[REQ] Is there a way to fix the mishandling of fonts by Jellybean? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Ever since the S3 left ICS, if you enable an alternate font that didn't come preinstalled on the phone, the phone cannot show it in bold. This means you cannot see what threads have been read in forums(or read them very easily) because new/unread threads show up in bold. It also effects various other areas where bold font is needed. I've been hoping the updates would fix it, but no. Can anyone figure out what changed with regards to handling fonts between ICS and Jellybean and cone up with a fix?

I'm not sure what you mean, here's a screenshot with "Hattori Hanzo" - some flipfont I downloaded from a random .zip full of flip fonts. The bold isn't very intense, but it's clear which threads I've checked.

Here's what I mean, one screen shot has default font and other has a flip font I used on ICS:

Anybody have this wallpaper?

its on the skyraider 3.1 sense rom, the one that has 2 andys popping out from behind a cracked wall that reads HTC in green........does any body have that in blue?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
If you have a copy of the original I can likely convert it into blue. Just give me an example of the colour of blue you want.
Thanks but I can't find its folder location...its not in the customize/resource folder..those are the stock ones...skyraider has its own set...

Seems to be the case... heh I downloaded what you are running (I'm on stock, just because I need everything working, even if it's slightly boring x.x) and was unable to find any custom wallpapers in any of the folders (it must be packed in an .apk or other resource file somewhere). Someone from the community should be able to provide further info though.
I have this one...can you do a navy blue?

Sure, but do you want to use the file you uploaded as source (compared to a larger image)?
Im not sure how clear this image is cuz im on my phone..i could use a jpg tho if its more clear..whatever is easiest for u, I appreciate it
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yea id like that as the source image..sorry for the "huh" response
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
No problem, a larger image is normally easier to work with (and would probably look better on your phone), so let me know if you ever have another file you'd like blue-ized. Also the Tap-A-Talk program might have made the upload size smaller. I attached a quicky version of a blue-ization. I don't know if you can view attachments in Tap-A-Talk, so I'll post a url in this post as well.

Edit 2: Also if you don't like the color of blue, let me know (I can try and match it to the hue SkyRaider blue... I kind of just picked a random blue =p).
A tad lighter if possible, sr blue is nice, im using the ported theme..i like it only theres still a somewhat red appearnce, are u able to clean it up some?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
heh, I thought I was seeing things (sorry about that red)... this should fit more in with the theme and all traces of red should be gone! Feedback is welcomed if it's not what you were hoping for =).

Font changer

I used font changer to change my font to helvetica light, but now the right side margin in gmail is really far to the left.... So the emails are much longer in length since the text doesn't go to the end of the screen anymore.
Anyone else seeing this and is there a work around?

Seriously? Obviously that's not my preferred solution. That's not even a work around, it's simply not even making the change.
No point being a smart ass in here...

Edit the gmail apk and change the right margin.

No idea how to do that.
I think a lot if people are using font changer, surprised it hasn't been commonly reported.

this is not what i'm looking for. its close, but when you install the new fonts, it replaces ones already in the system. i want one that just installs new fonts and doesn't replace existing ones.

changing default font size..
ive downloaded a font but after installing ive realized there r a few places where the font size is a bit too big.. any way to change the default font size on the apk or somethin or just keep searching for a diff font??
try spare parts and set the fonts to small. see if that makes any difference for you.

[Q] Adjust Font Size on Nexus 4G

I've searched threads, and across Google and most all point to the same result. I'm trying to shrink the font size on Gingerbread. I switched back from ICS due to the battery issues I was having and ICS let me adjust font size without problems.
Modifying the density with the root programs made my market screw up and throw me the error " This app is incompatible with your device". Changing density back fixed the issue. Is there another setting I can add to build.prop that can adjust font size? Has anyone had any luck changing font size without changing screen density?
Spare parts will let you change font size.

Thanks, The pro version or regular? Regular only seems to work on the spare parts screen and nothing else. I remember that app working for me when I had my epic, strange.
Not sure really. I only have used the one included with roms which I'd assume is not the pro version. Did you reboot after changing it? I haven't changed it in a while because I found the default font size was good enough for me. If that isn't working I'm not sure if there's any other app. Perhaps you could use rom toolbox to change fonts and get something closer to what you desire.

First, find the images you need to change. Open the existing project, then go to res, the xhdpi folder. The ones you want ate called message-bubble. Now just long press the ones you want to change and select edit from the menu that pops up.

Ah thanks I've tried many times and I've changed the colours to the blue I want and finished the project but when I restart and go the app the words are all scrunched up and the box is shrunken but I didn't touch the width or anything just the color... I can't do this I guess I'll just keep it how it is.
