[Q] XT925 performance - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does this performance can be considered good for a RAZR HD? I'm running ICS with bloatware from my local carrier. Will JB improve this performance? I was expecting more from its hardware.

Jelly Bean usual speeds things up a bit. Those scores look normal.

A little extra points. Nice.
But besides the benchmarks, the regular use seems improved with JB?

Yeah its super smooth even running a lot of apps and the battery simply keeps chugging and chugging under heavy use, I just ran a more extensive benchmark and it shows some impressive stuff.

My battery drops relatively quickly. Brightness at 30%, wifi always on and no gps (when I'm in home). Today, after 11 hours I had only 30%.

But ... This performance is really important ? ... Yes ... but you must consider many others things ...
Like signal ...
Call quality ...
RF ... etc ...
I have get the nexus 4 for 1 week ...
Just sell it today and switch back to my razr ...
Want my razr hd !

Definitely not. The old quad core Exynos 4 is a bit faster.

[Q] The usual "is this normal" questions [sorry]

1. I am new to sensation.
2. Device gets hot when used for a while. Normal?
3. Battery life - none! Worst from any of the devices I used (and I had them all)
4. Running Quatrro ICS ROM from Virtouos.

I have an extended 1900mAh battery and it still gets hot at times.
I see your screen takes up a lot and so does mine, but I get WAY longer than 4 hours even on regular battery. Maybe try changing ROM's to see if it makes a difference. Or check out this battery.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1900mAh...ZJMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333056174&sr=8-1
Try installing a different rom & kernel. Then try setcpu or something similar that let's you control CPU clock speeds. Set up custom profiles for the CPU. Whenever mines starts to get hot it underclocks to a slower speed bringing the temp back down.

Thank you both!
From your experience, is the a ROM out there that is known for its good battery life?

in sensation wid 10%voice 10% sms 20% wifi if u get 15-20 hours ur good
all the things u asked are normal device tends to get hotter wen used
and if u wanna try good roms if u want asop i Highly recommand Virtuos Inquestion 4.0.1
if u want Sense 4.0 Beta roms updated very fast so this is currently for Flasholics Than Insertcoin Beta 14
Stable Rom 3.6 Sense than Insertcoin 5.xx
Flash Bricked Kernel and if u recently flashed a New rom eg Coming from sense to non sense than Sensation takes upto 48hours for battery to settle down n give u good time so dont get fustrated in start
Hope i Helped
i have the best battery life with insert coin sense 4 beta + bricked kernel 0.5

Very low benchmarks!?

So I'm not one to complain about the phone but I feel like my phone has always been sub par with everybody else's scores. Quadrant and An Tutu are bother terrible, and are consistently terrible no matter the ROM I flash. Seems to actually get worse.. what should I do? Flash a stock looking ROM and ask for a replacement and lose root?

Dude, don't worry. I just ran AnTuTu on my old Motorola Backflip and got 508. I got 230 in Quadrant.
Assuming you don't have a million apps running in the background, yeah yours does seem to suck a bit.
I got 6939 in Antutu.
Try to do the swap, but remember that your bootloader screen shows ***TAMPERED*** in big letters up the top so you may well get denied. In Australia you definitely would.
Benchmarking is useless. Ignore them.
Sorry, but if you return the phone because of low benchmarks then please move on to an Apple product...benchmarks literally mean nothing (as long as you're happy with its performance).
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Not sure if you're rooted or not, but try to run benchmarks when the device is cool or even cold. These devices will lower CPU frequency depending on temperature. If you are rooted then set min to max on setcpu, keep the amount of installed apps to a minimum and try a cache cleaner. I did all those and cooling the device to a chill resulted me with this

Im guessing the HOX that is beating yours is the Int. model
Does your benchmark score effect your phones day to day performance? Probably not. Just forget about benchmarks and enjoy your awesome phone.
Sent from my HTC One X
Alright guys I did some more tweaks and got a pretty good antutu score today. It was probably because my phone was hot or something which was why my scores were so bad. For tomorrow I'm going to test some underclocking on stock, to see if I can improve battery life. But scores now:

Yooooo. Samsung quality and the keyboard looks great, compared to this rather garbage keyboard we got stuck with. Thoughts?
Specs aren't nearly as good though. Sadly, I don't think I'd even recommend this for my wife come August when she can get a new phone.

If it's got an S4, I personally would not care about the downgrade in camera. I don't use a camera that much, so it wouldn't be much of a loss to me. I can see why others would be annoyed though, haha.

Wth we got some awesome keyboard I love this keyboard I rate it better than the G2 which was also great, I hate the samsung epic keyboard and this one looks about the same -_-
The best keyboard IMO tho was the sidekick 2, till this day I haven't found a better one on any other phone. the one that was actually about the same in quality was the htc pro 2 keyboard which was pretty awesome but buttons were a little to big.

The Sidekick slide has an epic Keyboard Samsung has no ground in the QWERTY world. If this an Epic 4G for T-Mobile, sign me up. But if it's just one of there cheap boost mobile QWERTYS. I'll stay with my myTouch, which I'm considering giving up once the new Jellybean QWERTY comes out.

Quadrant standard score is LOW with CM10!

Why is the score so low?

Looks like your CPU is underclocked or set to a power-saving governor. Check the Performance tab under settings.
Honestly, it's not worth worrying about, unless you really care about benchmarks. Are you noticing any actual performance issues in day-to-day use?
Arbitrary numbers mean nothing.
As long as your phone handles the task, who cares?

Quadrant scores are always a bit lower on AOSP builds. Doesn't mean squat for real world performance.

nice one
The only Android phone I've had where Quadrant scores are really high compared to stock with Cyanogenmod was an Atrix. It jumped from around 2500 to 5500.That's 3000 over stock. It didn't show too much of a difference though like it sounds. Every other phone I've stayed nearly the same or a little less.
Mine. Running expiramentalx kernel and viper rom ice cream sandwich version.
Sent from the best d*** phone I've ever used
my s3 gets 6000 on touchwiz and 4500 on cm10.1
it is probably making our devices slower, but the project butter makes us not notice lol
I can't believe no-one has flamed you.... Ok, this one's for you...
Benchmarks means nothing! ! !
Jk with you
I don't know why that is. Have you tried playing with developer options? I've never gotten lower benchmarks on cm.

Moto G or Atrix HD for MVNO?

Planning to ditch Page Plus for an ATT MVNO. Have always used Motorola phones so thinking of a Moto G or an Atrix HD. Don't use much data so 3G is OK, at least for now. Any of you Moto G users switch from an Atrix HD?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Moto G has better specs than the Atrix probably.

Had an HD. Good phone with strong Dev, but its only advantage over the Moto G is the microSD slot and (maybe) the camera. The battery life is dismal unless you swap in an eb40
The HD is 1.5yrs old already. I would just get a new G.
Plus official 4.4.2 is a no brainer

I also had an HD and pretty much agree with this. The only thing I miss from the HD is the T-Mobile LTE. I don't miss the other stuff at all.
Plus, despite what ROM I used I always felt like the HD hardware was a little slow. Even compared to similar spec'd phones for the time. But the Moto G powers through stuff. Like I said, only wish it had LTE.

Well I do the side by side often I have the eb40 as well..the Atrix cost around the same after the battery swap. The g looks better and benches higher... And lives longer even though the rear shooter is packing less mp but umm still out shoots the Atrix HD but LTE is kinda important to me
