Fast and easy? Yeah not gonna happen. You will have to learn to code in java and C+
Looking for an easy way out is gonna get you bricked.

Yes, as Zelendel said, there's no fast and easy way. Only slow and steady members wins the race. But if you want to tweak or theme your ROMs, try getting used with Android Kitchens, that would be a nearest bet for doing it the painless way.
If you are looking for building ROMs from source, then first of all read as many tutorials available, and then try doing it. You won't be 100% successful in the initial times, but you can improve gradually.
About Kernels, I pretty much didn't get you how to write your name in the boot! If you are talking about the boot splash image, it could be changed with dsixda's kitchen I believe.

ask the manufactures 4 that or try to search in htc's website.
You can compile a kernel from sources at htcdev website..
It'll work only on GB or below..
Wouldnt work on ICS/JB.. :good:

Actually they both arent tough.. You just need to know some basic "slang", ie, the terms commonly used, and some programming of intermediate level(this is needed if you want to change something in the source).. Otherwise, all you do is download a source already defined by someone, and build a zip from that source with a bunch of commands.. Childs play..
When you fix problems in the source itself, for eg, to make wifi/bluetooth work, thats when you need some knowledge, ie, thats the hard part,,
Building is very easy.. All you need to build is good computer speed, and patience..:good:

The link for kernel and rom making
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891046
The version depends on what you are going to build.
I have tried this tutorial on ubuntu 12.04, and it didn't work for me, perhaps, for I didn't configure things properly, and i was trying to compile for ics/jb.
Sarthak says that it works fine on ubuntu 11.10, 32 bit ( kernel making):victory:
Also, the source is just 100 mb or so. The toolchains are around 400 mb.:crying:
But, if you are planning to build ROM's on 32 bit, avoid it.
"avoid 32 bit if possible." That's what sarthak told me to do. so , i didn't.
P.S: most of the custom kernels i have used (not overclocked ones), have caused a lot of battery drain. Just make sure that your's doesn't.:fingers-crossed:

cyanogen mod is a community that develops cuctom roms for many devices(not all) with new android versions for a faster performance
If u want cyanogenmod for ur device then find out if its available for your device and u can find instruction to install it in the same thread where u download the rom{generally)
sorry for the bad english

Just pretty call it "Most popular Developers in XDA"
There usually the ones that release the somewhat "Stock" ROMS so developers could play or mess with. Same with AOSP but there both different but not to huge
like people said, if u really want know "Detail" google is your answer with a simple "Cyanogenmod"
From my perspective....I been on XDA for a while but never really wanted to created an account untill i finally realized I need an account to answer some questions here and there.
WE NEED A REAL DEVELOPER NOW.
OR BUILD A TEAM FOR ACE 2.
*MODDER
*THEMER
*CREATOR KERNEL
*CREATOR MIUI ROM
*CREATOR AOKP/AOSP/CM
*EDITOR
*TESTER
*GRAPHICS ARTIST TO BUILD PNG IMAGES ICON (YOU CAN USE PHOTOSHOP)
THATS ALL WE NEED
I HOPE WE UNITE FOR THAT THINGS.
If all of you want create a TEAM

Hmm. I see so that's the story. Well, people here are too impatient. Its not like other ROMs can make their phone 2x as cool and fast as stock. Hell, I actually prefer stock. The only difference I see is Theme Chooser (Except ParanoidAndroid's total UI Customization and different modes). which by the way is already available for non-CM/AOKP ROMs. The only reason I want to get CM for this phone is for hopes that even when Sammy abandons this phone, we'd still be able to run a recent version of android. 4.2.2 is no big deal for me, its still jellybean for chrissakes. I'd tear the world apart if we were still on GB and KLP or whatever 5.X will be called is already out.
I guess its best to wait. We waited a pretty long time for jelly bean but why replace something that's not broken? Still is just software, I doubt those ROMs can satisfy me.
.end mOpinion
Sadly, there's no one left, OsamaGhareeb knows programming (he can help with the sources) but he's MIA here on Ace II section. Then there's hafizduddin, who builds the kernels. Aaaaand there's OldDroid who said he'd be getting an Ace II and build something for it but he's MIA now too (i think he's active but I don't think he'd get this phone IMO)
So, that said, anyone else here who knows programing/Linux operation?
