Hey, i want to ask about one-tap root app.
i remembered that in 2010 there is oclf that had built-in rooting and unroot app,
and in 2012 there is exynos abuse
since i can't use them anymore to root, i want to ask : is there any app like them 2 ?
i mean that the app can be installed to handheld .apk so i need no computer , cause i don't know to use odin, cwm etc.
my hh is galaxy s2 in stock firmware , 4.1.1 jelly bean locked on bell canada
thanks

hi i am newbie
I bought samsung galaxy note GT-N7000 (THL). now i just upgraded android os official from 2.3 to 4.0.3 official throught samsung kie software. I wonder. if i want to rooted this android 4.0.3, so when samsung release new official android os, so i can upgrade throught samsung kie like before?
another problem is: Which open source softwares can backup whole app and android os and kernal without rooted device?
thank you
I'm fairly certain that you can update your device through official forums once you've rooted it. You may have to root it again after the update though.
Also you'll only get over the air updates if you keep the stock rom and bootloader, if you install something like clockwork recovery you will not be able to get your updates.
I know that the premium version of titanium backup can backup data from your apps but you definitely need root access to back up the full app.
Spend some time reading through the forums for your device, try searching around a bit, you may find that a custom rom is appealing, in which case you can root, backup your apps and get a better device.
Good luck!

Hello, sorry if this question was mentioned elsewhere- the "similar threads" searched when I posted this didn't show my question.
I have a ATT samsung galaxy note 2 rooted with cf auto root.
However, I noticed that this morning an update was "postponed"- searching online, it seems that the update was the jelly bean 4.1.2.
I am from the iphone, and the main cause of breaking the root was always updating the software without getting it patched. Therefore, I was wondering if cf auto root is immune from further updates (or this one at least)? If it isn't, should I be patching it with something?
Obviously, a newb android user- any help will be appreciated. Thanks

This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
Hello all,
So, same as the title, I have wanted to root my Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3.
It is a factory unlocked device, and I am not bound to any contract/ISP/telco.
I have seen some posts in some blog that I can use Odin and CF-Auto-Root, but I am not sure if it will work or if it will add another brick in my house. I am also concerned on Samsung Knox and if anything unwanted happens if I root it.
Can anybody pinpoint me to a good tutorial here or anywhere?
