I just installed the "Missed It!" app and love ti so far but would love to have just a symbol for phone, messages & email with a number before or after it instead of text... I can't figure out how to set this up... I've seen this on many home screens but never understood how it's done..
Another thing: at the moment I have a white background and the missed it widget is black text, when I get an email or any other notification the text becomes white and blends in the white background... No clue why this is happening...
I would really appreciate some pointers in the right direction.
Thanks,
Ben

I have done some looking on this issue and it seems that there may be no solution, but I thought I would post in this forum nonetheless to see if anyone had any ideas. One of the little things that bugs me about my touch pro is how the title bar behaves when there are multiple notifications that are awaiting disposition. For example, when there is one reminder, say a task is due, I hit the title bar and the HTC large title bar comes up allowing me to hit the enlarged bell icon and bring up the reminder. This works great for me. However, where there are more than one notifications pending, say a reminder and an new email envelope or a missed call, if you hit the enlarged bubble, a new bar is brought up immediately below the title bar that shows all of the pending notifications -- the trouble is that these notifications on the second level are so damned small that I often need to get out the stylus just to access them. It would be great if this second level of notification bar were also enlarged to make it finger friendly. Any thoughts on whether this can be done?
The second thing that annoys me is the email envelope in the title bar. I am happily using TF3D which gives me a clear indication of how many new emails are in my inbox. However, most of the time, I need to actually open my mailbox to get rid of the little envelope in the title bar. This is redundant and a waste of time (and also exacerbates the issue above with multiple notifications). I don't think there is a solution to this problem, but again thought I would ask.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Is it possible to disable the "Call History" line on The TouchFLO Home?
I ask because it is bad UI. Even if you have _no_ missed calls, there is still a glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark, which indicates to me that there is a missed call. Very annoying.
Same prob
hey,
having the same prob. Cleared the complet call history, but in the home screen is still the glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark.
anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks !
U can get rid of the 'glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark'
just copy 1bbfdc9b_manila from your phone and edit it in Manila Editor...
The 'glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark' image is there among other icons and pictures....
but if u change the look of the clock it will bring back the 'glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark' image
sorry, the phrase 'glaring icon of a phone and an exclamation mark' just got stuck in my head
Is there a way to actually fix it so that it will show the missed call icon when u have a missed call and a normal icon when you dont?
thanks
Scary
Even if it would just stop glaring, that would be ok.
Anthropomorphism or wot?
The whole Call History bar is horrible imo. It's taking up valuable real estate better served by my calendar.
It would be better served being a tab with an indicator up on the very top bar when a call was actually missed and/or a little number on the tab when that happens.
Venting is gooooood.

How do i do this?
Anyone worked out how to do this yet? I hardly get any calls on mine which I use for work, mainly use it as a modem and email to our exchange server. I also therefore want to get rid of it.
Looked around, but I can't find a way
Same issue!
So there's no fix yet? It's really bugging me, looks like there's a missed call when there's nothing.

doesn't it say 'missed call' when there is a missed call? lol
I searched first...
Does anyone know of an application that would show if I had any unheard voicemails on the home screen? Something that would flash up, the icons in the top task bar are very easy to miss and nothing shows that I have a voicemail on the home screen.
I miss some of the easier things that you could do on WM6.
Thanks in advance.
Widgets > Voicemail widget. I Personally don't use it. But it has an icon on it to let you know when you have x-amount of messages in a bubble.

Tried it, use it currently, does NOT show when you have unread voicemails in a bubble. Only shows it in the taskbar on top, and it uses some silly icon that means nothing to me.
Of course, this could be because I rooted.
Mine shows a little red bubble on the icon like the message icon for example. with he number of unreads in it. =/ maybe you should try reinstalling visual voice mail
Is there an app where if u receive a txt message, missed call, email or w.e. n let say you u weren't close by youre phone and phone goes back to standby or sleep. Will the led lights on the phone blink like a normal led notification on the g2x.
Search for g2x notification

Yep agreed on that one. The only other 2 I have found worth while and tested are...
"Message Notification"
--This glows a large envelope (literally the size of your screen) momentarily then fades out. This occurs along with your default profile notification. You then have the option to adjust the reminder settings and frequency. For instance that screen with the envelope will glow then fade every 4 minutes if you'd like. I work with my phone resting on a cradle or propped up against something so if you're nearby and miss a text you'll see it shortly thereafter. I know you're OP referred to something without a constant reminder, I'm sure to save battery, but this is again totally customizable and pretty cool. It's worth giving it a shot and then delete if you dont like it.
...and...
"SMS Popup"
-I still use this as of today... when a SMS or MMS text comes in it actually pops up a "cartoon style quote bubble" that has the senders contact card in it as well as the first 4 or 5 lines of message text. You have 3 buttons to choose how to engage: Close, Delete, Reply. Clean UI and works nicely. It stays posted in the foreground so when you're droid wakes up or you unlock screen it'll be there... however it doesn't light up the screen aside from the initial receipt. Hope this helps... the one overground posted above is great too. I have that installed along with SMS Pop.
alright thank u yes the g2xone looks fantastic, n about the message notification i couldnt find it in the market but thank u once again.
I've put ICS on my developer phone to play about with (not the Nexus) and I was wondering how it looks to people when they get an SMS message.
After coming across this screenshot, I thought that when you got a text, the contact picture of your friend would be displayed at the left, as is the case for Andy Rubin at the bottom.
However, I find mine are displayed like Hiroshi Lockheimer, with just the icon on a patterned background.
I really like the little contact picture, so is it displayed this way on the Nexus S or is there a way to turn it on? Why would Google show 2 different things in their screenshots?
Cheers.
Mine looks like the one with Hiroshi too. This person has a picture in my contacts as well. I didn't test it with her GoogleChat.
Same here, I get the sms icon, no contact pictures. Same for google talk. And I was wondering if this feature didn't make it in the release.
Thanks for checking that out for me! It's odd because I have a picture set too but mine displays the same...I'd have thought it would display the contact photo.
As far as I can see from that screenshot, Hiroshi and Andy are both texts? Maybe it's a third party app...does Handcent do that maybe?
Talk displayed the default picture. Could be my slow connection? Then when I clicked the notification it showed her picture.
Has anyone got the picture displayed for SMS notifications? It seems like a cool feature.
Same thing happens with my Nexus S too....tried multiple AOSP builds of ICS and the official release and still no contact pictures in the sms notifications It does show for gtalk notifications though. I have tried searching for a fix but haven't found anything yet.
