2/16/2012 - Updated StellaCept apk
NEW Version: http://www.box.com/s/9jxd9uilk58damr61e3k
As a Japanese enthusiast I'll give it a shot to the last game (The Last Mage), they look really cool. Sadly I'm not skilled at kanji but who cares, it's a free RPG
Edit: It asked me to register an account and verify via e-mail, which could only be made using a @something.jp address of their choice. Meaning I couldn't get it
My wife is Japanese and from Japan, maybe she can read and register for me
Why do you not learn Japanese language ?
It is not fair that all people in the world learn your language [English] and you don't learn thier languages

My wife is from China and has no family from China here in the US. So last year we went to China for 6 months (my second time, first was 2 weeks) so that her family could see our daughter and spend time with her. Chinese is hard, but worth learning. For me I wanted to learn it out of respect to my wife and her family. Granted I am definately not fluent but I could tell her family and friends were pleased that I was trying to learn it. Chinese language doesnt have a huge vocabulary, but they do have 4 tones, and you can say the same word but change the tone and it will have different meanings. First couple weeks I was trying to say mother, to my mother in law, and she would just start laughing. Turns out mother and horse are pretty much the same with the exception of a different tone. Thank God in China they dont view calling a woman horse like how it means here in the US.
Otherwise I would have disappeared from Planet Earth forever.
I wonder if there is any way to get the above games? Even if they are in Japanese. I know there is like market enabler, but on Verizon we do not have working sim cards slots on our phones so that wont work. Any ideas of getting these games? That would be neato.
Is it possible with MArket Enabler.?

You know what I am not sure. I hope so. I cannot use that app as it changes your phones Sim card country ID, I am on the Verzion CDMA which does not have a working Sim card. So I cannot try it out. If someone can give it a whirl please let us know the results.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!
The three games at the top I have them. I did the following,
Made an account at the following japanese VPN, I used google translate to create an account:
(This first to fix VPN)
http://software2tech.com/tag/how-to-solve-android-phone-vpn-connection-problem/
Go to this page follow link below to access site and create a VPN account (its free)
http://www.vpnsurfing.com/2011/08/free-pptp-vpn-service-provided-by-tsunagarumon-com/
Sign in with account on VPN under wireless & Networks under your settings
I then used market enabler to reflect Docomo Japan.
I then selected the links above to see if they woulld work and they did. I almost forgot I created a new gmail and listed it as from Japan. Then i changed accounts from android market on my phone and signed in under the new gmail on the website android market. Selected the above links and they worked. They listed up as free. I will save the apks and post links for them here. Next I will try to get Ridge Racer Accelerated. Cross your fingers.
-------
In case you dont want to do any of that above you can try the games, and try using my build.prop. Remember my build.prop is from my phone which is a R800x by default. AND I am not repsonsible if anything bad should happen to you phone in attempting to try this.
Here is the link to download the zip.

Update again..... Hmmm.... so the first 2 apps load but it appears the rpg is played inside your web browser. And I am unable to go further, will have my japanese friend take a look and see if he can get beyond that page. Same concept as with Elemental Knights Online (which supports the xperia play directional pads and x button)
Celes Arca works, again Web browserm thats why the games are so small, they are being pushed to your phone via the servers the game is on. Still getting the final stages to work, here is another game, again it was free on the japanese android market.
http://www.box.com/s/xva859j2l4f97lp2bfxf
K, got the games to load up and working however my Japanese is not very good, I mostly just wanted to see if I could get them to download which I have been successful. I really want to try and get Ridge Racer Accelerated, and if I can I will then see if I can get the Resident Evil 4 from the Korean market.
Seems like they are a lot of mmorpgs. All but the last mage. Did anyone try it?
And what about the last game you mentioned?

yes, they are all MMORPG. The largest game is only around 9mb. The games load up in your oweb browser, meaning the game itself is being pushed to your phone via the server connection. If you have ever played Elemental Knight Online (EKO)
https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.co.winlight.eko_tw&hl=en
Its a great game and you can use your xperia play controls, no touchpad. Where EKO is mostly in english, the above ones are in straight Japanese and I am not nearly fluent enough to realy play as game. I was hoping it would be a mix of the two, guess thats why it was region locked to Japan until I got a hold of them.
Anyway what weird is when you click on the links above for the android market they show up as a paid game, when I selected the links and I was on the Japanese VPN with the market enabler for Japan / Docomo they popped up as free, odd. But anywhere if they were not a free app I woula most certainly not have uploaded them. I am still not able to get access to Ridge Racer Accelerated. I need to find a build.prop for the 006SH (Sharp Aquos SO-01C) phone. I have changed what I could to try and reflect the phone and I got it to see it as the above phone, but it still wont let me download it, so obviously I am still missing something. If anyone finds anything please pass it on here so that hopefully we can get access to the game.
Here is the Japanese G-Gee Game Center app. Its a Japanese Game market.
Here is the G-Gee Market app

And if anyone wants here is my modified build.prop for Japan

I was able to install Celes Arca using your apk's. Luckily didn't have to use the build.prop or change stuff around.
It was a little annoying because it opens a website and had to go back and forward a few times to log in properly.
When I got into the game I soon had to close it hehe but didn't get into any fight, only spoke to a couple of NPC's and didn't really figure stuff out.

There is an update to the StellaCept Online game. I have the updated apk and will be adding it below.

I just got word back from the developer of Vanessa Saint Pierre Delacroix Nightmare (wow, such a long name) that they are currently working on an Xperia Play modified version. This is a cool game, I can't wait to have it on my play.

Nice, never played the game but I will give it a whirl when it gets released for xplays.
Came across this earlier, and was saddend as I have been waiting for this to come back... I had all but given up hope until this dropped:
http://www.supergamedroid.com/2013/...ng-back-to-android-says-trendy-entertainment/
Source:
http://dungeondefenders.com/dundef-digest-11013
Mid section paragraph:
"Android fans, I have some bad news to share with you. I sat down with the development team to talk about when Second Wave will be coming back to the Google Play Store. I’ve been informed that Second Wave will not be coming back to the store. Our previous hosting arrangement for the game expired, which is why the game went down from the store. To modify the code to use Google’s new content hosting features is too costly."
Now there are those who still have the apk, such as myself but I have always had issues playing it since it went down last summer....
Have uploaded both Xperia Play and TouchScreen/Tegra versions apk's as they were free. I have Xperia Play Sd data as their servers were still active for now and will try upload that too (Mite not be today as having issues with my net).
We need more Xperia Play games and not to loose the few (well around 400 but am rounding it off lol) we have so let's try preserve them
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attached Below are the last apk versions of Dungeon Defenders 2nd Wave. The apks are FREE and so are not warez and are posted here for preservation purposes. (Have Zipped the APK's so would upload to XDA)
Xperia Play (App V7.1) Version is for Xperia Play Hardware Only.
Touch/Tegra (App V7.6) Version is for Touchscreen or Tegra Devices only.
I would suggest checking the database of xperiaplaygamer.net . There are some games which can´t be loaded anymore (Asphalt 5,Battlefield Bad Company).Check every available link. Maybe someone can preserve them when they can´t be bought anymore.
Ok you put time and effort into your games or apps but still cant seem to get downloads. You might even see a game or app similar to yours but for some reason they are charting but your not. There are over 100,000 developers and over a million apps on googleplay. What are they doing that your not?
1) Website- I see a lot of developers that have a single blog page for all their apps. Look at the format of google play and match your website as close as you can to what google play has. Why? Customers are use to a certain format and like things that look familiar . Think like a customer when building a website and put the same effort as you were in programming your apps.
2)Social Networking-Make a twitter and facebook account. Any app release you have or updates post them. You can even interact with customers and get feedback directly from them. Use this as a tool to learn from real people and adjust your game or app based on feedback.
3)Make Niche Apps- There is no way indie developers can match the power of big companies. Rather than try to take on gameloft or EA focus on niche apps. Small apps like car locators or how to cook books. Small apps like these have been know to get more downloads vs making a game going against a bigger company. Small focused apps or simple games with great graphics can draw people to your app.
4)Post in Forums- Post your game or app in several forums. Be careful as many forums are not really indie friendly. Most forums have a section where you can post games or apps away from where regular forum users cant see. Also you might run into jealous developers who have nothing better to do then degrade your game. Post in several forums to bring in users but remember this is only a small part of your marketing efforts. This forums is very developer friendly though.
5)Rate Me Button- In your apps your should have a rate me button and a googleplay button that points to only your apps in google play. You can also have a button to your website to give the customer a more personal touch.
6) Paid vs. Free- I would suggest you make 4 to 5 free apps before making a paid app. Most customers do not want to pay and only enjoy free apps. You can make a paid version but be warned if you make a paid version users might
1) uninstall the free version
2)buy the paid version
3)refund the paid version but keep the apk on thier device
4) Now they have the paid version for free.
I will make another how to market your android apps part 2 soon. Till then good luck with your games and apps.
These are helpful tips seeing as me and a friend just released our first app a month ago, thanks!

Your welcome hope your friends apps does well
Hi everybody
We have recently finished our word game - where real players battle online in pairs in short 60 second rounds. We are now finalizing our marketing strategy and would love your input from your experiences.
We have bought some banner ads, done a bit of ASO and bought paid reviews on certain key web sites. Has anyone got anything to add, stuff to stay away from, or websites they gave them amazing results.
The game is called WordWarX - Word Games from 1303Productions
Many thanks.
David.
The free version app is here:
id=com.wordwarx.bas&hl=en
You better watchout for paid review , sometimes you get banned by google because some of those website if not all of them use robot to submit reviews and not actual people
In the past I have downloaded a few different apps from the Play store that let you do scratchers to gain coins, where you watch an AD to play. Enough free coins got you enough for a free gift card. Problem is every one of these apps is a scam, and if you read the recent reviews you can see just that. People get their accounts locked before they can cash out.
So I developed Free Lot.io, the 100% free lottery with PayPal winner verification's at the end of each month. When in the app you watch a short video ad to claim your free ticket. Right now the cap is 7 times per day with potential to increase up to 10 times per day. In the app you can also see the total amount for the month so far, this will increase faster as more people start using the app (The more that play, the more we pay). At the end of the month we have a script that will randomly selects a winner. The winner can win a total of up to $10,000 if the jackpot pool is that high, if the Jackpot pool is over $10,000 then a second winner will be selected up to $10,000. For example if the total loto pool is at $23,000 there would be 3 winners, the first receiving $10,000 the second getting $10,000 and the third getting $3,000. It's that simple, no data logging, no excessive personal information, and no permissions required/requested. You must be 18 years or older to use this app, and create an account. I am very excited to be sharing this with the community. And we're excited we did our first payout the other day! All winner verifications are located on our Instagram located here Instagram

We confine within all of Google Play's terms and conditions. Since this is a sweepstakes app (No money involved from the user), we don't have to worry about the gambling aspect of it. Google has reviewed the application and approved it's spot on Google Play.
Really interesting idea. App seems to work fine.
I'm aware this is a beta but to polish it you could change the toasts to snackbars and add progress bars/spinners for when you register/login as well as perhaps add some haptic feedback.
