Anybody know where I can get a volume flex cable? I damaged it while changing the battery.
I tried http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=16024636846 but I have not gotten a response from them yet.
I've been trying many places that all seem to link back to that site for about 5 months now

I noticed today that my charging port seems to be loose. I've never dropped the phone or had any other issues with it. But I noticed that my phone was on the charger and not charging. I then moved the connection slightly and it started charging again. If it gets moved at all it doesn't charge. So two questions:
1. Does anyone know if AT&T warranty will cover something like this? I called and got a really generic answer so I might just have to go into the store... blah
2. If it isn't covered in the warranty, does anyone have any idea where to buy a new port and/or how to fix it??

That sounds like user damage/wear and tear which is not covered AFAIK, unless you got the add-on insurance.
I've only had the phone for about 20.days and I'm always really careful with my phones. I'm going.to take it in the store to see if I can get a warranty replacement... I'm probably not even going to unroot or anything lol. wish me luck.
Have you tried a different cable....the ports can get damaged, but it's typically the cable end that wears and it seems like its the port

I can confirm this...just happened to me , new cable did it...
I tried another cable almost immediately and it was still not working. But I found an old kindle usb chord and tried it... the connection is nice and tight. I had to modify the case I put on my phone so the kindle chord would fit but now it works great and the chord is almost twice as long as the original HTC chord!
worked a treat

Hi all guys. when replacing a display for htc one x I happened to break a cable. has been damaged.
The cable in question is called: dock cable.
Can anyone tell me if it only serves to power the phone from the dock station, or is it essential for the operation?
Here Link
I can confirm it does NOT affect the screen/touch functionality. Not sure about wireless connectivity as I haven't tested it.
Most likely you'll only lose docking if you leave it disconnected.

I ripped the same cable nearly in 2 last night. After a bit of diy I got it back in place and together.
Even if my repair wasn't successful my phone is working correctly

I don't have a power button and the usb port is just about dead. I bought a charger where it charges the battery separate from the phone. I boot it by pressing really hard with usb cord hooked to computer while holding vol up n down. Then when there's a connection after moving cable millions inch by millions inch it turns on and I hit vol down to.cancel download mode and it resets. But the usb port won't last forever and it's a pain doing this everyday. Besides repair shop or soldering is there any other possible way to turn the phone on with no power button and most the flex cable ripped. Or does anyone want to donate me or know where to get a motherboard cheap

I think that that is a good excuse to upgrade to a new phone

I'd try to fix USB port and also power button. There are so many "how to's" around & it costs peanuts.

I searched this up for the SII and the USB port plus power button costs $75

Yeah not exactly cheap

Hello
Yesterday i was repairing my car charger and I touched red cable with green. Nexus immediately turned off. Since then i can't charge my phone. Probably the charging module is burned. I read a lot of articles about opening and swapping parts, but I can't find anywhere information about where, on which part is this charging module. Maybe on motherboard, maybe on plate stick to motherboard, or maybe on the "tape" where also is the micro usb port. Please help, because i don't know what should i swap :-/
Look for le55ons Nexus 5 disassembly tutorial on YouTube. He makes fantastic close up videos of taking the Nexus 5 apart.
Why would you repair something plugged in and powered up?

oh, it's a long stupid story i know. It's only my fault... Thanks @dkconor I watched le55ons. He answered my question. Now I must buy new motherboard :/ but it must be from european version, because in USA there is diffrent 4G frequency...
Surely you'll find one with a smashed screen to salvage from on eBay?

I can order new motherboard, but I think it will be cheaper to buy crushed nexus. Am I wrong?
I found Nexus 5 which is water damaged, do U think motherboard is good?

Hi
Does anybody know what board fixes this issue.
Definitely a hardware problem as it does it on recovery.
It is getting progressively worse.
Used to be when it was hot, bit even doing it at normal temperature now.
Took phone apart and remade all connectors, still the same.

Maybe you could try replacing the usb flex cable? The connection to the screen goes through that, and they are 10-20 on ebay or amazon which is substantially cheaper than replacing the motherboard or the screen.

Good luck, hope you get your nexus 5 working again.
Worked a treat. Only 1 problem, the first flex cable they sent me the led was different colours and the mic didn't work.
Second cable worked fine.
Thanks for suggesting the fix.
