Hello all!
I'm MBQsniper, aka Kyler, and this an app I'm working on.
What is it?
It's a mobile version of my CPU guide found in my signature, it's a heavy work in progress, so don't expect anything too fancy. yet. Ill be adding a section for I/O Schedulers soon, along with other things im going to keep a secret for now.
Information regarding the app:
It was made in Eclipse, using Ubuntu 10.04.4
Copied/pasted with very few changes straight from my guide
Again, it's a heavy work in progress, but will get better as times goes on
Bugs:
As of right now, I have found no bugs using the app with my rooted Toro (VZW GNex) running Android 4.2.2, if you find bugs, please report them with as much detail as possible.
Changelog:
3/13/13:
Initial release

Beta 1: http://d-h.st/TDr

If you're wanting critiques I'd link to works cited. If it's a non-standard governor I'd want to know who made it, if they still actively develop it, and what their definition is- unless your definition is better. Personally I like knowing what the creator was intending as it's rather unconventional to use a nonstandard governor. Also,I could see this extend to explain tcp congestion avoidance algorithms and io schedulers.
Also, if they had visual explanations that always helps... but only if they can be explained in a uniform pattern.
There are several faqs like this in forum posts. If someone did it right it'd be nice to have a definitive reference. Depends on how far you want to take it

Hello everyone. I wanted to share something fun I've been working on.
ChopSuey is a kernel built from htcs released 2.6.35.10 kernel source.
This kernels goal is to be stable while implementing new features.
For a full feature list, please see the changelog on Google Code linked below.

Any plans for a SBC version? Really missing that on the GB based ROMs!
So far, so good. Thanks for posting this!
I'm on kings Alliance the breed and its running exactly like freedom. I downloaded the universal one. It's cool. Like it. Smooth. Carousel working fine. Everything good

Yea, I thought you said v0.7 was going to have SBC, are you planning on adding it into v0.8? Man that would be total win.
Ha! Funny! I was waiting for the SBC questions to start!

My extended battery and I are definitely waiting for a SBC kernel before I flash it to a GB Sense rom. =D
SBC will not be something I will be adding atm.

I understand yours, as well as everyone elses want for SBC. Absolute truth? I don't use it. I find the small increase in life I get not worth the potential harms and quicker EOL of my battery. I would prefer, at this moment in time, to continuing improving the kernel in other ways.

You really gotta be a **** like that?
The Guy summed up the ridiculousness of all the SBC demands, and you still Focked with him. Not very cool.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate all your contributions to xda, but seriously, someone makes a valid point and you mock him, even though you agree with his point? It defies any psychoanalysis I can even come up with.
Just my .02¢, but Jesus, I don't get it. You develop good stuff, why you gotta sh1t on people?
Maybe you thought you just kept the joke going, hope that's the case, and if so, disregard my post. But it's sure hard to tell (I know I would have taken it as a slam)
On-topic : barnacles, thanks much for jumping in for some sense kernel development. Super appreciated. When I drop salvage 1.3, in a minute, that I flashed last night, will def check it out. Thank you much.

Anyone got any links or provide some input on some questions I have about nstools. I can't seem to find anything on it. A few things I'd like to learn more about..
LiveOC
Deep idle
Touch wake
Lulzactive settings
And last but not least the voltage settings confuse me. what's the difference between arm voltage and int voltage?
Thanks in advance for the input gents.

... no. Not what they mean. Good try though. I mean what each of these actually do. I don't know what liveOC actually does for example. And to the douche above me, search engines don't always lead you to where you want. Search engines won't give you a cohesive explanation of what you actually want to learn about, which is why I'm posting it in a FORUM. Just a **** load of results with the word youre searching for in it. Troll harder and of you can't provide a helpful explanation I'd rather you shut the **** up. K? Good. Now..

HolymighT's link will explain a fair bit with regard to governors and IO schedulers. Also, to use any of these settings you of course need a custom kernel which has these features included.
This Search will probably clear up most of those.
EDIT: I have overestimated the search feature...
Deep Idle
Live OC
Touch Wake
Backlight Dimmer
Voltage Info
Batter Life Extender
Lulzactive Settings Info

Troll harder? Learn to apply yourself. Do you need someone to hold your hand? Maybe you need to learn how to search for information. Everything you asked about can be found on this forum. Via the search feature or using Google. All you have to do is add xda to the end of the word you are searching for on google and it will list all the hits on the xda forum.
Btw telling you to Google was hardly trolling. It was more a polite way to tell you don't be lazy.

awesome, that should have the necessery drivers etc to build a kernel? I assume the only thing that will need to be tweaked is the LTE radios, which again are identical I believe with diff frequency stepping (which i assume is a very easy tweak compared to the overall job)
We had several great entries in the BASH Obsfucation contest. We asked for results in the irc.freenode.net #VerisonS3 and #VerizonS3-Dev chatrooms. These results were inconclusive. Now you decide: Who wins the Verison Galaxy S3.
We narrowed down the results to 4 final entries. Now you decide who wins the $600 Verizon Galaxy S3. You decide who will be the next Galaxy S3 Developer.
Entry #1: hsz# http://goo.gl/zkDg5
Entry #2: llwarta http://goo.gl/KBlvw
Entry #3: mrcinsf http://goo.gl/SKdTY
Entry #4: zdeveloper http://goo.gl/gv5yA
What does this mean for us dumb folks? Lol
Not sure how to pick a winner based one what is linked?
Oh, I missed the contest, but will happily submit a vote.

Pick a winner based on whatever. JordanKeyes and myself have reviewed the entries. Each of these entries are skilled developers. So, in order to abstract ourselves from playing favorites, you decide which developer you would like to win the Galaxy S3.

Are any of these guys on Verizon? Also, why are they all new? There was no XDA established devs in the running?
It is hard to choose if you do not know who these guys are. We really need an RIL dev for the Verizon S3.
It is definitely cool of you to give one away though.

Number 3, from mrcinsf, seems the rather obvious winner to me. His obfuscation seemed the most well informed, using a fairly complex cipher. The ascii fun and simple animation work are also a plus, but not important to the contest.
I can expand on all the entries later if anyone wishes me to do so, but number 3 gets my vote unequivocally.

What's the deal with this kernel?
I feel like all the AOSP ROMs have taken like 3 steps back while trying to incorporate this new kernel compatibility. I have not experienced, nor seen/heard anything that has shown this kernel to be better in any way.
Can someone please explain what the benefits are of this kernel, and its need to exist? I know the are many other people with a similar question. Thanks in advance!
