[Q] Is there a way to increase processor speed of NEO V? - General Questions and Answers

Any tweaks/softwares/any other methods that increase speed of the CPU/Processor for XPERIA NEO V?

Yes you can
Well, you need to overclock your CPU but watch out ! it may harm your phone
All what you need is a rooted phone and head up to google play store and download SetCPU and set the speed up to 1.9 GHz
Hope it helped
Enjoy

Alternatively you can flash a custom kernel and overclock your phone(I think overclocking doesn't work in the stock kernel).

Using the Mini CM7 rom for the mini pro, I was able to overclock it to 710 Mhz and use it for daily purposes without any problems. The battery would last me for a full day on full charge with moderate usage.
Hi, i know that is not the tread, but you can help me whit the camcoder of Dingid rom, how to are for work

Overclocking Xperia Tipo[Discussion]

Hello,
I've recently bought Xperia Tipo and while reading the threads I came to know that its processor is underclocked...Have any of you guys got a success in overclocking the phone...?
Since I don't have much knowledge in this,so I want to ask, what overclocking benefits us?Will it make phone run faster, gaming without much lags and compatible for more games? Also, will this help in receiving Android JB on this phone?
Cheers,
Centurian
You are right the phone is underclocked and we will be able to overclock it someday, but we need to change the kernel for that I think
At this current point in time I know we can unlock the downloader and root it (android jb) maybe more
Now this has been achieved we will need a dev to find a way to overclock it since the CPU apps in the market only allow us to run the CPU at 800mhz max.
I will update when I know more, please say if you find out before I do though

Have you or anyone else tried rooting the JB onto this?
Also,is the app like SetCPU good to overclock or will it even work on tipo?
We can't overclock the CPU using any apps until the kernel is modified, this is because the kernel is told we have an 800MHz processor so wen we try to use setCPU it won't go any higher

we could overclock the phone by loading a kernel overclock module
but i have no idea how to build yet im still setting up my computer after moving house so i wont be able to do any real work for a couple of weeks but i will see if there are any prebuilt modules that will work
then i am gonna learn how to build and start playing
but we need cwm just in case it all goes wrong
please correct me if I'm wrong. as far as I know overclock only possible with custom kernel. no module can do it. however, we still can add several stuff via modules like new govs and iosched. I've downloaded the kernel source and build several iosched modules. unfortunately, the modules cannot loaded into the system due to unknown reason. the kernel source also a lil bit messed up. I never could build a complete kernel due to error message.
I used droid overclock on my droid and it overlocked by loading a kernel module or is different in ics

No that's right.. most moto phones are over clocked through modules.. we have locked boot loaders.. so no custom kernels.. the modules are loaded on bootup... which processor does tipo have?

Qualcomm snapdragon s1

I remembered that Xperia X8 had a module to enable overclock, how about Tipo?
tipo have no module to overclock
Someone would nee to build one

Now they released unlocked bootloader shall we be able to overclock our tipo?

Are there anyone, going to spend time to mod this phone, it is a lower price range phone.
Most people will probably spend the time on a higher spec phone. I am interested in this phone, it's a shame that sony phone contains alot of pixels problem.
it is possible to overclock with a custom kernel, and BTW Tipo / Miro are not underclocked, the chipset is just slightly slower than MSM7227A (1Ghz).
R
Edit: i was wrong. Its underclocked.
Wait for a custom kernel to overclock the CPU.
Anyone tried overclocking on the FXP CM10? It should have an overclockable kernel.
Is it true that tipo could be overclocked??
Because months ago I thought that tipo has Qualcomm MSM7227A processor (which can run up to 1GHz), but today I looked for in many web pages, and all of them say that in fact the processor is the MSM7225A, which can only run up to 800MHz..
EDIT:
It seems that tipo has Qualcomm MSM7225A processor, so I imagine that we canĀ“t overclock it, right??
http://developer.sonymobile.com/2012/06/13/xperia-tipo-and-xperia-miro-two-new-fun-and-stylish-additions-to-the-xperia-portfolio/
It's the same cpu as the L3, so it can be overclocked up to 1ghz.
The Tipo/Miro (it's basicaly the same phone) hasn't got that much devs now. We just need a rebuilt kernel.

No it is MSM7227A i have checked that with antutu benchmark and many other apps

Miro Overlocking

Hi,
I have installed Vengeance Kernel, but in android overclock max slider is 800Mhz (phone is rooted). What should i do more to achieve 1Ghz overclock?

As of Vengeance kernel version 1.43 overclocking has been removed for the Miro. To overclock you need kernel version 1.40 or earlier.
where can i download it?

I don't believe that you can anymore, try getting in contact with the dev of the kernel to see if they can get one. You shouldn't need to overclock now though, the tweaks what have been added to the kernel make it just as good at normal clocking as it is overclocked.
My bad, you can still download it from the devs MediaFire account. Here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/download/rr5mnzl5pmdal6h/Kernel_Vengeance_Mesona.zip
You still shouldn't need to overclock though.
Lock and unlock bootloader ?

[Q] Tipo CPU and GPU Overclocking

Hi!
I have rooted Tipo. Running on Free Xperia kernel (3.0.8-FXP-g22c38de5) with MIUI 3.7.19 ported for Tipo on Android 4.1.2. What a long sentence So, my question is; can i overclock GPU and/or CPU. I have tried to overclock, but i only was able to underclock
you can only overclock cpu at stock rom with vergeance kernel (1.40) but it isnt stable
Sent from my Xperia Tipo using xda app-developers app
So I can't
Ok, i might test it later, but not now since it's unstable. Thanks for info

anyways still no overclocking for cm, you can try some scripts like adrenaline engine or something like that and see if you can get improvement

either you don't have init.d support or busybox, or adrenaline engine is really worthless, IDK check if you have those two things, if you have them then adrenaline engine doesn't work well on CM. I noticed some improvement with multitasking on stock rom

You can use 1.40 vengeance kernel with gimlo rom.....i come from cm10 and miui.....believe me ...this rom is pretty fast.....and with vengeance kernel, i get 5041 score in antutu benchmark .
Earlier this vengeance kernel was very unstable......but now with gimlo ,this is behaving very well.....no doubt there are some some reboots when you strain the cpu a lot but thats very predictable
And one funny thing....i can play subway surfers all day long without any reboot ...hhaahaaa my fav game
Try it
If you get unstabilities, you can always switch back to stock...or better set the vengeance kernel to 800 (its rock stable there) and still you ll get 200 more points than stock Its a win-win situation .
Below is my setup

What if i use version 1.46 of Vengeance kernel? Any difference to 1.40?

It's more stable, but no overclock. I haven't tried it still, but I don't recommend using 1.40. If you want to play a 3d game or watch a flash video on a website the phone will reboot, regardless of the frequency or governor/io set
So now i know what to do.

So I'm going to install 1.46 and probably not overclock. I may test it, but if it crashes all the time, i'm not going to overclock.

[Q] Xperia J on Vengeance Kernel vs. Xperia J without Vengeance Kernel

I've seen some reviews on Xperia J that say Vengeance Kernel makes it clock at 1.3Ghz speed?Like the title says will my phone get a better benchmark score If I install Vengeance Kernel.
Can I flash the kernel to my phone using flashtool without unlocked bootloader
Thanks and hoping for an answer

No,You must unlock bootloader.
Vengeance kernel will overclock from 1ghz to 1.3ghz,nothing special
Xperia J (Jelly Bean) + overclock1,3Ghz vengeance kernel = more laggy then not overclocked kernel 1Ghz
ICS + 1.3 = perfect!

This overclock is unstable.
1.3 ghz?
You browse Qualcomm website to see Snapdragon S1(Xperia J Proccesor) maximum clocked speed is 1 ghz only.
