S-off - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I have a stock ATT OneX 2.20 rooted with TWRP and SuperCid. I've had no luck flashing custom roms so I'm still stock ICS. I've tried the instructions here for turning s-off but no luck. I get through the entire process but still have s-on. Can anyone point me toward better instructions or method of s-off for this phone so I can ota to JB? Thanks in advance.

What error message do you get when trying to s-off? If its 99 and not 92 you need to fast boot write cid and reboot then try again. Also make sure su app is set to auto accept new request.

ummmm you're not even in America. So why would you have a T-Mo Sensation 4G anyway? Maybe this is Troll bait.
No one cares anymore. It's easy to fake this statement.
I have Sensation 4G T-Mobile, I did revolutionary's S-OFF, then installed the RUU to stock T-Mobile, and it went back to look like a normal Bootloader with S-OFF still in place.
So I repeat, no one cares.

I was stock ROM, S-OFF and rooted...Clicked yes to install OTA when prompted..Phone reset and then that came up and its doing nada...
Am I screwed? What should I do?
Can I do a battery pull? Am I bricked?
I pray someone helps me and doesn't flame. I know there are some good people in here still.
I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.
You are not bricked you should be able to do a battery pull and boot up normally if that doesnt work since you are rooted get a tmobile 2.3.3 ruu and runn that..
I believe your mistake was doing the OTA WHILE being rooted. Good news is, is that most people here tried the same as you and all are fine now.
A beer would be nice, huh?
Matt
Thanks!
Doing battery pull now. Will update If any more problems.
It's not root that kills the process, it's the custom recovery.
I assume you have CWM Recovery?
You need the stock recovery to make the OTA work, hence you have to use the RUU to get it back. Instructions are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201773
After that, you can re-gain root by reading here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16808547
just flash the one that birgetime prepared for us. running it right now. get same as ota.

Hmm.. if u could unlock it via fast boot and install a recovery via fast boot, u could download a rom and flash it via recovery which should start u off like new again. hmm disregard all that recovery talk. i found out that you might need to Factory Reset or Hard Reset to restore to factory settings. i found this site on blogspot on how to do that. Click "Skip AD" on upper right corner in the link provided. Hard Reset Nokia 5700

Or if its a 4 digit number combination, then just go through a long time consuming process of 0000, 0001,0002- 9999... unless u know more or less the digits u used in the first place

Errr your hboot confuse me LoL
Everytime whenever there is a discussion about hboot i would just read a bit then ignore it xP
You are already 's-off', which is better than 'unlock' with s-on.
You should have a custom recovery, i presume it is clockwork. to flash a new rom step.
I would give my post 1 or 2 days before trying it out. Because if i am wrong someone will correct me then we both can learn.
I am slowly forgetting this kind of details but I think that even S-OFF (which is definitely much better than unlocked) he still needs an Engineering bootloader to flash a recovery.

I can't really say much about the tools you mention, but I can say that Rumrunner worked for me to s-off a Tmobile htc one s using Linux.
Not sure if that is an option for you. I don't think Rumrunner works on ICS, as I tried it on several devices that were ICS, including a htc one VX, and it didn't work until it had been updated to JB.
Hope this helps.
Ok ive download the Rumrunner and ina min or so will s-off
