my evo it was just plug it in and it became s off and then rooted, but I see none of that for this phone which I guess I'll have to follow the door guides lol.
Also any info on the tmobile network.? Data speeds etc and its supposed 4g network

Well you should boot into boot loader first to see if you're s-off or not. Also go into the dev section and read the sticky permroot and s-off guide. Follow it exactly (don't take any shortcuts) and you should be fine
Also it all depends on your service and plan. If you have good service and an unlimited plan you'll be happy.

Yea I read those. Not some noon thank god because this one seems slightly more complicated then the average too and soff. I am waiting for both of them to come and I will check then. Sucks having to relean the rooting process.
And I was going to gt their 30$ unlimited data (5gb), and text plan from online prepaid. So I hope the data is at least better than my dedicated sprint phone.. data is practically edge speed..

Lol what root process did you learn with the evo? I've rooted a couple of those in my day and its like crazy easy. This one is easy too, you just have to follow directions and it will come without trouble. I have simple mobile and I like it

Well I used I think visionary at one point then another one click root method. Was damn easy jus
T plugged it in and click that's all haha.
And where does simple mobile do service ? I live in the California high desert so any good data speed is hard to come by.

So do you have 2 glaciers or 2 nexus 7s?

I just saw this now, Simple Mobile is an MNVO of T-Mobile, so basically where T-Mobile gets service, you'll get service. They work off of T-Mobile's towers. Although, they do have some sort of cap, I switched my parents off of that and put them on Straight Talk. I wish I could pay that $90 for the "truly" unlimited everything plan, lmao.

Quick question. Does the ROMs on the skyrocket have the hot spot hack? And I know it can get 4g but what about lte? I'm trying to go buy one now and just wanted to know

4G is actually LTE. Some carriers do market HSPA as 4G, while HSPA is actually 3.5G.
This is an LTE phone so yes it does get 4G (LTE). All non AT&T roms have wifi & usb tethering.
AT&T roms do have hacks to enable tethering.
