Hi ,
i was running Cyanogenmod 10
i just tried to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2170844 using CWM recovery, phone restarted with out completing and showing error, tried restating phone it ,when phone turns on it showing error again and restating automatically,
I tried to flash Stock ROM 2.3.6 using odin (tried 2 different versions ) i am getting failed,
if do first time Odin shows specified file can't open,
in next time Stuck on Setup connection
Help me please:confused
The restart and error problem is due to recovery looking for the update in the wrong location. You should copy the file to both sdcards so that if finds it. Copy it on the root of both of them and it should work.

Hi
I`m a noob needing some help. I recently got my Nexus S (i9020T). I have not rooted my phone or modifyed it in any way.
2 times I have had the update notifyer telling meg that there is a system update available(currently runing 2.3.4)
When accepting the update the phone gets stuck on the Google screen. Nothing happens for a long time. Both times I have ended up pulling the battery and the phone starts up again without problem.
I tried once pressing the "volum up" and "power" buttons and using the recovery option(after puting the updatefile og the root of the phone in usb-mode). The same thing happens.
Anybody have a solution for me. Need a fix as I do want the ICS update when it releases.
Send it back from where you broughtbit

If the phone works then there is no need to send back. Google online "Download 2.3.6 update for T-Mobile" . a website should have it . The file should be 96 MBs long. Download astro file manager because u don't really need the PC to update ur phone... once the update is downloaded just find the file in astro / downloads / ... press and hold on the update and rename to update.zip ... then press and hold again and move to Root of SD ... turn off phone and boot into recovery and install update from zip

Hi
Thank you for the reply.
I have tried this solution. When booting into recovery the phone stops at the Google screen and nothing happens. Have left i alone for up tp 2 hours without anything happening. It's not responding at all. Having to pull the battery to start it up again.
Did you try to reset the phone to factory-reset before updating?
Just tried to. It gets stuck at the Google screen yet again.
thats not good
Now you can do 2 things :
1. Send the phone back to samsung to repair/update
or
2. Root the phone and then reset it back to stock and try again.
If you decide to root your phone, you have to
unlock the bootloader (everything will be wiped)
install custom recovery (ClockWork)
install root
install the rommanager-app from market
download the stock 2.3 from the RomManager (includes stock recovery)
try to update over OTA again
and if it works you can relock the bootloader
this works for my nexus s i9023 ... i hope that this works also on your i9020T, but im not sure
Do you have a link to a walk thru? I've tried some "oneclick roots" but they all gets stuck at "device not found"

Do you see the Android ADB Interface in your Device-Manager while the Phone is pluged in? If not you have to install the Samsung Driver.
I do see the device when plugged in

then you can try it manualy :
download superuser @ http://bit.ly/su2361ef and put it on your sdcard
adb reboot bootloader (the phone should go into fastboot)
download cwm @ http://www.mediafire.com/?xdpvcxiybcrzte5 (5023-green.img)
fastboot boot path-to/5023-green.img
now the recovery should start on the phone
in the recovery choose install zip from sd and look for the su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip and install it.
after that just enter "adb reboot" and your phone should start rooted.
now you can install rommanager over the market and look for an stock-image to revert back and retry to update it OTA.
Try install clockworkmod into your phone.
1. Boot into fastboot mode.
2. Install phone driver.
2.a. Get driver frome some where (try googling PDANET Nexus S driver (for your series)).
2.b. Install & enable adb and fastbott (googling too, there is some tutorial in http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=881).
2.c. unlock bootloader.
2.d. flash clockworkmod.
3. Boot into clockwork mode recovery (in fastboot mode choose recovery).
4. Mount your USB driver.
5. Download stock ROM for your phone.
6. Wipe data, caches, and dalvik caches.
7. Install from SDCard, choose your stock rom zip.
8. Restart phone.
7. Optional -> lock your bootloader (the same way as unlocking bootloader, but change unlock to lock).

Hello
I was using my infuse running REMICS 1.2a custom rom perfectly fine. In fact, it was so nice that I decided to make a backup of it. I went to rom manager, selected backup, the phone restarted in blue CMW recovery and did the job (supposedly)... but right after that it just reboots into recovery. ALWAYS.
Tried to restore using the backup I just made but it still boots into recovery. Wiped data, cache, devik cache, etc... tried reinstalling the rom using "install zip from sd card".... it clearly installed just fine but it still reboots on blue CWM recovery. Tried many other roms, no luck.
Tried using Heimdall one click, it recognizes the phone but fails. After that when I try to put the phone in download mode it now shows a phone, a yellow triangle and a monitor on the screen and says:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
Now I can't even go into recovery mode. As soon as I start the phone it shows me that message. Opened Kies but I'm not sure what to do.
Downloaded Odin, tried to flash several md5 images (as an administrator) and it fails: "Complete write operation failed".
please help! don't know what to do!
That is another form of download mode...try another usb run the one click again...

Does it vibrate non stop... Because this happened to me once... No matter what I did, nothing was able to fix it
-I tried restoring old back ups
-Flashing new Roms
-Deleting and wiping data cache and dalvik cache and under mounts I formatted system
-I went back to stock
I tried every possible solution and nothing worked for me but maybe your case is different so you might want to give this a try
So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
Edit: I believe the pit file download link at that thread no longer works but if I remember correctly the pit file isn't needed (it's not do or die) you can continue without it your phone will be fine
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ICS.
*IF YOU WANT TO ROOT IT READ BELOW*
to root it simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery and once the recovery is flashed using Odin reboot into recovery and flash the superuser.zip then you'll have Rooted Stock ICS Firmware
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot or on custom recover wipe cache and dalvik cache reboot and you're good to go.
If I helped you in anyway don't be afraid to hit thanks!

Thanks for the response. I would love to do all of that, I just cant get the phone into download mode for more than 3 seconds without it re-booting. Does anyone know how to get me into download mode without rebooting. I have a jig and all cables.
just need to get it to download mode.

Reboot while your in recovery?
Reboot while your in download mode?
Reboot while booting up?
Reboot for anything and everything?
If so I'm sorry to say but your phone is done for...when this happened to me I had to fight through the reboots and flash stock even if it took a thousand frustrating tries then once I reset the flash counter I sent the phone off to Samsung and got it exchanged free of charge... Better hope your still under warranty otherwise you're in the market for a new phone.

Thanks for the information. I am coming to the conclusion that might be the case. I have sifted through multiple threads, tried everything other than a JTAG.
If anyone else has a suggestion, im a very open to hearing it.
By mistake due to some problems I've accidentily deleted internal storage in the bootloader mode. Meaning that I can't get into android and I can't install any ROM (since i've deleted the storage). How does one fix this problem? How do I connect it to the computer and upload rom?

You can either push a rom to your device through a custom recovery using adb or flash the factory image. You also might be able to see your device when booted into recovery and copy and paste a rom to it.

More details pls :/ I cant just plug it into computer and upload it, it doesnt go into the system and it has that SD card issue :/
Well I’ve managed to make every turn possible with my hammerhead. I’ll just explain these turns as much as I can.
1. Unlocked the device
2. Installed ROM, everything was OK.
3. Applied different ROM, started having problems with SD card. Installed TWRP manager, problem fixed. Though there were some space issues (backup 6 gb and so on)
4. Made the worst turn, bootloader mode, deleted internal storage, wiped.
5. In turns on, goes into cataclysm rom, but the system doesnt show and Back buttons or minimize or Home (those 3 buttons at the foot of the phone), wallpaper is black. IF u connect it to the computer, the internal system is just EMPTY. Can’t transfer any rom to the phone. Cant go to the store and install TWRP manager. All kinds of crazy ****.
6. Tried Force flashing it with nexus root toolkit while in bootloader mode. Failed. Doesnt recognize the device, bootloader on the phone freezes.
