[Q] restarting after moto logo - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've put latest clockworkmod 6 recovery and installed cm 10 on my xoom but after install the device restart every time after motorola logo...cyanogen logo doesn't come at all
the recovery can't open the internal memory but he can open external sdcard..
is my internal memory corrupted?!
i've tried so many thing & wipe data... but not helped..
hope someone can help me for that.

Hi,
I don't think you have to be worried about the internal storage. You should try reinstalling the CM 10.1, or try another recovery like TWRP.
If you still can't mount Internal Storage, neither boot, feel free to ask more questions, I will try helping you as much as possible

[Q] Nexus S is freezing Google Screen

Hi,
I´m Brazilian (sorry for English mistakes). I really need some help. My message will be long, because i´ve read a lot, and tryed a lot of things. Please, if you can, help me. . "Yes, i saw the video!"
When I turn on my Nexus S, It is freezing in GOOGLE SCREEN.
I have read a lot in the web about this problem and try a lot of things, but i cant fix it.
My first test is go to another ROM, I´v tried CyanogenMod and MIUI, but i cant change my ROM.
I´m using a rooted phone "LOCK STATE - UNLOCK", with ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.4.
Nexus S works in the FASTBOOT MODE, and goes OK to RECOVERY MODE.
If I try to acces the SDCARD (Mount, Format, wipe), i received a fail message.
In a google forum, someboy teach that we have to WARM the cell, and if i warm it (in a coffe machine), we can access the sdcard.
When it warmed, i try to FORMAT the SDCARD in a lot of ways (by Cellphone, By windows - Fast Format, using a Panassonic software). The SDCARD works, show the OK format Messages, and when i turn it off, and turn it on, all files are there (They went back, after format).
When I try to install MIUI, Miui doesn´t work, but the cell go to "normal ROM". when it was warm, it works (with a lot of fail messages), when it was warm, it wasnt work.
Thanks for help
so you can connect your phone to your computer en put things on the sd card , but when you try to install a rom, it won't work.. correct? so can you boot up your phone ? because i'm a little confused with the hot and stuff.. try wipe cash and wipe data/factory reset before installing a rom , maybe that will do the trick..

I can connect my phone to my computer (usb).
I can use ADB, and FASTBOOT DOS commands.
I can put things in my SDCARD (when it´s warm), i can delete my old files in my SDCARD. But when i reboot the phone, my new files (roms, normal files) are not there, and my old files that i deleted are there. So, it´s complete insane. when i format the sdcard, the old files come back after i´ve deleted. :-(
I would update your recovery to the new 5.0.1.0 to start. You can do that with fastboot. The older 3.x recoveries had issues with SD cards mounting.
You can also download the factory image files from the development section and use fastboot to return to stock. Try that and let us know what happens
"The hot and stuff".
When the cell phone is HOT (warm), i can access the sdcard.
When it´s in the normal temperature (30ºC , 86ºF), the SDCARD doesnt mount, and nothing works.
If i can turn off the sdcard and use just the normal memory, i think i can use the phone.
Nexus One users can fiz this problem taking the edcard off.
We dont have Samsung warranty at Brazil. :-(
I´ll update my recovery. Thanks. I´ll do it at night, because my coffe machine is not here. lol. Do you have another idea? Does anybody have idea what´s going on about that "warm problem"?

e: Cant open /sdcard/update.zip (bad)
When you are in the recovery did you click on "install zip from sdcard" and then browse to the correct .zip OR did you just click on the option that says "install update.zip?

Today i´tried to remove the cd card. i open the nexus s, and i saw that i cant do anything.
the sdcard is not removable, it´s fixed in the motherboard, so, i cried and still have a broke phone. could anyone help me? do you have some idea? i tried to g to samsung at brazil, they said that they cant help, there is no warranty, and i´m by myself.
In your recovery console there's an option that says mounts and storage. Try mounting each of /data, /system, /sdcard, and /cache.
Post any errors you get, exactly as they appear.
Don't be too upset, there's a lot of things we and try before we call it broken. Went through a crisis a lot like yours about a month ago, and trust me when I say that there's a good three days of things we can try
Hey man I here ya on the crisis. But remember you got a Nexus S, these are almost unbrickable. I would recommend finding the ODIN how to here on xda and giving that a shot.

[Q]Fastboot mode - no boot or recovery img

My friend gave me his Nexus S after he messed up something while trying to flash ROMs. When turning on, device goes straight to the bootloader and on the top it says red-coloured: "Fastboot mode - no boot or recovery img".
I can get into CMR but when I go to 'install zip from sdcard' there is nothing so my guess is that my friend has made a full wipe of everything (including SD Card, ROM, etc.) and now he has nothing to flash and stuck in the bootloader/recovery.
My PC won't let me push files to the phone as there is no ROM installed so the phone isn't recognized as a mass storage. Is there any other solution?
You can mount storage in CWM, go to 'Mounts and storage'. Your PC should pick up as a mass storage device and you'll be free to transfer files.

Wow, I can't believe that this was going to be such an easy one!
Thanks for your help man, really appreciate it!

[Q] Internal memory

Hello,
I'm having some problems with an old (rooted) samsung galaxy apollo (i5800). I tried to flash CMW recovery but afterwards, I
1. Don't have it
2. ! I don't have any internal memory !
The second one is the main problem. Sometimes I read that you don't need internal memory for installing a terminal emulator, but when I try to install it, it still says: not enough memory. Installing on my sd also doesn't work (I just can't). Does anybody have a solution? Also, the phone resets itself everytime I boot it. I can get into the recvery mode, I thought may be something with the update.zip?
Thanks in advance!

External_SD crashed and Link2sd messed everything

Hi guys,,, I need some guidance to fix this.
I have Galaxy Tab 2 7" p3113 that my daughter uses to play.
So,,, I had to install link2sd and 32gb microsd to link games + data to external sd because she installs too many games.
Everything was fine until sd die.
I bought a new sd, created 2 partitions 1 fat32 and other ext2 both primary as before.
The problem is all previous installed app were "removed" from tablet and I cant install anything from Play Store due Insufficient Storage Space.
Then I deleted all movies, pictures, wiped cache partition, dalvik cache even a factory reset. Now tablet has 4.31gb / 4.59gb free and I cant install anything.
I installed Omni rom to test but same result.
In my opnion, I think this issue was caused buy link2sd after sd died. But I dont know how to fix it.
Could anyone help me to fix this or point me some direction, please?
Thanks

that was my next option but I think it wont help because something is using all space.
After installing Omni rom I was able to install just 2 games: looney tunes and zombie. Once I got insufficient space error I uninstalled both games and Im not able to installed anything more.
Thats too weird.

Download the firmware from this site.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P3113/
Do you know how to flash firmware using Odin?
If not here's how
Download Odin In your pc.
Link for odin-http://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin/
Now after installing Odin and open it.
select the PDA button in it and browse for the firmware file you downloaded before.
In your device go to download mode by pressing power+vol down.
Connect your device to your pc (make sure you have your usb drivers installed)
Now click start and wait. Once it says finished remove the USB cable.
Now if you are stuck in the boot logo for more than 30mins try going to recovery and perform a factory days reset.
Now you would have the official firmware.
Check the partitions now.
Cheers,

Before Odin step, I tried again and maybe I got it working.
1. full wipe + cache + dalvik
2. reflash Omni rom + SU
3. installed ES File Manager
4. installed busybox
5. installed Lucky patcher => troubleshoot => Remove fixes and backups
Storage space: 4.31gb free / 4.59gb
Now I could install some games like:
Looney tunes, zombie tsunami, talking tom, angela and Minions.
I dont know if this realy fixed my problem but I was able to install those games.
I wont abuse of my lucky today
Any advice on link2sd? Can I install it again and link apps to sd once I get in trouble with space? I read in somewhere samsung doesnt support link2sd.
Thanks for your advices

Well on the first thought you were actually using link2sd before your card got damaged so how no Samsung support?
Well if you think you have sorted it out, try it, if it does, well and good, if not Format/wipe system too along with data next time you wipe and flash

Desire S / frozen at boot + problem writing to sdcard from twrp

hello,
My phone (HTC Desire S S510e) is frozen on boot screen, after trying to install a new ROM. For some reasons, my backup made with TWRP cannot be restored.
After different tries for resintalling/restoring, my status is the following:
- no OS installed / no OS booting : phone stuck at boot on HTC logo
- phone is S ON, HBOOT Unlocked, v2.00.0002
- TWRP 2.6.3.0 installed
- external sd card wiped many times using TWRP (I went many times between TWRP 2.6.3.0 <=> 2.6.3.1 trying, wiping options not being exactly the same).
I am now trying to get back to a working OS using CM 12.1 (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire-s/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-nightlies-t3071051). I have put the the zip file on the external microSD card (ext4, no journal, formatted from a linux box).
Installing the ROM zip from TWRP, I get the the following failure messages:
e:Unable to mound '/sdcard'
e:Unable to recreate and-sec folder
[...]
could not detect filesystem for /dev/block/platform/msm_[...]
[...]
Screenshot : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/102556377/20161105_155908.jpg
Is there a problem with my external microSD card ? any other suggestions ?
thanks
Tom
Maybe you haven't setup SagaOpt. I had similar problems on my Desire S "SAGA" when I flashed TWRP for SagaOpt.
I flashed TWRP for SAGA and now TWRP seems to be behaving itself.

hi and thanks for answering,
from your post, my understanding is : there are two separate versions of TWRP , one is for "saga", one for "sagaopt" (I didn't know that, and will try both).
Since my initial post, I had the phone work "a little better": I managed to have a CM13 booting on the phone. I think the way I managed to install without the previous error messages was by formatting my external sdcard using fat32. I don't understand why it made things go better.
Now I'm stuck on "Encryption unsuccessful" message (like in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447303).
By reading a few others posts, seems like the problem is related to internal memory card and/or external microSD card partition type. Still very unclear to me about what to do next. Any suggestion welcome !
thanks

Here's a short explanation that I got about Saga and SagaOpt.
Here's the latest TWRP for Saga 2.8.7.0 and here's TWRP for SagaOpt 2.8.7.1.
That's all I know at the moment, I'm new to HTC.
Mmm... this /data versus /system path may be relevant. in solving my problem.
I will dig more into this and come back with news in this thread.
thanks again
Just to let you now the problem is now solved :
- using TWRP 2.8.7.1 for "sagaopt" + CM 12.1 for "sagaopt".
- by changing my external microSD card. The first one got sort of corrupted (though working fine under Windows with fat32, maybe it's only a partitionning issue / partition table issue more than a real physical corruption)
- by launching wipe => format all in TWRP before installing CM
thanks for helping

Sure, you're welcome.
So, how's CM13 working for you? I tried CM12.1 and it was barely usable due to the slowness (not trying to offend devs, just making an observation).
