This ROM is Rooted, but just include DSP Manager from CM (not Dolby from Acer )

Yes, RootBox-JB-a700-Nightly-20130315 is online, including last RootBox merge like Dark RootBox and some news features in Rootbox Settings
so whats the difference to simply flashing the official AOKP Roms?
Well you could just read the RootBox website. Rootbox is based on CM, AOKP and some more. It mixes a lot of features and I don't know AKOP well enough to tell you the differences. Just try it and you'll see

Almost perfect. Works flawlessly and very smooth. Unlike the CM10.1 from odiva even the system folder access has no issues (e.g. adaway).
The only thing - as in any non-stock rom the sound is very quiet. Subjectively this is even the quietest ROM.

I've been testing this rom on A701 for Shreps for days and he did a great job in making it work on this tablet. A huge thanks to him for the time and effort he put in to this!
ROM works really well and smooth
Edit : spoke too soon, I am connected on the 3G network but the data doesn't work

Tried "7comp-JB-a701-Nightly-20130413" nightly and 3G also not working for me. Please keep up the work. Two CFWs in two Weeks for the A701, I am happy

Came from Stock JB, wiped everything, system, data etc. Then installed your ROM and GApps. Just to make sure: with Stock 3G was working.

Might flash this on, just to troubleshoot the 3g issue. Probably a ril issue would be first guess.

OP did not obtain permission to use the kernel included in the 701 rom, from the author of said kernel. As per XDA rules, permission must be obtained from the original author, to use works created by said author.

Hi everyone,
Odiv does not want to share his work for the moment.
I respect his decision, there will be no more build for A701 based on his Kernel.
I will continue to update A700 & A510 versions, based on CM Kernel. The A700 version will be A701 compatible, but without 3G.
If a dev publishes a Kernel / source version of the A701, then I will continue to build the A701, or if I can make the CM Kernel works with A701 (but it might be hard for me)

For some reasons - acer's kernel will not works properly with 4.2.2. And don't forget author used not only the kernel - he just has not realized.

Q1. Which Google Apps should I choose ?
There are 3 gapps to decide from
- CyanogenMod gapps are updated only when a new version of android is released i.e. like 4-5 times a year.
- ParanoidAndroid gapps are updated frequently and vastly improve multi dpi support.
- SlimBean gapps are updated frequently as well and they also improve multi dpi support, with that they can be inverted by enabling PAC in Black from settings.
Q2. I have an error during installation.
Try a different recovery. Some people have issues with cwm so try twrp in that case.
Maybe the downloaded file has corrupted, try redownloading the file.
Q3. The rom doesn't boot up. Or I enter a bootloop at second reboot.
This is due to the fact that most kernel haven't been updated to support 4.3 yet. So if you try to boot up with a kernel which doesn't support 4.3, you will be stuck on bootlogo and/or bootloop. Reflash the rom again and don't flash a kernel this time.
Q4. I am having issues with touch at bottom of the screen.
This is due to pie. If you don't use pie, then disable it from Settings -> PAC-man -> Pie -> Trigger area -> None (disable) .
Q5. I have problem a,b,c...x,y,z ; What should I do now ?
If you dirty flashed (without wiping data partition) over previous rom or nightly, then try a clean install.
Otherwise leave a reply with your issue.
Q6. Why this rom lacks features like halo, pie, hybrid settings, aokp tweaks and all ?
They are included, Make sure you swipe the settings column to the right side (see the pics) to discover the true benefits and features of pac-man rom
Q7. Is there a way to get rid of nav bar at the bottom of the screen?
Go to settings -> PAC-man -> hybrid properties-> interface -> then under workspace, slide nav bar to 0%

Both sdcard0(Internal) & sdcard1(External) are Fat32. then also cant read & write anything on any SDcard, even with Root access also File Manager dont read any Root folders.

I don't see this problem in lola pacman rom...
ty for port but it has too many bugs.
sd card wont mount,system ui crashed with changes in hybrid mode,theme chooser fc,users switch gives fc,over all experience is poor,phone is slow,notification bar is misplaced when in any mode other then stock,pulling down from right side will leave you empty bar or right side and opposite,hybrid(system) settings are misplaced also scrolling from one tab to another will leave some of the letters stuck.

I did wonder how you had got that working considering my n7 running pac ain't got it
So far so good...
Installed it the first thing today -
Followed every single step, including performance tweaks - clean installation.
All looking good so far -
No restarts/FCs yet. Calls, SMS, wifi, 3g, gapps, and other daily features working fine.
Google maps and navigation - checked - works.
Music/Videos etc - checked - works.
In-built live-wallpaper works!
Will use for a couple more days before I say anything about performance or battery life.
For now, nice and smooth enough to be a daily driver... thanks!! :good:

Ups, looks like I promised too many features for this release.

Follow up after two complete days of usage..
The good: mostly runs smooth; and just too many options and songs available to customize your desire.
The bad: few FCs while using the keyboards(stock and SwiftKey).
Graphic glitches on the home sometimes (usually after opening a few apps). Had to even restart a couple of times for both the above issues.
Performance: I have made the changes recommended by spezi77, and it works fine most of the times. Can't complain.
Battery life: would last a day of I don't play around too much. But since I was busy testing things for quite some time, had to charge it couple of times a day. But saw that it charges up pretty fast.
If possible to reproduce, I'll attach logcat for the issues.

Thats the only thing keeping me on TW, aosp lollipop looks much better than samsungs offering, especially with out xposed and using non stock dpi it looks awful.

- Opengapps Pico (32bit) is recommended!
- Please clean flash this build if you encounter any problems.

-Minor Bugs:
-To enable Miracast, go to wireless display
(long-press the ScreenCast QS icon -> Click the menu icon (top right) and Enable wireless display)
You will have to connect/disconnect from this screen too, miracast display will not show up in the QS icon or quick popup.
-MHL support is minimal and very buggy.
-Some UI settings don't play well (colt decorations) and can cause System UI crashes, looking into possible solutions.
-Undetected bugs.
You tell me, I can only test so much on my tablet.
Please have a logcat/bugreport ready if you wish to report a bug, this will be the only way to help track errors.

Note:
Direct Dirtyflash is ok, this has ota survival support so magisk and gapps should carry over fine.
if you wipe the system then you will have to re-flash magisk / gapps

Version 6.0 running hot. Disabling netmnger seemed to have fixed it.
Also not sure if gallery is missing or if I accidentally deleted it but easily fixed by installing one from playstore.
Does it work with the SM-T520 tablet?

good catch I forgot to revert the netmgr change in the 6.0 build, I will fix it on next release.

I love it!
The only problem I have is that the option "display over other apps" does not work
Have been using linageos 17.1 for a long time now and colt 6.0 for a week now for many hours every day and havent found any issues .coltos is more stable and better than 17.1.

This is the best custom Rom I have found yet. Amazing work and unless the mentioned bugs working well. Guess I will order now a new battery to give this tablet a longer life.
Fom my personal taste I would have left the launcher as optional.
I was trying to brew my own custom rom based on Android 10, but as I am still a beginner I could not handle the particular drivers.
Keep on working!
Will the online updates also cover Colt or only the Android components?

It's located in the system /vendor/bin folder. You will need a file manager that can access system files. Delete or deny it permissions and reboot
